Santosh and his team are excellent hosts , home cooked food and hospitality. A detailed experience of the regions culture and traditions are facilitated. Especially the theyyam art performances. He is very knowledgeable about the various forms of theyyam calendar. There are around 400 different varieties of theyyams dotted around in sacred coves and temples and ancestral places Other than theyyam there are the pristine and beautiful beaches of the coastline with warm waters and golden sands Local people are extremely friendly and helpful Great local food and street food Less touristy than the south. The north of kerala is rich in natural resources, architecture and archeological heritage. I will come back for more

A Perfect Homestay with Exceptional Hospitality! We had the pleasure of staying at KAKAPOO during our Theyyam photography trip in Kannur, and it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, the host Santhosh Gaaru, ensured a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were Clean, spacious, well-maintained, cozy and all amenities were well taken care of. The homestay was located in a peaceful area, making it ideal for relaxation after long days of shooting the Theyyam festival. What truly set this stay apart was the exceptional hospitality. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from local insights to delicious home-cooked meals. Their guidance on Theyyam locations and timings was incredibly helpful for our photography coverage. We highly recommend KAKAPOO HOMESTAY to anyone visiting Kannur, especially photographers and culture enthusiasts. Looking forward to staying here again!
