👍👍 Came here as part of a private tour to learn about WWI, and to stand in the site where John McCrae wrote "In Flanders Fields" is awe inspiring. 👍👍 A must to visit. The video in the visitor center needs to be watched. Locals have adopted the graves of these soldiers, learn about their lives, bring flowers, and honor them throughout the year. The men are not alone or forgotten.

👍👍 Something about this cemetery moved me greatly, maybe more than Tyne Cot. It is very somber and so quiet except for the odd bit of bird song. If you visit here then go and spend some time on the bench under a small tree on the right hand edge about halfway down. I found it very emotional and moving....

👍👍 It was here that John McCrae, a surgeon, wrote the famous poem 'In Flanders Fields', in which he writes about his observance of poppies blooming in the war shocked land! Its because of this poem that till date poppies are a symbol of war remembrance.
