I recently had the opportunity to visit Don Quijote Asakusa, and I must say, it was quite an experience. Don Quijote is a well-known retail chain in Japan, and this particular branch lived up to its reputation as a unique and bustling shopping destination. The store itself is massive, spanning an impressive 6 or 7 floors. As you enter, you're greeted by a couple of fish tanks housing massive eels, which adds an intriguing touch to the ambiance. The sheer size of the store can be overwhelming at first, as you're immediately surrounded by a wide variety of products and enticing deals. One of the highlights of the store was the first floor, which was a haven for snack and treat enthusiasts. It offered an extensive selection of snacks and treats from various regions, allowing visitors to explore the diverse flavors of Japan. I particularly enjoyed spending time on this floor, indulging in the delightful shopping experience. Considering the high volume of customers, I was pleasantly surprised by the relatively clean and well-maintained environment of the store. Despite the constant foot traffic, the shelves were well-stocked, and I didn't come across any empty shelves during my visit. Don Quijote excels in providing a vast array of products, ensuring that shoppers can find almost anything they're looking for. However, I did have a minor complaint about some floors where numerous vocal ads were played at ear level and at a volume that was way too loud. This made the shopping experience a bit unpleasant, as it created an unnecessarily noisy atmosphere. On the positive side, Don Quijote Asakusa offers tax-free shopping for tourists, which is definitely a bonus for travelers looking to purchase souvenirs or beauty products. Just remember to bring your passport and ensure that your total purchase exceeds 5500 yen to avail of this benefit. In conclusion, Don Quijote Asakusa is undeniably a super fun store to visit, and it's worth stopping by when exploring the main districts of Japan. With its vast range of products, it's an excellent place to find unique souvenirs and explore the world of Japanese snacks and treats. While the presence of loud vocal ads can be a downside, overall, Don Quijote Asakusa offers an exciting and memorable shopping experience. Side Note: Pokemon Cards: They have a vending machine outside where you can get a few cards for I believe 500 Yen but that was only sign of Pokemon Cards I saw.

This place is insane. Apparently open 24 hours. It’s the best place to get souvenirs. I spent a lot of time in the snack section. Come take a look for yourself.

We went here before the pandemic and experienced the worst customer service we ever had in our lives. To think that we were in Japan where customer service is supposed to be excellent. We encountered the cashier from hell at this branch of Don Quijote. We've been to many branches of Don Quijote, but this was the first time we encountered such bad service. The guy, who I'm sure wasn't Japanese (might be Korean or Chinese), was not only rude and impolite, but he was shouting at me and my wife for minor things. When we were waiting in line to pay, our cart accidentally crossed the line on the floor where carts should wait. He shouted at us immediately. We were shocked. Then when he was processing our items he talked to us very rudely. When my wife asked him a question about the tax refund he answered so rudely that my wife lost her cool and answered back at him asking him why he is so rude. He then shouted at my wife, and my wife shouted back. They had a shouting match right there and then. No supervisor or manager even came. Unbelievable how they treat customers. When we were going back to our hotel, we couldn't believe such a thing happened to us in Japan. We have been to Japan many times, and this was the first time we experienced such bad behavior and service. It was definitely not very Japanese, and even in other countries, that kind of behavior from an employee would be considered very horrible. Not coming back to this branch. Actually, after that incident, I lost interest in Don Quijote.

Nice will come again. But I miss the Don Quijote store at Yokohama. More variety.

This branch is so pretty outside. Had so many great photos the front. Im not sure if it's a regular thing but when we went here, there was a party and performances outside. Downside was it looks huge but it only has 4 floors inside. Shibuya branch was bigger if you really need to shop for more things to bring home.

Great selection for everyday needs and then some! This was the local Don Qui near us during our stay in Asakusa, and we frequented this site many times for souvenirs, outerwear, personal items, snacks, and even bought an extra luggage case as well. This place has everything! The store itself was kept up with, staff was friendly, and the selections were limitless. The only downside was a dirty bathroom. Otherwise, I definitely recommend stopping here for literally anything you may need!

Conveniently located near Sensoji Temple. I like the layout and design of the store. The selection of goods is quite wide. Some Don Quijote locations has less inventory/goods. (Ex. Kinshicho location is a smaller building) I think the Akihabara one is bigger, and the ones that says Mega Don Quijote is definitely larger. This one would be mid size. The 1st floor can be a little challenging to move around when busy though. But overall it's a good store.

Goods are more expensive than most other stores but has an extensive array of choices, especially for snacks and souvenirs. The store layout is very confusing and the space is very tight with so much goods everywhere. Reach 5,000 yen and get tax-free prices.

