China Town in Yokohama. Highly recommended to visit this place if you are a tourist. It can get really busy but that's a part of the Chinatown experience. You can easily find "all you can eat meals" for less than $10. I would highly recommend trying Street shops as well.

Aesthetically this Chinatown looks nice compared to other ones around the world that I’ve been to. It’s just quite far away from central Tokyo. I honestly wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want to eat. We walked through the whole Chinatown and all the shops sell the same items, you can’t even tell which ones are good or not since no one specializes in a certain dish they all just copy what’s trending. The only thing we ate here was a skewer of 4 different types of dumplings and it wasn’t that good.

Another must-do spots in Yokohama. Amazing, and decently priced Chinese Street food that won't get you sick *(unlike in America or mainland Asia) Peking duck wraps and stuffed dumplings are epic here.

You can’t miss visiting Chinatown in Yokohama. It has many food options and street food vendors to choose from. They have a couple colorful temples to visit and also souvenir shops. It is very vibrant and clean. We went on a Saturday and it was packed, they have parking lots all around or take the train.

It was so huge compared with Kobe China town. There are so many people, food, languages, culture and energy to enjoy. I got juicy dumplings from 鵬天閣 and steamed dumpling from 江戸清. I didn't expect much about tastes because usually most of the tourist spots are just expensive but it wasn't at all! Both tastes SO good! I am very satisfied. Also, I got an egg turt 紅綿 which is mild sweetness. You can enjoy different types of Chinese take out menu almost all day!

A wonderful place to come in Yokohama. It is nice to see a dedicated foreign neighbourhood in Japan. They sell a lot of chinese and taiwanese food. I like to come here and eat chinese dumplings and have chinese tea. A short walk from Motomachi Chukagai Station.

The largest Chinatown in Japan; it’s such an interesting location with loads of foreigners, foreigner-friendly services and liveliness typical of the Chinese. My favorite attraction here would have to be the food, all you can eat buffets are definitely what make the Chinese culinary culture probably the most generous(in terms of cost efficiency and size) in the world and tasty! I will definitely head back to Yokohama again just to visit this Chinatown.

It’s mostly all you can eat, which reduces the quality - nice vibes though! Beautiful with the neon lights at night.

China Town offers an enchanting experience that brings together an array of delectable cuisines and an energetic atmosphere. As a food enthusiast, I was thrilled to explore the diverse range of restaurants that this vibrant neighborhood had to offer. One of the standout aspects of China Town is the sheer variety of dining options available. Whether you're craving mouthwatering dim sum, fragrant noodles, or flavorful stir-fried dishes, you'll find it all here. I highly recommend visiting China Town at 10:30am, just before the crowds start to flock in. This time of the day allows you to beat the rush and enjoy a more relaxed dining experience. It's the perfect opportunity to savor your meal without feeling rushed, while also having the chance to engage with the friendly staff who are always ready to assist. Exploring China Town's labyrinthine streets, adorned with vibrant lanterns and captivating decorations, adds an extra layer of charm to the overall experience. The hustle and bustle of the area create a lively atmosphere that truly immerses you in the rich cultural tapestry of the neighborhood. While the restaurants themselves vary in size and ambiance, each one exudes its own unique charm. Whether you prefer cozy and intimate spaces or grand and bustling establishments, you'll find a restaurant that suits your preferences perfectly. Overall, my visit to China Town was a delightful culinary journey. The abundance of dining options, coupled with the inviting ambiance and friendly service, made it an experience to remember. I highly recommend starting your day at 10:30am to beat the crowds and fully immerse yourself in the flavors and culture of this lively neighborhood.

I went here on a weekday and it's not crowded. There are lots of restaurant to choose from. Almost every corner have food stalls or restaurants, some are fortune teller shops (which I haven't tried) Japan is so clean and this certain Chinatown is soooo nice that I had a pleasant time strolling around.

Went there Saturday night 11-19-2022 after Japan opened to tourist. It was crowded with tourist and locals. Many Chinese restaurant offering cuisines and foods from all over China. It was an enjoyable evening since this was my first time visiting Yokohama Chinatown. Recommend to come at night since all the neon lights add sparkles and charm, and increase the festive mood.

