FILTHY washrooms. Shower was rusted. Flush not working. Twin occupancy no soap only one towel. Bathroom after a shower the drain was clogging. Tea kettle etc in room no spoon to stir the same. Tea pot for hot water rusted. B.fast asked for mineral water. The bottles were not sealed

After staying at the hotel for one night, I would never come back here just because it is closer to the airport. Chennai has good connectivity from OMR, or even Tambaram. The service here is incredibly slow, the food at the restraints is not good. The complimentary breakfast is always empty and they never refill. I was there at 8.30 am and there was just staff managing breakfast. Above all there is no hot water in room. So good luck staying here. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

When we reached at 2 am the room was not ready. The room allocated had Mold in it and had foul smell. Bathrooms were in horrible condition. The staff were rude and non cooperative. The changed was given after 3 am which was equally bad. Upon asking they replied due to climate change all the rooms are same conditions. Better stay at airport then going to this hotel. We left for airport at morning 9 am. Our experience was horrifying. Even the blankets were having foul smell.

I have booked stay for my parents on 22nd April and same was directly paid at the hotel for 2 days in advance but subsequently there was a change and upon understanding with reception office we vacated the room with a commitment on refund to be initiated as they informed account team not available on Sunday. Receipt for the same was shared however to my surprise there has been no callback arranged nor mail responses from their team. I have been messaging them back to back with no luck ; so customers beware when such payments are being done. Any such business works on customer satisfaction and any commitment given or broken will not sustain any business model to flourish.

Very poorly maintained.The tiles on the floor are broken, the couches are torn, the beds & mattresses are in very bad condition. The service is very very poor. You call the reception for any service and they respond after an hour of waiting. The people are very rude, You keep talking to them and they walk away. There isn't designated parking area you need to park your vehicles outside the hotel premise. The pictures in the website aren't real, atleast not from my experience. Wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. Only plus about this is that, this place is close by to the airport. Overly priced, worst maintenance, rude behaviour, worst experience.

Rooms look like upgraded from 0 star to 3 star... unfinished work noted in deluxe rooms... not well cleaned. Reception staff was rude when i called over phone. In person also, not very friendly. Security and Room boy was good. Helped with luggage n all. Taps n all in bathrooms are rusted like... poorly maintained. they have their own taxi to airport at 400rs which was good... i stayed for a night sleep only to board flight... Peice is high for the room they provide.... but still manageable....

Southern Discomfort, I would have given a 0 star if possible. There were small cockroaches and insects everywhere. The taps and shower heads were rusted and dirty. When we came to the hotel room toilet it smelt nasty. For 5500Rs just for the cheapest room this was a terrible hotel. I highly recommend not to choose this hotel. The only benefit of this hotel is that it is close to airport, and just the airport shuttle costed 400Rs which was absurd. The food choice were limited in the buffet. When we came to this hotel last year it was ok, but this year it was filthy. Please do not choose this hotel it is absolutely horrible.

"HOTEL SOUTHERN DISCOMFORT" would suit better for this hotel. I would give a 0 star if there's an option to do so. The rooms are very stinky, it's not cleaned or maintained hygienically. We were given a room that was so stinky, a leaky shower and a bathroom are too small and they don't even have a smart card for the room. The buffet is the worst of all. The coffee cups are not even washed well and there are coffee stains with flies all around the cups. The plates look unhygienic, yucky, and disgusting. The buffet serving dish has cockroaches and when we let the manager know about it, he simply doesn't care about it. I wouldn't recommend my family or friends to this Southern discomfort!!.

