Temple is powerful and premises are clean. The management committee must stop VIP ticket racket and Pandas greedily circulating like hawks looking for prey. Divinity is lost when there is greed.

Walking up the steps of Kamakhya Temple felt like entering a place filled with both history and reverence. The air was filled with the smell of incense, and the sounds of bells and prayers created a special atmosphere. Inside, the temple walls were adorned with intricate carvings, each telling stories from ages ago. The inner sanctum was especially powerful, with priests chanting and devotees praying with heartfelt devotion. The heart of the temple held a unique stone symbolizing the divine feminine. People bowed in respect, and the air was filled with the soothing aroma of burning camphor. Outside, the view of the Brahmaputra River and the green hills of Guwahati added to the beauty of the experience. Pilgrims shared smiles and stories, creating a sense of connection. Leaving Kamakhya Temple, I carried with me the feeling of a journey into the spiritual soul of Assam—a blend of rituals, culture, and a timeless connection to something greater. It wasn't just a visit; it was a meaningful exploration that left a lasting impression.

It is a famous and respected temple of the Hindus. It is situated on top of a hill in Guwahati. Thousands of devotees come to offer their respects here. One has to reach the temple by early morning at 5 am so as to get darshan by 10 am, that too through purchase of tickets worth Rs 501.

If u ever visit Guwahati, dont miss a chance to visit Kamakhya temple❤️🙏. . . The temple is situated a few kilometers away from the Guwahati Railway Station, and is open for visitors throughout the year. There is a legend attached to the history of the temple, which goes way back to the mythological age. According to the legend, Sati the wife of Lord Shiva (one of the holy Trinities in Hindu mythology) took her life at a 'Yagna' ceremony that had been organized by her father Daksha, because she could not bear the insults hurled at her husband by her father. On hearing the news of his wife's death, Shiva, the destroyer of all that was evil flew into a rage and punished Daksha by replacing his head with that of a goat. Torn between misery and blind fury, Shiva picked up the corpse of his beloved wife Sati and performed a dance of destruction called the 'Tandava'. The intensity of the destroyer's fury was so overwhelming that it took several Gods to pacify his anger. In the midst of this struggle, Sati's corpse accidentally got cut into 51 parts by the disc in the hands of Lord Vishnu (also one of the Trinities in Hindu mythology), and her female genitalia or 'Yoni' fell on the spot where the Kamakhya temple stands today, forming one of the many Shakti 'Peethas' embellishing the rest of her body parts.

Shaktipeeth Temple , having a very unique story and marks respect for women. It takes a lot of time to visit but with VIP pass of 501/- it's quite easier. It's having value for miracles occurring if you ask something wholeheartedly for your children. Once the visit is over there's a feeling of immense peace.

I have no words to express the spirituality of maa kamakhya. Wonderful experience. In these days of COVID situation, you need to show Rapid antigens test report to the office near the entrance gate. If all good then they will give a pass for darshan inside garv greh. If not then you can enter the temple premise and do puja only. If you don’t have report then there are camps doing it in the city down the hill. Report comes in max 1-2 hrs. Temple opens at 8am in winters. Due to COVID there was no rush in morning. At 7:30am there were only 10-15 people ahead of me. Darshan was peaceful and pandit jee gave enough time. Wonderful... Please do plan to visit this temple and be blessed!

That's a best experience for every people to see the temple. Such a lot of places and sculpture to explore. At first the stairs to move upward there is various shops besides the stairs. Then some shops for depositing the shoes and dali for worship. After that there is various line for enter to the temple for the pilgrimage. The line is well maintained by the temple authority. The sculpture of temple really attracts to every people, mainly the temple is a cave. But inside the temple well cleaned and so cool. Everyone should visit the place.

