The Aargauer Kunsthaus is a modern art museum located in Aarau, Switzerland. It is one of the most important art museums in the country, and its collection features a wide range of modern and contemporary art from both Swiss and international artists. The museum was founded in 1959 and has since undergone several renovations and expansions to accommodate its growing collection. The current building, which was designed by the architects Herzog & de Meuron, was completed in 2003. The collection of the Aargauer Kunsthaus includes over 18,000 works of art, ranging from painting and sculpture to photography, video, and installations. The museum has a particular focus on Swiss artists, with works by notable figures such as Ferdinand Hodler, Cuno Amiet, and Jean Tinguely. However, the collection also features works by international artists such as Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, and Gerhard Richter. In addition to its collection, the Aargauer Kunsthaus hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year, featuring both established and emerging artists. The museum also offers a range of educational programs and activities for visitors of all ages.

Some interesting pieces but very little variety. I also couldn't shake the feeling of a clinical, austere atmosphere. At no point did I feel welcome in the place and it's only because I was with a Swiss that I stayed.

The James Baldwin based exhibit on race dynamics in the US and Europe (white-black relations) was insightful and painful, yet colourful and heavily pop. I lived it 💕

If you're in Aarau, you could check this museum out. I found there are some interesting modern works of art. The coexistence of modern and classic art within the same room is unusual. Entry fee is 15chf unless you have a discount.

If you're in Aarau (once, for a brief time in history, capital of Switzerland) and enjoy art, go to the museum of art in Aarau aka Aargauer Kunsthaus.

Mostly modern art and a little romantic section. Spacious setup and friendly staff. Collection mostly not to my taste.

I like the amount of space they have and the most recent exhibition about Emma Kunz did not disappoint. Staff is very friendly :)

It was worth going especially since I experienced a few paintings with Augmented Reality (AR) effects. I loved it. It made my experience more fun and interactive. I'd like to visit again with my son.

This is a bad McDonald's. The worst french fries ever: old oil, burned, awful. It shows zero quality control. Never again!
