Best places: Public swimming pools in Newcastle-Maitland, Australia

🫤 I checked this gym out on a 7 day trial as I’m new to the region, live nearby, and work on campus. It’s a big site with a basketball court, some ovals, and a pretty nice 50m pool. There is also a tiny, underequipped, filthy gym. I don’t even know where to start… there are fifteen pin-loaded machin...

👍 The shower area in the ladies could do with a redo, the pool would be so much better if it was open all year round and heated in winter accordingly. The pool is beautiful and the staff lovely.

😐 Very nice local swimming pool. Excellent facilities. A publicly owned asset being run for profit by a private company. Water quality varies greatly, very dirty at peak times. The young lifeguards don't pay much attention to what is happening in the pool. Keep your eyes on your kids.