Location is great and near by to airport and metro. But the service is not that great. The bed was not that good it was bit hard. The bathroom was not great. Not well maintained. No complementary drinks/water. And the front desk ppl were bit rude. I saw the same behaviour with other ppl too. Also after I made the booking and called them to confirm the check in check out timing. They said they would allow 24 hrs based on my flight timings. But when I arrived at hotel at 6 PM, they did not allow that and asked to check out at next day 12 PM. When I asked about their promise over phone, they said it was a mistake and was rude to me. I was actually surprised as I was allowed for 24 hr check out 2 weeks back and last year ( I stay here frequently). There are many good hotels nearby who offer 24 hr check out and are very true to price. This is not great for this price. They are exploiting us due to their location

VERY VERY POOR HYGINIC CONDITIONS SMELLY BEDSHEET AND PILLOWS, we can smell the sweat of previous guests MOULDS AND RUST ALL OVER THE BATHROOM TAP HANDLES corridors are smelly They are good in charging but not genuine in maintaining the quality and standards that will suite the pricing. For the level of conditions maintained definitely OVER PRICED Only good thing is this is opposite to the airport. food is not upto the mark. Some of the items are stored and smelling.

I would say more a 3 star hotel. Staff was friendly, last minute booking accepted. Room was clean, was able to get an extra mattress for the night. The Infrastructure is so good. The Staffs are good, But Cleanliness wise. It is very worse. I think they failed to do good maintenance.The Bathrooms have full of Salt sedimented in the bathing area floor as well as in the glass doors. The Toilet is not cleaned good too. For The Complimentary Buffet, the staffs weren't so supportive. Overall the amount we paid to stay is not worth at all and neither do the comfort.

This hotel cannot be considered as a 3 star one. Very poor service and room maintenance.The room was stinky and was not cleaned. Bathroom was not cleaned with rusted pipes and showers. They hadn't even kept a bucket and mug in the bathroom. Breakfast timings wasn't also not informed by the hotel staffs. Not at all worth the amount paid for the room. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was very close to the airport and on the main road which had its pros and cons Pros - 1. Very close to the airport 2. You get good deals at times. I got for Rs2.6k a night 3. The rooms are well designed like any good hotel, but the plushness left a bit to be desired. 4. Breakfast spread was local but good quality. 5. Housekeeping was prompt Cons- 1. The room I got was on the main road and the metro rail passing by noises was quite irritating and I shifted hotels for my third night as I felt that the increased price was not worth the inconvenience 2. While on the main road, the cut (u turn) to come from the airport is quite far away. All Ubers were refusing to come as they had to travel quite a bit to reach the location. 3. Room lighting can improve

The rooms at the hotel are completely unhygienic and unliveable. The bed covers are stained, e bathroom is filthy, the bathroom fittings are rusted, the commode and sink is clogged and hair keeps coming up to the surface. Added to that, the front office and staff are unhelpful and don’t really care. I couldn’t stay at the hotel even for a night owing to the unhygienic condition and had to book another hotel. The hotel isn’t taking calls for compensation/refund. Please don’t waste your money booking this place.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Don't trust this photo. The room here is very poor. Can't even take a shower while standing on the toilet. Switch box not working. TV not working. Does not give good soap. No one should come and stay here. The room is not even worth 500 rupees

Worst hotel ever, the rooms were so untidy and compact, that a lodge would be better. Also, my Dad fell off the bed as the mattress was so small for two people and it was so soft that one will sink into it and if u sit on the side, one will slip down. The only plus was breakfast. It was good. Room service was also good and so were the staff but the hotel definitely needs renovation.

Terrible stay! The room was not clean. The bed had hair strands and the room mirror was also dirty. The price is reasonable but expecting clean rooms is very basic. If the hotel cannot provide a clean room, there’s no point. We were extremely tired by the time we reached the hotel so we didn’t have the energy to change rooms. The room Ac was not cooling enough. The restaurant food was also average. The waiters didn’t understand English/Hindi and we didn’t know Tamil so it was difficult for us. We ordered tea in the morning, it took them a long time to get it for us. Also, there was a power cut. All other things can be ignored but hygiene is something nobody wants to compromise with. They should really work on it. The only positive thing was…they provided us with a taxi to drop us at the airport within no time. And the property is very near to the airport so that was a pro!

