Iguazu Falls is a city in the Brazilian state of Paraná. It’s a gateway to both Paraguay and Argentina. One of the world's largest waterfalls. The falls are magnificent, awesome and well worth visiting. Also, they have Birds Park. It’s a Institution conservation of the beautiful and exuberant birds of the Atlantic Rainforest. it’s the forest of Brazilian Birds, Beauty in ever breath, evolution and discovery, unique and abundant.

Travel tips: -It's beside a giant airplane on the open field -No need to buy ticket in advance -It's across the street of Iguaçu Falls National Park Entrance -The park is small and well maintained -The walking trail is relaxing and has many shades. -Plenty of restrooms

This place is amazing, what they're doing to protect these birds is amazing too! I highly recommend checking it out! Its really cool how you can go into the areas with the birds. The birds are very curious about you too. A lot of signage, stating a lot of facts about trafficking birds. The most notable is: 9 out 10 birds do not survive being trafficked.

We came to see toucans and there are no of them! We asked where are they and the answer was ‘in the hospital to do analysis”, well, let us come back for free in next days to see them! No… so it was sad Update: NO TOUCANS! I read reviews now and for the last year no one sees toucans! All photos are old! They don’t have them!

Well preserved place. Lots of bird variety and people looking after the place. Amazing pictures can be taken here. I'd suggest you to bring your child too as they will be amazed with the birds and how close you can actually get from them. For sure I'd recommend anyone to visit it.

Pros It was my first visit to Parque das Aves(Birds park). It's not huge but i could see various kinds of birds I've never seen in any other places. Perfect place to visit with children. Must visit place :) Cons Nothing.

Well worth a 1 or 1.5 hour visit! Tons of beautiful owls, macaus, butterflies, local birds. First time seeing a Toucan in person too! Tickets were around 70R each for adults. Concession and toilets available inside. Feeding parakeet experience didn’t seem worth it.

If you have time to visit this park - I would! We are from New Zealand so it was very cool to see plenty of different birds and reptiles! The hummingbirds in the butterfly sanctuary was a highlight for me, it hovered right next to me... A beautiful memory!

Great bird sanctuary and very convenient to the Brazilian side of iguazu falls. It's extremely obvious that the staff is dedicated to these animals. It was an opportunity to see some beautiful species of birds, and educational as well. The lunch restaurant was also surprisingly good!

Really enjoyed this park! A lot of beautiful birds that you can get really close to. I would recommend at least 2 hours and probably more like 3, if you want to soak it in. We ate in their restaurant and got some really great vegan food. So good that we went there just for the restaurant before our flight on our last day 🙌 You have to pay entrance even if you just want to go for the restaurant, but we figured that it's for a good cause (rescuing and helping birds), so why not 🥳

A highlight of our trip to Foz! Definitely buy tickets ahead of time. The best part is that it’s basically like a forest with birds rather than a park.

I would recommend visiting if you have time. The sanctuary has over 300 species of animals, mostly birds. They have done an amazing job, providing well cared for habitats. There are many enclosures you can walk through to get great close up observations. The facilities are well taken care of, plenty of bathrooms throughout and an easy to navigate layout. They have excellent food at their onsite restaurant with lots of vegetarian and vegan options as they advocate reducing meat intake to reduce agricultural takeover of land which is one of the main causes of these animals natural habitat loss.

This place is a wonderful bird and animal sanctuary located near the entrance to the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. In fact, we just walked to the entrance of the water fall after finishing our visit to the sanctuary. We enjoyed seeing all sort of different birds and animals during our visit. It was nice that all park signs included Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

Very happy to be able to visit this place with the family and friends, I love the way they take care of each animal, the place clean, safe and organized plus there are places to seat down and enjoy the ambiance and the food definitely a place to visit!

A must visit if you’re in the area. It was amazing and so well done. Such an incredible project with so many beautiful birds and plans.

  • 5/5 Lou K. 2 months ago on Google • 61 reviews New
It seems most of the birds here are rescues of ones that were illegally captured. Some are rehabilitated, and released into the wild... some cannot be. There are also captive breeding programs for endangered species. The enclosures are vast, giving the birds the opportunity to fly at least short distances. Overall, we were able to enjoy seeing these magnificent creatures without feeling guilty that we were contributing to their destruction.