There was this rude staff in this branch. I took a box of cup noodles on top of a shelf when he snatched it angrily. Not politely, just to return it on the shelf. I think its the same guy that Luciano. S. was talking about in his review of this branch a week or two ago since i went there just last week too. Other than that, the rest of the staff at the check out were very polite and helpful, just as you would expect in any other Donqi.

Sensory overload, like every other Donki store. A good place to get cheap snack souvenirs. For tourists, note that the tax-free checkout counter is on the second floor.

One of the best DQs. Has everything and is open 24/7. Great stop to spend a couple of hours and look through an assortment of the best collection of random stuff!

This place is huge and you can find pretty much anything here from foods, liquors, japanese traditional products, toys, etc. This place is also open for 24 hours. If you are a tourist, don't forget to bring your passport for tax free shopping.

Well, too much for me! It's like wandering around the insides of a fruit machine, pinball machine and a mad retailer's lair all in one! I suppose it depends on what you're looking for, but all I found was a few grocery items. I might end up buying some fridge magnets and character socks as gifts, but the rest is too much for my senses. AND they have a few Moray eels in a tank at the entrance! What's that about! 🤪🤔🥴

Crazy experience every time you visit Don Quijote. Full of stuff from fake eyelashes and bag of chips to champagne, Luis Vitton bags and real $25000 Rolex. This store has crazy fish in front of the building.

One of the first Mega Donki I visited in Tokyo, and it more than fulfilled my expectations. More out of curiosity than needing anything at that moment, I went in to check it out without the intention of buying. However, this is almost impossible, you'll end up picking up one or more items just because they do have an enormous variety of items. Literally, everything. Food items (deli, snacks, candy), beverages (alcohol and non-alcohol), clothing (all ages), toiletries and fragrances, small appliances and kitchen utensils. Even adult toys in a separate section. The list goes on and on... Quality is all over the place (shoes look and feel cheap), but mostly ok. That said, their prices are actually pretty fair, and mostly lower than in other retail outlets. Come and visit, experience this Donki yourself!

I came here with my friends and there will always be a seasoning sell where it's will change depending on the season For me it was Halloween but i didn't take too much picture The second floor is for woman make up and stuff with some alcohol for us men. There are more stuff in the third floor but I didn't go there in that time being. There is also a tax free payment place for the traveler, and it is also the best place to get yourself a present and your family 1 or 2 as well. It is somewhat a bit expensive but yeah you will be surprise with how many stuff your family would want. 9/10 would recommend to those traveling in Japan.

Be careful for wrong charges and missing items. Store was great, and shopping was funny. But when I get home, one of my item was missing. Of course, I didn’t check if they packed everything since I spent 35k yen and a lot of products were purchased. Sadly, I came home and unpacked, found out that my item was missing and yes, I was charged for it.

Amazing variety of items instore, anything you can think of from supermarket groceries to household goods to branded goods such as LV wallets and bags and Rimowa luggage. Spent more than an hour here, you'll definitely won't be bored in Don Quijote Asakusa!

Fun, addictive and super interesting variety of items offered for sale in this store. The tax-free area was a great find and addition, where staff check your passport before automatically applying the discount on the spot and bagging your items. Really useful and good service.

Don Quijote is an amazing place to get anything you can need. They have clothes, food, toys, luxury goods, electronics, medicine, beauty products, toiletries, and anything you may need while on your travels. It's a great place for souvenirs!!!

This is a huge store with a lot of offerings. As someone who lives nearby, it’s very convenient for getting toiletries and different odds and ends like Polaroid film. It’s a great place for foreign tourists because it’s got a large toy selection (a whole aisle of Sanrio goods!) and a good deal of souvenirs as well. They’ve got a large selection of alcohol and skincare. They have some cold groceries as well, but nothing fresh like vegetables or meat. It’s a great place to get snacks as well.

Pretty good variety of general items from food, toiletries, electronics, travel gear, toys, kitchen ware and clothes. You need to spend more than 5000 yen for tax free purchases.

  • 5/5 Edel S. 4 years ago on Google
This is your one stop shop if you plan to shop for discount items. Many great finds from skincare, make-ups, homewares, appliances and gadgets, bags, shoes, grocery items, pharmacy, you name it, they have it. And not only that, tourists can buy items for tax free as long as you spend ¥5400 and up and show your passport. If you are planning to bring home some Japan goodies for family and friends, then you but it here. The store is also open 24hrs 😉

Good store with a variety of goods from skin care to food to games to clothes to daily home needs. It is big and you can find the products with discounts. There is also tax free so you can enjoy shopping without taxes.

This place is huge but tight. 6 floors I think in different departments. 24/7. Good place to by your breakfast for the next day because there isn’t any early open breakfast spots in the morning.