Excellent temple, well managed. Can be more cleaner. Plan ahead, general darshan typically is very difficult, one will have to wait several hours before darshan. The Special/VIP darshan costs 500 per person. One should get to the temple gates by 5 to 515am, this helps in getting the first set of entry tickets. The ticket counter opens at 6am and the darshan starts at 8am. They make the people who have tickets into a AC room for about couple of hours from the time you get the tickets. Then batch by batch you are allowed inside another holding area, and then subsequently for darshan. We followed the above and got good darshan. From 8am, it took us about 1hr to get darshan. There another batch that starts around 1pm ticket sales and darshan from 230pm. You also get to see the Dasha Maha Vidhya temples around the Kamakhya temple. Inside the main temple you can see Kamalambigai and Matangi. Outside the main building just near the ticket counter you find Sheetaladevi. On the right side of Sheetaladevi there is an exit taking you to another temple for Dhumavati and below that is Balabhairavi. Once you come out of the Kamakhya Mandir there is a set of temples as you climb down for Taradevi, Mahakaali and Chinnamastha. Once you get to the road, further above by road, in about a kilometre there is Bagalamukhi and further up the mountain road in about another 2kms there is Buvaneshwari temple.

The temple is basically located at the upper part of Nilachal Hill, Guwahati, Assam. You can find all kinds of vehicles from lower part(Kamakhya Temple Gate)to the upper most part of the hill, where the temple is situated. The easiest and cheapest way to reach the temple by boarding on a bus, which stops near the gate. These are Assam Government operated AC Electric Bus, costs Rs.10/- each runs from Paltan Bazar to Kamakhya Temple on a frequent interval. Otherwise you can take taxi/auto-rickshaw on sharing which costs Rs.20-30/- each. Buses are available from Maligaon Chariali to Kamakhya Temple gate. Kamakhya Temple is about 5-6km from here. In Kamakhya Temple there is always rush, so please visit as early as possible. Lots of shops are available where you can take off your footwears, they will tale care of them and you have to buy some 'Prasad' from the shop before entering the temple. If you are visiting for the very first time, it is better to have a priest, they will guide you and you have to pay them. If you are willing to visit the temple with your team mate, you can. After completing the Puja, there are many good hotels available at moderate price where you can eat. The journey from bottom to the top of the is so eye-catching. There are some view points also, you can stop there and watch the whole city lying in the lap of the hill. Great journey.

Kamakhya Temple sits on a hill and is dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. The hill's view adds to the beauty. Crowds, especially during festivals, can be overwhelming. The rituals are fascinating, but some maintenance could improve. They also serve free food at certain times. It's a peaceful place for self-reflection. Overall, visiting the temple was a profoundly moving and enriching experience for the soul.

The Kamakhya Temple is a truly captivating and revered sanctuary in India. Its architectural grandeur and the profound spiritual atmosphere it exudes left me utterly amazed. The breathtaking panoramic view from the hill where the temple stands further enriched my experience. Nevertheless, the substantial crowds, particularly during festivals, can be a bit overwhelming. The intricate rituals and ceremonies conducted within were captivating to witness, although there's room for improvement in certain areas of maintenance. All in all, embarking on a journey to this temple proved to be a deeply moving and soul-enriching experience.

The main attraction of Assam *Maa Kamakhya*. We reached there by bus on 31st July'21 and due to the pandamic a mandatory RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) test facility is there. Once will only allow to reach the temple if he/she has a negative report. Previously done report is also accepted there. From there one have to take a rental car worth 40/- for 5km. The temple area is so beautiful. A holy place that will mesmerize you. Jai Maa Kamakhya 🙏

Counted among the most sacred shaktipeethas (devotional shrines where the severed body parts of Goddess Sati fell), the temple is believed to be the place where the womb of the goddess fell. Kamakhya is known as the symbolic spot where Sati used to meet Lord Shiva, retire in secret to satisy her amour with Lord Shiva. This temple is known for its uniqueness wherein it has no figure or image of the Goddess. Inside the temple, a cave is present at the corner of which, on a stone a Yoni has been carved. Also the way to temple is also good you will get a scenic view to click photos.