Definitely worth visiting if you're in Yokohama. Lots of tasty treats here and an interesting change of scenery in Japan. It's surprisingly big, although it can get pretty crowded.

Largest Chinatown in Japan. Stretching through multiple streets with over 500 stores ranging from food, fortune telling, shopping and entertainment. The place is filled with decorations and the atmosphere is vibrant, busy and filled with Chinese culture. The eateries are honestly filled with similar items and I believe the price differences are minimal. I don’t think the taste of the food is amazing or anything but that’s coming from a person of Chinese background. It’s just the experience of trying something slightly catered to Japanese or globally else where. Restaurants range differently, some booked out some hidden on other streets with different types of ethnic Chinese diversity restaurants. My Asian friends please keep your expectations normal. You’re here to try something slightly different but not far from home 😂😂😂. And for others just enjoy it but be mindful of the advertising tactics of some of the store. Self proclaiming as number one best selling is very… perspective. Other than that, just enjoy! To avoid crowds go in the day, to enjoy atmosphere go at night but expect crowds. Not far from station nor the Gundam Factory or Yamashita Park.

the place to look for the best snacks that must be visited, here there are many shops selling Chinese-style street food that must be tried. the price is also cheap in my opinion. The typical Chinese buildings lined up together also make an aesthetic impression in every photo you take. You can also find shops that sell typical Chinese medicine and spices, if you wish, there are also many fortune telling booths that you can visit at varying prices. There are many souvenir shops there too.

Too many good things to say about this place. SO much to do and so beautiful. Unfortunately the lanterns didn’t get lit at night when we went but it was still a very lit up beautiful area. If you go PLEASE TRY THE CANDIED STRAWBERRIES. They are amazing. Everyone is super friendly but not many speak English. So if you’re American be prepared to use google translate or take a Japanese/Chinese friend with you.

Very commercialized "Chinatown". A strong business-centric mood constantly blankets the entire area. People working or possibly living there lack any sort of enthusiasm or Chinese culture and community spirit, and are seemingly just blindly pushing services and goods to tourists. Unlike Chinatown in America per se that basically extols the lifestyles, cultures and practices of Chinese people, this Chinatown is more of a soulless business centre. Chinatown in Nagasaki has far better vibes and atmosphere. The town curiously appears to be inundated with taiwanese street food (boba tea, fried chicken cutlets, shaved ice etc) and fortune telling stalls not unlike those in Taipei, Taiwan. The rest are a mix of souvenirs stores and mostly restaurants offering Hong Kong and Cantonese dishes. Even the biggest temple there basically originates from Taiwan beliefs and religions (Mazu) - these temples are so "money" oriented, it's a gross disrespect to believers and deities honored there. I wouldn't recommend visiting Yokohama Chinatown. It's just so bland and lifeless, and honestly it's just so easy for one to do much better by just hopping over to say Taiwan or Hong Kong on a short flight and pretty much experience the real deal there.

It is well worth visiting ... a place with specialties of Chinese cuisine in the heart of Japan. Dishes well served, several options to choose from: - snacks, snacks, meals and drinks. Ah! The night has beautiful lighting from the shops

A fun experience if you are looking for a colorful and festive location to visit. The temples are exquisite and the alleyways are adorned with beautiful lanterns. The majority of the shops are geared towards souvenirs or food stalls.

Quite a nice walk but many repetitive items like soup dumpling, fried chicken, bubble tea, steamed buns, dim sum, fortune telling stores. Can visit if you are there, I don't think it needs special attention or a deliberate trip there.

Localize Chinese/ Hong Kong food. Those food is not taste like the actual food. Some of them are really bad and expensive. Have to be careful to choose the shop you go.

A very colorful street with plenty of amazing food options. Smaller than you would think but very packed. Actually has a distinct atmosphere to it as compared to other "nation" towns.

There are plenty of Chinese-Japanese restaurants in the area and you will simply be spoiled for choices. There are also a few Yokohama-specific souvenir shops along the main sightseeing street. Transportation is very convenient since there are nearby bus stops and subway stops.