Fantastic haven for birds. I personally don’t like zoos or cages for animals. But this place is as good as it gets for caring the birds. The cages and enclosures are magnificently landscaped & ginormous like walking inside the domes of the movie “hunger game-mocking jay”. Many species I’ve never seen before and they all look healthy and happy unbothered by people. There’s a cafe inside with excellent desserts at very reasonable prices.

Beautiful place to really dive into a great experience with the many birds this place has to offer. The possibility to actually see them up close and learn more about this project blew my mind. This place is a must go visit to truly capture the beauty of nature!

Amazing place and a must see while visiting Iguaçu Falls. While in Brazil and while waiting to see the falls, there was a very long line for the falls so we decided to do something else while the line died down, We decided to come to this park and I’m glad we did. If you’re an American, please go see this part because there’s nothing else like in the world that I have seen and you have exposure to the most beautiful birds at a very close range. We also had a very good lunch here, we ordered inside and then sat out and enjoyed the scenery.

Absolutely breathtaking place. Fun for both adults and children alike. It is surprising how close one can get to the birds and how nonchalant they are with all of the human activity surrounding them. The organization should also be recognized for their tremendous conservation efforts in saving precious flora and fauna from the Atlantic Rainforest which is on its last legs. Bravo all around!

A lot of different kinds of birds (some of which you can get really close to), a butterfly centre, some reptiles and the Atlantic forest biome. They also have an Australian cassowary. Entry for adults is R$70 (around $13 USD), children, seniors and students pay half, students need to present proof that they're students. (Attention: As of now the entrance to the park is on the wrong place in Google Maps, I'd suggest selecting the park's parking lot as it's closer to the entrance.)

This place has a wide variety of birds. Most of the birds are unique. The place is well labeled in English and Portuguese. The staff is quite friendly. The park is built in such a way that it looks natural. Trees and nature have been well preserved. It's much better than traditional zoos. The birds are given enough space to fly around freely. Definitely a must visit when in Foz do Igazu.

Amazing place for a family visit. Very clean and comfortable. Don't need to carry water, there are plenty of drinkable water sources along the path. The visit could take more than 2hs if you stop to enjoy the birds. Also alligators and snakes can be seen (snakes are hidden if not in summer or a very warm weather)

Fantastic park with some unusual birds and not only. Very well thought out. Great for its educational value also and the work they do to save endangered species and learn more about all creatures. Very nice helpful staff. I still feel bad for staying a little later than their usual closing time (not that any of them said anything!)- just got forgotten in there enjoying it so much. There is a nice shop, a terrace serving drinks and probably more. It has wifi so you can stay connected. A must!

Because it is next to the famous Iguazu Falls, I walked directly after finishing the trip to the waterfall. Tickets in 80 local currency are not cheap. There is a tropical rainforest feeling in the park. All kinds of birds can be photographed, and flashes are not allowed. Halfway through the journey in the park, I was thirsty and drank a coconut for 13 local coins. What impressed me most was that I caught a group of owls eating mice and pecked them one by one, which was very interesting.

This is a brilliant park to go and take your time to observe the birds and feel the nature. Very easy to get the tickets. I hope in the future the park shares a bit more what conservation work they have been doing and some of the stories that have experienced.

Amazing park, I liked it even more than waterfalls. It’s also very educational and we learnt a lot about Atlantic rainforest and all the birds. Makes you think about environment and treat it responsibly. Would love to come back! Big thanks to all the employees of the park for doing such an important work.

I absolutely loved this place. This place is so much fun. I came with my sister, nephew, and daughter. We all enjoyed it. I would recommend this place to anyone. The scenery was beautiful and all the animals were fun to see. I especially had so much fun in the parrot exhibit. We all kept looking around for the parrots flying above our head. The animals are not in captivity like a zoo which made it different. It was fun to see all the different types of birds and see everyone have fun. I got many great pictures from this place. I recommend coming here sometime.