I given almost Rs.4500 for a delux room.. The room service is pathetic. They not provided basic amenities like bath towel, toiletries, etc. They forget to put a busket in the bathroom!!! I booked the room including the morning breakfast fast. But at 9 o clock when i came to eat breakfast almost completed. They didn't provided the back up facility for this. So if you are planning to book room including breakfast please wake up atleast 6 clock and eat food. otherwise you didn't get anything

This place is close to the airport. It only takes 5 mins from this place to the airport. The attendant was very nice and polite. Their rooms are fully loaded with equipment. Overall I recommend this place

No towels in room. Made multiple visits and calls to front desk, no towels for over 4 hrs. Menu in restaurant list dozens of items, but only 3 or 4 are available. All chairs in restaurant have torn cloth. Bathroom was DISGUSTING. Showerhead covered in what looks like mold. Mattress felt like 20 yr old mattress. Bedding had what looked like vomit stain. Carpet throughout hotel is DISGUSTING and cigarette and mold smell everywhere. If it was less than 1000 INR, I would not complain. But it was almost same price as Raintree. Stay in nice branded hotel for same price. Close to airport, but totally disgusting.

I arrived at this hotel from the airport and was told that rooms were not available and the fake reason was that 5 rooms had aircondtion problem. The truth is that some big timer had block booked the rooms. They said they have arranged alternate similar hotel. But we were sent to a mediocre hotel. So were a few other affected people Please be careful. They have no integrity or honesty. There are many other genuine hotels,but not this one. Don't take a risk with this hotel.

Horrible rooms and service. As the name says, Southern “COMFORT” is the most uncomfortable stay we ever had. The rooms, bed sheets, blankets, bathroom was not cleaned at all and pre used. When called on the room service to change the bedcovers even after calling for 5 times they did not care to cater to the request. Bathroom was so unclean and smelly that we could not even use it. The taps were broken and the handles came off when just touched. Breakfast looked so horrible that we could not bring ourselves to even taste it. When asked for bringing the luggage downstairs they did not send anyone for more than half an hour, we had to bring it ourselves. Could have literally missed the flight because of that. Won’t ever suggest it to anyone in the world. Not worth the money at all. Pathetic experience.

Very close to airport. Decent peaceful, neat & tidy room. Not opted any room service so can't comment. Restaurant is good and almost full because of food flavors. If offer good tariff, can bring more guests to them.

Worst service ever in the market. Being it very near to the airport and having such a worst service and unhygienic halls for events and worst foods and hospitality. Highly Recommend to avoid this Hotel Southern comfort and hotel viruthunagar for any of the events or business meeting for sure.

Mosquitoes may trouble you in restaurant and lobby area. Room was average but bathroom was poor. Breakfast was good but lunch item was very spicy. Hotel to Airport transfer was 300 INR.

Cons: 1. Inside window facing rooms have zero sunlight and zero air circulation as they have sealed the inside top. 24/7 hours light has to be turned on inside room and zero sunlight. If you are coming after long flight, we will have issues as there is no sunlight and jet lag will be there. 2. Intense chemical room freshener is being used inside room. It caused headache. Looks like there is no strict policy on smoking inside room. 3. No emergency exit signs(SAFETY RISK) 4. Customer service need to be greatly improved. Pros: 1. Near to airport 2. Restaurant food

Location is the only advantage of this hotel. Bathroom fittings were not working. Torn linen was provided. Pathetic house keeping and arrogant staff. Food is of average taste in the restaurant.

Very bad room services. Even after repeatedly asking for milk powder and tea sachets they never refilled them. We were informed that it is out of stock with them. They took so much time in providing any room services we requested. We asked for WiFi password and we were informed that the WiFi isn't functional. Our two nights stay went really bad. Their refrigerators weren't working in both of our rooms. The menu for breakfast was identical for both days, this is something I haven't seen ever. The only thing positive is that the hotel is located very close to the airport!

Cheaters. They don't allow even half an hour early check in or check out. You have to pay extra for it. In the name of the norms of the hotel they will always try to charge more. No humanity, only money minded people are there.

