Had an awesome experience with Spruce Meadows. The facility is very clean and posh. They take really good care of the facility, the horses, and the staff. Spruce Meadows is located just outside Calgary’s city limits... really close to nearby Calgarian communities. I recommend coming here early (as the crowds file in around noon). Lots of things to do around early July. They have a skate show, horse shows, vendors, patios, kids activities, and many more things. There are also lots of shops to purchase souvenirs, accessories, and clothing. In my opinion this is a “must-see” for tourists visiting the Calgary area. I look forward to coming back next summer!

Located south of Calgary, this place offers amazing grounds for show competitions and contests. The grounds are immaculately kept and has tons of amenities. The staff is welcoming and pleasant to deal with. The private boxes offer nice views of the fields. Food and drinks are delicious. Overall if you get the chance, I recommend checking it out.

Love coming here for our annual christmas light visit! Beautiful set up for all ages. A little bit of walking and it can get icy (our kiddo slipped a couple times) so be prepared for that. They have a little food area with hot chocolate and such and a little fire pit by the big tree. Really a great little night out.

I went to the Spruce Meadows Christmas Market today. It was extremely busy and everyone seemed to be having a good time. There are lots of arts and crafts vendors and many places to eat or just grab a coffee. For the kids there is even a petting zoo. Plenty of parking.

We had the great opportunity to visit Spruce Meadows over the weekend to take part on their north American tournament. The entire day was full of great events for all the families, excellent entertainment, awesome food. Their grounds are very well kept everywhere is clean. The girls attending the food stands so awesome and polite. Cost of everything was very good. A huge plus at the end of our visit they have many shuttle golf carts taking you around if you needed, we did omg!! After a hot day of fun with kids my legs 🦵 were done so shuttle golf cart all the way to our cart was awesome. Definitely recommend you to vist. We will absolutely go back. Thank you Spruce Meadows your team is doing an excellent job 👏 👍.

I frequent the grounds for the Cavalry FC football(soccer)matches. It's a beautiful venue that is maintained tremendously. The food offered during games is typical. Beer, burgers, hotdogs. I believe they have tacos and periogies as well. The beer provider is Wild Rose and it would be nice to have a lighter lager available. There's plenty of washrooms on site, and handwashing stations. A bonus is the beautiful horses on site and the super lawn care. Ample parking as well, cash and credit options as well. It's a bit of a drive from center or north parts of town so make sure to leave early incase traffic backs up. Cheers

It’s nice to go there in Summer or Christmas. Usually they have different events in there and it’s fun to be around. Everything is very expensive there though. If you don’t want to spend that much money make sure to take your snacks, water or drinks. I’m not sure if you’re allowed to take your alcoholic drinks but you should be able to take everything else.

Beautiful xmas lights on so many trees; however, we went on a Saturday evening and got in the line-up going West on Stoney into Spruce Meadows at 7pm and were in line for 3 hours! Not worth that wait.

Spruce Meadows is one of the top equestrian centres in the world. Top class service thanks to army of volunteers who appear to enjoy their work. Looks after seniors well with free admission and golf carts from.numerous car parks. Lot of shopping options. Would like some cheaper food options as presently a $7.50 sandwich is the cheapest . they excel at the presentations during major events. Great military displays. Lovely statues around the grounds. The flowers in the rings are always excellent. The ring crews work well to get events off on time in any weather.

Re MARKT - outrageous shipping fees Just an FYI my daughter spent hours purchasing some of her favourite Christmas items and was shocked at the checkout when the shipping cost was $160.00. I later gave it a try and they wanted $27.00 shipping on a $26.50 order. Save yourself some time and don’t bother with this.

Truly a world class facility with tons to offer horse lovers from all around the world. Horse racing, sales of championship stock, training for athletes, and horses alike, just to scratch the surface. Also each Christmas they offer almost 75KM of the most amazing Christmas lights atop massive Christmas trees in a scene sure to bring out the Christmas spirit in just about everyone! Truly an epic and beautiful sight that each of us should behold at least once in our lives! :)

Spruce Meadows Christmas market is great! Expect to spend 3+ hrs. There is lots of vendors to choose from. Also, Spruce Meadows is great on Canada day! Go watch the horse jumping competition. Great for families. Spruce Meadows also does a light up, you can drive around for free during the holidays.

We visited for their annual Christmas Market and it was magical. So much for adults and kids alike. Amazing stalls at good price points and a decent food offering.

Beautiful Christmas lights display. Came with my family on Christmas Eve and we had a wonderful time. Drive thru light show for the whole family. Lots of people here so there's was a huge light but we had a great time for about an hour. If you never been I highly recommend a visit next holiday.