Nice park. Well maintained and excellent to do with kids. The images you see of the Toucans up close it not with the regular ticket... You'll only see a few from a distance that way. We were a bit disappointed about that, nevertheless recommended. The tickets for backstage are too expensive in my opinion.

Absolutely beautiful experience that we enjoyed almost as much as waterfalls! We loved it being adults but I'm sure children will be fascinated with all the tropical bird species present in the park. It takes about 1.5~2hrs to casually walk through the premises. They showcase some of their conservative works and generally give an image of a park who respects the environment. There are plenty of staffs who remind the visitors of the rules. Birds have rather large cages, except one with ostrich (???) which was tiny, however there may be reasons behind it we are not aware of. There are also small butterfly and reptile spaces inside the park.

This park is a short walk from the entrance of the Falls National Park, and it can be completed within 2 hours. This is a sanctuary for birds, most native to the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. You get to walk on a paved path through native flora, and see the birds in their big cages. Some of the big cages you will get in, and walk through. There are endangered species of birds in this park, as well as butterflies and some reptiles. It was humid and hot when we went, and I wish I had brought a purse to put my jacket inside. The park staff is multilingual and all the signs are in Portuguese, Spanish and English. There are two little bars/restaurants inside, good to grab a quick bite. There is a souvenir store on your way out. The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas has a voucher which you can get from the concierge, and pay ahead or add to your room bill, but you still have to get in line to get the tickets at the park entrance.

Great variety of birds. And you can see them from inside their cages.

  • 5/5 Andrea C. 5 years ago on Google
Really awesome park, with all kinds of birds and reptiles. The animals are rescued and cannot get back into wildlife, so they are taken care of and helped survive. It's pretty close to the entrance of Iguazu national park, you can get there by foot. It's not even expensive, I think the entrance fee is fair.

A amazingly colourful experience. Beautiful birds at unexpected places. Some rare species too! I had hoped to see some Ara's flying around freely in the park, but unfortunately they were caged. Nonetheless pay a visit when you go to Iguazu! Like the next day, take your ID and stuff and travel a little into Brazil by bus. The bus leaves at the central bus station in the heart of Iguazu.

However, i went specifically to see toucans bur didn't get to see any! When I finished the trail and asked where they were, i was told they're all at the vet. Really good maintained park with different birds, mostly parrots but very beautiful ones. We were expecting more and different kinds of birds but maybe they were hiding because it was raining that day. It costa 70 reais for adult foreigners which is a fair price for the size of tge park and the amount of species we saw.

What a beautiful place to visit and what a remarkable work their people are doing to preserve the Atlantic coast’s rainforest flora & fauna! The visitors’ path from entrance to exit is one-way and easy to follow and guides one from one space to the next (open-air or caged) in a hassle-free manner. There is a restaurant and to enjoy snacks or refreshments closer to the end of the trail, amidst the beautiful area. It is a place DEFINITELY WORTH your time to visit for its massive educational value and its closeness to so many species! Being there reinforces your links with nature and strengthens our appreciation of biodiversity and the need to preserve it! Do not miss!

Right across the street from the Iguasu park entrance is this bird park. Founded by a man, continued by his daughter, nearly all the birds are rescues from illegal trafficking or injuries. The butterfly room was sparse and small, but the colorful and wide varieties of birds were very interesting. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is just magical. I would recommend every animal/bird lovers to take time and visit the park, as you are really immersed in the birds’ world. What is even more pleasant is the way they treat the animals : this isn’t a zoo, but a shelter for endangered species and hurt animals. The goal here is to release them afterwards and help them reproduce to save the species ! Although careful what you read online, the prices went up : it’s 85 reais per person if you are not from Brasil ;)

Tons of birds from the Atlantic rainforest. Takes an hour or so to walk through the entire place. Also has a nice cafe for a drink and a snack.

Amazing park, totally worth to visit. Tucanos were not there temporarily, except this, there are a lot of birds species to see.

Nice park with different birds. The most impressive giant parrots are in the end of the trail. But there is no Tucans we were looking for ;(
