Best Asian food. And the owners are the most amazing people. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Delicious dishes and large portions. Very good prices. Looking forward to go again. I highly recommend it.

It's a very good Vietnamese restaurant in Appenzell. Who would've thought you'll find a very decent Vietnamese restaurant here in the mountain region in Switzerland, but I'm glad we did--a little off the beaten path. Service was excellent. A young waitperson promptly showed up at our street side table and start talking to us. After finding very quickly we preferred English menu, he went back to get a couple of them for us. Drinks orders were taken, and by the time they were delivered to our table, we were ready to give him our choices of food. Food...my Phở Bò was very good. Beef was a little tougher than what I'm used to in the US, but I'm used to well-done beef served in Germany. Broth may have not been the best I ever had, but it was still very good and tasty. What it's translated as beef balls (meat balls) were very solid and had a good flavor. My wife enjoyed her vegetables stir-fry with chicken very much. It was a very delightful dining experience in this quaint Swiss town full of cheese and chocolates. It certainly offered a very good alternate choice for dining experience.

It was not the first time we visited the restaurant, but this time both our 16 and 18 year old girls were with us. They both loved it. Delicious food, large portions, wonderful environment. We look forward to going again. I highly recommend it.

Highly recommend the udon noodles and pho bo. Try making your own flavor of soup with their sauces, it's really ngon (delicious!) and filling. Great for rainy weather or when you crave for something light and flavorful. Affordable, variety of choices and serves vegan dishes too! Love the ambiance, it's dainty on the outside, cozy and warm in the inside. Staff are friendly and homely :)

Was craving Vietnamese food for dinner during vacation in Appenzell. We ordered the spring rolls, steamed dumpling, the fried duck, the Vietnamese pancake, and the Mango cream dessert. Everything was amazing! We totally ordered too much food, but it was sooo worth it 🙂👍

Excellent service and quality👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 Everything is made fresh and price was all worth the taste and happiness for my stomach😍😍!! Plus, very kind staff and awesome concept of open kitchen space. I could see how the chef prepared my dish. It was nice for what I requested since I have a food intollerance, so the chef adapted a special dish for me. Also especially on Sunday the waiter was very cute and handsome ~ thank you~

We went to Chanh for lunch. My son had the dish of the day, a curry with rice, which was fine. I ordered the Pho Bo, longing for good Vietnamese food. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment, tasting nothing like Pho but rather like a bad generic broth. I shared the feedback politely but the staff did not seem to care much. I would not come back.

What a delightful find in Appenzell! A departure from the local cuisine much appreciated with fresh flavors and beautiful presentations. We over-ordered but savored every delicious bite. Rocky, the resident pooch, decided we were worth visiting and playing with. Very nice owner/family provided a warm welcome and kind service.

We ordered Pho Bo 🍲 and a lunch menu. Phobo can be smelly depending on how they cooked. This place wasn’t and the meal quality was also very impressive. a Vietnamese iced coffee was also very good!! 💓

Our family had a fantastic lunch at Chanh Restaurant in Appenzell today, we are visiting the area for a few days. The warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately put us at ease. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine met us at every turn. We were impressed with the fresh ingredients and the perfect balance of flavors. The kids loved the spring rolls, and the green curry was an absolute delight! Not to mention the excellent, speedy service which completed our memorable dining experience. We were talking to the son of the owner, very nice person. Definitely a 5-star gem in Appenzell, we can't wait to return!