•A place of many people's unwavering faith, Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati is a major destination for all the people seeking spirituality, peace and devotion. •It was my third time visiting here but this time i decided to go inside the main shrine, the journey to which is an experience. It will put your devotion and patience to test. •After standing in the queue for around 6 hours, we reached the main shrine. •There are VIP lines also where you have to pay Rs. 501 to get early access in there. •You'll be amazed by the level of devotion people have in today's date. It is almost overwhelming. •I would recommend to get started early morning to be able to complete the tasks before noon itself. •To mention, the environment of the area is really calming and gives you positive vibes. •A visit is recommended for those who believe and spirituality and finding inner peace. •In the noon, there is distribution of free lunch for which you'll have to get coupon and stand in the queue.

The Kamakhya Temple, one of the most famous and spiritual temples in all of India. It's one among the 51 'Shaktipeeths'. This holy temple of 'Maa Kamakhya' located at the top of Nilachal Hills in Guwahati, Assam. A large number of devotees come here throughout the year to have the 'Darshan' of 'Maa Kamakhya'. It was a long awaited wish of my mother to visit this temple once and to fulfill her wish we came to Assam. So after getting the incredible opportunity to visit here, I want to share my experience so that there is no inconvenience to the devotees. This temple is one of the most revered centres of Tantric Practices. The 8th-9th century architecture of the temple and it's surroundings feels a spiritual calmness that is hard to put into words. We visited the temple at very early morning around 5:30 am. Just after leaving our UBER, some worship items seller just beside the main road told us that we can't visit the temple with shoes, so we have to drop our shoes over there and additionally we have to buy the worship items. Apart from these roadside shops, you will find similar shops closer to the temple. Okay, now talking about the line system. There were two line systems for the devotees. One is general line (free) and one is VIP line (Rs. 501/- per head ticket). If you want to visit the "Garvagriha" of the temple with general line, you'll get free general tickets from the roadside counter. The general queue starts from almost 2am midnight, but the line opens for the temple on approximately 6:15 am. It takes almost 10-12 hours to worship the goddess if you can't join this general line very early morning. I mentioned another way to visit there and that is VIP line. The VIP tickets counter opens twice a day, at 6:30 am and near about 12:30 am. The Temple committee sell very limited amount of tickets everyday (almost 300-400 tickets at the First phase and almost 100 tickets at Second phase of the day). Devotees who managed to get the VIP tickets, will get AC waiting room over there. Devotees with the first phase tickets can enter inside the temple on the first half but devotees with the second phase tickets can enter inside the temple after 2pm. The temple is closed for sometime at the noon. The whole temple area is covered with free WiFi. Washrooms, Resting places are there. The door of the temple remain open for near about 7pm everyday. I hope my experience is helpful for the devotees who want to visit there in future. I went there on October, 2023. So the information I mentioned regarding the temple may change with time.

Kamakhya Temple, nestled atop a lush hill in Assam, was a spiritual revelation. The serene ambiance, resonating chants, and stunning architecture captivated me. The powerful energy and devotion of pilgrims left an indelible mark. Witnessing the sacred rituals and panoramic views of Guwahati made it a truly memorable visit

If you go by 5.30am normal day it takes 3 hrs for free line and 1.5 hrs for paid one of Rs 501. But if you wanna feel comfortable n less time then undoubtedly go for Rs 501. No point rethinking as that will definitely save time.

Its one of the *शक्तिपीठ* आऊट ऑफ 51 शक्तीपीठास in India. Must visit. But its really SAD & Pathetic to see the "बली of poor animals like goats/sheeps & other animals on the name of बली to Goddess Kamakhya... It should be stopped and those who perform and offer this बली will नेव्हर be blessed by Goddess. Its just murdering the animals for the sake of their instinct to eat flesh... Oh Goddess... Do something.... Jay Kamakhya! हर हर महादेव