  • 3/5 Soro F. 2 years ago on Google
Nothing special at Christmas lights Drive thro Other than burn gas for a long line almost 45min on road to reaching out the entrance to see same light all over again It's a shame on a big company like westjet and Atco gas with out making this place something special

To be fair I’m an adult so if you have kids it might actually be a nice car ride/ light show for them. I wasn’t tooo pleased. It’s maybe about 5 minutes to drive through…because everyone is going about 5km. Sadly I definitely wouldn’t do again or recommend to anyone unless you would enjoy a car ride and something to do during the holidays. In that case why not! Go enjoy

Bang on balance between indoor-outdoor atmosphere for the Christmas Market. So many small businesses showcasing all the wonderful things they've to offer. I personally don't drive and the red arrow shuttle made the commute so easy and the drivers are the sweetest folks.

  • 5/5 Murray M. 2 years ago on Google
The Spruce Meadows Christmas Market was a classy experience. Of course it's a market, but the Christmas music and holiday spirit made it an enjoyable experience. The signage for each vendor is clearly and consistently presented, helping you ascertain easily which you'd like to stop at as your peruse. The vendors were so friendly and helpful (unlike a few other fairs/markets where the 'staff' are not so interested in you or helping you).

Much smaller Christmas market but still very enjoyable. Love the atmosphere. Was nice to participate.

Always fantastic venues, organization of world class events with participants from around the world. Our go to place with family. For big events sponsors usually orginizing great activities for kids, bouncy castles, face paintings, multiple games with real prizes. And of course horse arenas for events are next level

It was a beautiful and stunning evening with all Christmas theme lights on every tree and facilities. Large parking area as well. Who ever did this surely, did an excellent job to put up those lights. From my opinion, this place is well managed. Good job!

I usually go here to watch the Equestrian show jumping competitions. They are mostly free to go and sit and watch. Usually my family and I pack a hearty lunch, snacks and drinks and make a day of it. The kids really enjoy watching the horses. Afterwards you can always take a stroll through the stables and look at the horses. If you are lucky you can meet some of the riders and owners and have a chat with them. I visited earlier this year (Jan 2nd & 3rd 2021) for the last days of the Spruce Meadows Christmas Lights Drive through. It was a beautiful, magical experience. I can't wait till the coronavirus is under control so that we can get the true Christmas experience with ice skating, Christmas Market and more. I would also love to get back to taking the kids to watch the horses again. There is also a cool little train that the kids can take a ride around the grounds on and a carousel that you can get tickets for them to ride. All in all, a great place for family fun.

Beautiful holiday lighting in Calgary. It was drive-through about a 10-15 minutes visit with family.

  • 1/5 Chris C. 3 years ago on Google
Review based on Christmas lights display - unable to attend due to prohibitive traffic to enter. James Mckevitt Blvd & 22X was a 30 min wait to travel 500 yards. Anticipate a ONE HOUR wait just to enter the facility to see the lights. Then there is the exit.. imagine if emergency services had to enter the area?? Many many vehicles doing u-tirns to get out while they could. Unbelievable that there is no traffic control measures in place. City Council has shut everything down, yet refuses to invest in making a positive experience for those wishing to attend the few things that remain available to go do. Hire some pay-duty police to direct traffic please! Do not waste your time heading down there this year.

One of the best place in city for Christmas lights. They have also made small pavilions as well to showcase different events of christmas. They also have market and skating ring as well. Ample of parking available for guests and specially made walking corridors to enjoy the view by walk. Must visit place in Calgary during Christmas.

Huge place, with absolutely beautiful light displays at Christmas time. World renowned equestrian centre. Driving through at the holiday season is a true delight, and definitely worth coming back year after year! Bring the family and enjoy an idyllic little drive together. This is the site of some important events in the equestrian world during the summer as well, from what I understand.

This is quite an amazing place. I am especially amazed by their Christmas theme where their popcorn vendor is to-die-for. Mmmmm all the goodies ... they also have reindeer. Aside from their Christmas theme, I’ve watched Spruce Meadows on television growing up.

Spruce Meadows is such a fantastic place to visit! In the summertime the staff of Spruce Meadows does such a wonderful job of coordinating all the competitions and events that happen; including the safety of all horses, riders, and visitors. They have an array of food and drink selections and the lines are never super long. The prices are really good as well so it's easy enough to grab something quick without feeling like your spending a fortune. The biggest thing I love about Spruce Meadows is their ability to bring and entertain thousands of people each year and still have the price of entrance at 5$ per person (standard adult admission). It's lovely because my family and I can go multiple times a year (which of course we try to go to every event). Spruce Meadows is also a kid friendly and dog friendly facility (dogs have to be on leashes and they can't go in some places, so read up on that on their website). It's an overall amazing experience and I'd highly recommend going no matter what!