Yokohama's Chinatown is supposed to be the biggest in whole Japan and I get to experience it while visiting. The place gets lovely and colorful especially at night when the lanterns lit up. There are many restaurants as well as souvenir stores, many are really good and reasonable price. Do check out the side alleys and discover hidden hole the wall shops. Highly recommend.

Plenty of store front to go stalls for quick eats. Didn't have enough room by the end of the main street to have a sit down meal. One of the nicer chinatowns I've been too. Including San Francisco, New York, Vancouver.

Not far from the center of Yokohama, Plenty of street food with reasonable price. And also a good looking street with a lots of neon. Best regards, Léo Fasel

Actually this place is over rated. Just regular food alley and some shops sell the same thing. Price is expensive too. One thing will be remembered is that man rest room in this station is the worst in my 10 days in Tokyo.

This Japan's largest Chinatown is a hub for authentic Chinese cuisine. The vibrant atmosphere is filled with a wide array of Chinese dishes. There are many stores offer similar items, so you can choose the restaurant you want. However, I did find that some of them employ rather uncomfortable tactics to attract customers, which made the experience a bit awkward.

  • 5/5 Allen B. 1 year ago on Google
Great vibes and great food at a good pricing nearby. Lots of traditional Chinese restaurants also nearby that comes at a much higher price range. We went to a all you can eat, Roshin Hanten for ~2500 yen and were satisfied with the favor and variety, although some portion sizes were a tad bit small 😅.

  • 5/5 Bill L. 7 months ago on Google
Just follow the people after exiting the trains a long underground tunnel. It was surprisingly huge from hundreds of restaurants, fortune telling, gift shops and health practices. There's a temple further back and a somewhat mall to dress cosplay and even fish pedicures. It would definitely take more than a weekend to explore the many alleys to sample dim sums, snacks, buns and cuisines. There's many entrance gates so you can remember your favourite shops. The largest Chinatown in the world.

  • 5/5 Hasini 7 months ago on Google
China town was very crowded when I was there . I think it is because of the long weekend . There were many que in most of the restaurants. Many restaurants have packages around 2000-3000 yen for unlimited foods. Gyosai is the delicious dish I had. There were 3 China temples to visit, but all were similar in design.

One of the most decorated Chinatown I have been too! It’s like you stepped into another world. Better set up and decorations than most of Asia and Europe. Lots of Chinese food, shops and shopping. Had a great time walking and eating around this place. Highly recommended if you are going Yokohama.

  • 4/5 Tze Shyang F. 4 months ago on Google
I'm already Chinese and why bother seeing Chinatown right? Wrong.. that's precisely the point. To see how our race fare in other countries and why Yokohama Chinatown is the biggest in Japan. This trip was made in the morning to see businesses opening up and selling their wares and food. Was a busy and bustling atmosphere and evenings will be even more packed I believe. Thoroughly enjoyed the street food and talking to the people there but I would advise against buying the strawberry sugar coated sticks early in the morning as they are frozen, and avoid the pearls in the milk tea they sell as the texture isn't right, not chewy enough and too soft. Everything else is great.

It is a very lively place with a lot of street food, restaurants, and other shops. Since it is very close to the warehouse, it can be visited straight after for food instead of eating at the warehouse food court.

Great feel of china in Japan. Most of the shopkeepers are of Chinese origin & they give you feel as you are in china. Chinese dishes, sweets, grocery everything you can find here. Many shops of fortune tellers are also there! If you believe, you can show your hands to them :)

Yokohama Chinatown, I heard even Japanese people come here for Chinese food so it’s definitely not bad Very different vibe compared to the rest of Yokohama We walked several stores and got siu mai and xiaolongbaos which were very good Also a good selection of restaurants but they were popular and most of them you have to queue for at least 30 min at night dinner times

  • 3/5 Stephen G. 1 year ago on Google
You definitely get a feeling like you're in Chinese culture. The food was just okay though. I think some Chinese restaurants in the city are more authentic. Also, because of the crowds it's hard to really enjoy the atmosphere because you're trying to weave through people and waiting in long lines.