1st dont visit on Tuesdays or on holidays. We visited on 26 Dec, a Tuesday and in holiday seasons. We reached late, about 9:30 am. The queue was more than 2 thousands then. The Rs 500vip counter was already closed. (I guess VIP counter sells limited number of tickets) We had no other option but to queue. The line moves very slowly - an exam of patience in true sense. Seemed that we could reach not before 5 in the evening. There are 4 options for quick "Darshan" 1) Reach before 8 am and grab your VIP tickets of Rs 500. The vip ticket counter opens by 8. 2) Fix a panda one day prior to your visit and ask him to buy VIP tickets next morn for you definitely at extra cost. 3) If you are influencial, then get a VVIP pass issued from Police and have a free entry via the exit door. and finally if you fail in all 3 above options use the DESI TECHNIQUE.... 4) Negotiate with a Panda or priest loitering around the main temple and get an entry through the exit gate smoothly like the VVIPs. Now dont ask me how I did.

Oh Beauty ❤️. So I'm born and raised here at Guwahati and from 1996 to 2021 I have visited this a numerous time. Today on the occasion of Saraswati Puja I decided to visit Kamakhya with lots of time in my hand so that I can share my review. And ever since from my childhood I have seen a lot of changes here trying to make this place more recognized, organised and easy to access with no hustle for the visitors. People across the world come here to take blessings from maa kamakhya, it's a magical place once you enter here you feel so positive the atmosphere here is very refreshing. The Nilachal Hill has a great historical, archeological as well as religious importance. About the maintenance I would say 10/10. Infact I was stunned to see the washrooms here, lots of improvisation has been done and really appreciate it. One must takeout some time to visit here and experience the miracle. Jai Maa Kamakhya🙏

The Kamakhya Temple is a Sakta temple devoted to the deity Kamakhya. This temple is similarly recognized as Kamrup-Kamakhya temple and is among the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas, and is located on the western portion of the Nilachal Hill, Guwahati Assam, India. I really enjoyed the trip to Kamakhya temple. On the way towards the temple you'll enjoy good scenic beauty. Overall, it was a great experience.

If you belief in God you will definitely feel the vibe of this place.wich is wow. As a man, I had an experience of realizing the greatness of women power and instilling a sense of respect towards women power. If you are the father of daughters, then I request you to make your daughters visit here and give them the knowledge to be proud of being a woman. This temple shows the attitude of Hindu religion towards respect for women power. 🕉️🗽🇮🇳

Earlier this temple was great. No doubt now also Kamakhya temple is a very great place for Hindu but the priest available here and not good they just demand money for small small things. They make the entry procedure very complicated and if you want to visit then you have to buy rupees 500 ticket for VIP line.

No doubt the temple is beautiful and powerful! But there is a scam going on which the temple trust or Government needs to look after... The priest are just looting people in every corner of the temple and they won't look at you if you don't pay them nor they will bless you instead they will give a look at you like this😒.... The management is also the worst! Just go and look how they have kept the premises... Really pathetic! And people have thrown litters everywhere on the pathway!

Jai Maa Kamakhya 🙏 I recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, and it was a truly enchanting experience. The temple's architecture and serene surroundings exude a sense of spiritual tranquility that's hard to put into words. I was particularly drawn to the temple's sanctity and the sense of peace that envelops you as you step onto its sacred grounds. The ambiance is captivating, and you can sense the devotion that permeates the air. A visit to Kamakhya Temple is not just a journey for the soul but also a treat for the eyes and the camera lens. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a profound spiritual experience and the opportunity to document the beauty of this sacred place.

Temple is open. Recently had chance to do worship of maa kamakhya devi. I believe she really can hear our voices. If you want to visit place you have to go early morning. Temple Timing is 7:30AM to 4 PM. Please go by your own method of worships not recommending in Panda. If you want to do more worship or other kind of ritual then you can go. They are very helpful. I have visited on my own and krupa of maa kamakhya devi. ***** Following Procedures Now****** 1. 2nd Dose Covid Certificate and ID proof you can show on mobile for registration. 2. One person can register their family no need to que up all member. 3. To save your time you keep one person in Temple que as well so once registration done you can visit. 4. They leave only 20 people once. 5.I have to appreciated temple management. 6. Most important maa kamakhya ka blessings always needed.