Original owner might have earned enough so this place is under lease as I understand. With some paint and polish they attract customer focus ......Bad facility and hotel ...!! It's just 2kms away from airport.nice rooms.A good view of metro from.window...Only suggestion..pls.check rooms before allowing the customers in.. for me . Stayed in this hotel for 1 night in between two flights, the advantage of this hotel is the location. It is located very near to the Chennai airport. The room is spacious, the service provided by the hotel is nice. The food provided by the restaurant below the hotel is good. Do prefer this hotel if you're looking for a good comfy stay near the airport.

3.5/5. it’s a good place near the airport for a stay of 2-3 days maximum. Faced problem with the ac in the allocated room. However was upgraded to a better room. Prices are bit overpriced as its near to the airport. Locality only had one restaurant. The metro station is at a walking distance if you want to travel across the city.

Good hotel with spacious rooms but the interior is too old and need immediate renovation. Breakfast menus are very limited but tasty. M sure you will like it !

Bad hotel to stay at. Overpriced for what was offered. The room stank, the Bathrooms were not clean, the bed sheets were not washed and they had stains on them, the pillows had a bad vinegary smell, the room service was slow and they refused to change our room but then they had to change it as it was unliveable, the tea cups were not washed, the kettle was not working, the bathroom had cockroaches. Only good thing is the proximity to the airport, the dosa at breakfast was decent and the night manager was kind and helpful. Would not recommend this place at all.

This hotel should be really rated 2 star though marketed as 3 star. The carpet really needs to be replaced immediately and the bathroom fittings look old and also need to be replaced. The attraction is the location as it's close to the airport and 2 minutes walk to the metro. The restaurant was pretty decent though be aware that it is chettinadu spicy. Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable

Medium Range hotel with better cleaning and nearest to airport. The rooms were small for family. The basic amenities like coffee, water provided in room . The check in was normal. The room service found slow and took more time for delivery of food. The breakfast have more South Indian dishes on average. The food was tasty. Overall it’s good option near Chennai airport and on 15-20min walkable distance.

Just 5 minutes away from Airport. Comfortable stay. Although rooms are small, with no amenities like fridge, for transit it is okay. One of the food items has insecticide smell. May be due to overuse of Gammaxene in kitchen.

Hotel is located close to the airport which makes it a good place for business travel. Rooms are smaller & the restaurant has good options for non-vegetarians but very less options if you are a vegetarian. Service & lifts are all good. Okay for a 1/2 days stay if being close to the airport helps you.

Booked though agoda. Reception is okay. Too much price. Rooms are not maintained well. Salt sediment is everywhere in the washroom sink, lavatory, door and pipes. Bad smell from the cabins/drawers. Even floors are damaged in one of the rooms given and we got a different one. Not recommended if you plan to stay and visit places in Chennai from this place. Only recommended if you plan for short stay before/after your travel (May be 4-8 hours). Only good part is it is close to airport and your travel time only will be saved. Though they charge too much money, breakfast was not even complimentary and they try to milk from the users.

The hotel is like any budget hotel with non working mini fridge, no ironing board. Most of the staff are non-professional . They don't have the proper knowledge of hospitality. The quality and quantity of food differs a lot when you eat in the restaurant and order it in the room. It's always advisable to have your food in the restaurant. It's ok to stay for one night if transiting chennai.

Nice hotel for a very short stay near Chennai airport. The hotel had some weird fragrance not very good smell. Hotel staff is really helpful. Francis helped us with luggage and a cab. He also communicated with local cab driver in Tamil which was helpful. On a rating of 1 to 5. 5 being the highest. Ambience - 3/5 Staff service - 5/5 Value for money -4/5 Restaurant in this hotel seems to be a different establishment. Restaurant food was good. Food - 4/5

Was a nice place to stay. All staffs were pleasant and helpful. Will definately be my choice of hotels when I return to Chennai. Good job done guys.

The cleanliness is okay. The staff are very helpful and nice. They arranged a cab for me within budget, airport drop is available. This is located close to Chennai airport.

Biggest plus is the location next to the airport. Breakfast costs extra, food is ok. Room could have been better. I wish it had a fan. AC took a long time to cool the room.