The history of temple is amazing ! A must visit. Just know the history before makes it worth while it’s too crowded most of the times. Just plan out accordingly . There are 500rs ticket and 1k ticket per pax which are available on certain time slots. Should be brought in the temple itself . From 4am the general queue as well gets started which is free The view point on the way is good as well.

Amazing temple in Guwahati to visit on a hill top. Went in the evening and the crowd was manageable. Was able to stand in the queue and enter the temple within an hour. Due to the flyover construction that is going on there was traffic on the road towards the temple. However when the construction of the huge flyover is complete the traffic should ease out.

Best place for religious person. I visited this tample. It's situated amid beautiful nature. Sometimes crowdy near temple. But overall best place. Hills are covered with green trees. Views just awesome. It can be a good destination for nature lovers. Family tour or group tour can be done here. Accommodation is present in a huge number. But rush is seen in peak season. Otherwise okay. You can spend your holiday here without any tensions.

Kamakhya Temple, a mesmerizing wonder nestled in Assam, embodies spiritual allure. Its enigmatic aura and breathtaking architecture offer a divine experience. Devotees are drawn to the temple's mystical energies, believed to emanate from the sacred Kamakhya Devi. The scenic Nilachal Hill backdrop adds to the temple's charm. Kamakhya Temple is not just a place of worship; it's a testament to India's rich cultural heritage and spiritual fervor, making it a must-visit destination for seekers of both inner peace and architectural marvels.

Thousands of devotees come here from all over India and abroad. Average time to visit the goddess 4 to 5 hours in General que whereas paid visit (@501/_ each) takes much lesser time. In our case it was about 30 minutes in the afternoon. But what we noticed the general line was very disciplined, well arranged, peaceful and not so painful because there are enough sitting arrangements with sufficient fans and even AC was seen.

Going to Kamakhya Temple is like a special trip uphill. The temple looks very pretty with its designs. People do special things there to feel close to their gods. During festivals, like Ambubachi, it's even more exciting and busy.

One of the shakti peet of divine Goddess mata.  Kamakhya Devi Temple is not just a place of worship but a symbol of the divine feminine energy that permeates through the cultural fabric of India. Visiting the temple was a profoundly moving and enriching experience for the soul. Kamakhya Temple sits on Nilachal Hill and hill's view adds to the beauty. Crowds, especially during festivals, can be overwhelming. The rituals are fascinating, but some maintenance work need to be done ans facilities can be improved for tourist traveling from long distance. They also serve free food at certain times. It's a peaceful place for self-reflection.

One of the most powerful temple of Devi. Just simply visit this temple and feel the energy of Devi. You may feel low while waiting in queue but wait for Devi darshan ..you will forget every pain. One simple advice, while waiting in queue try to be in silence instead chit-chating , you will definitely feel that energy of this powerful temple.

A trip to Guwahati is incomplete without a visit to Kamakhya temple. The visiting times are 8AM to 1 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. General tickets are free of cost, whereas devotees booking a ₹501 ticket get some preference. General ticket holders need to stand in the queue, starting at the information center (near car drop point). The paid visitors need to go up to the top till the arch, where a waiting room is meant for them. Volunteers will manage the queues. Management within the temple premise is very professional. There is well maintained & clean restrooms. Tobacco usage is prohibited. Photography in the inner sanctum is restricted. On weekends, holidays & special occasions, the wait time is more. Once done here, one can move up the hill to visit Bhuvaneshwari temple. This is currently under construction but provides a beautiful view if the Bramhaputra river & Guwahati. Must visiting.

I didn't like it for some reason. Outside shop keeper run after you to drop your footwear there and buy something from. Its good foe local economy but after a time it looks like harrasment to devotees and tourist. After entering in Temple it was good feeling but then suddenly I saw slaughter house inside and one big animal may be cow recently slaughtered. There were many small goats (lambs) I was feeling sad to see them getting ready to be cut. Overall, temple is good but people around and locals are making it bad.
