Best places: Things to dos in Varaždin, Croatia

Feudal fortress built between the 14th & 19th centuries, now housing a local-history museum.

👍 Free to visit but check the opening times first. It's a lovely Baroque Cathedral built around 1646 by the Jesuit order. The sacristy was completed a bit later in 1726. In my view the Franciscan Church/Monastry is more beautiful and has finer stone carved altars.

👍 Kapucinska crkva Presvetog Trojstva. Građena u gotičkom i baroknom stilu. Spominje se 1639., sadašnja je iz 1705. godine.

👍 Another fine 17th Century church in Varazdin. It was quite dark inside when I visited in the afternoon, but fortunately I have a great camera which makes all photos look much brighter than the actual conditions. I think it has the best stained glass windows of any of the churches in this town.

👍👍 Varaždin Cemetery is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe, would recommend dying there.

👍👍 Predivan park i šetalište,puno uspomena....povijesni kip Vatroslava Jagiča ali pogledajte na kojoj strani kaputa ima gumb/dugme i zaključila dali se radi o muškom ili ženskom kaputu...

👍 Muzej koji zaslužuje puno više pozornosti samih gradskih vlasti , adekvatan izložbeni prostor i renovaciju. Sam muzej je interesantan ali toliko je eksponata i anđela u malo prostora da je nemoguče doživjeti potpun dojam... Kako se ono kaže "od šume se me vidi stablo" !!!

👍 It looks better from afar than up close. Pieces of plaster are torn off in places.

👍👍 This museum is really fun experience for kids, that are interested about bugs, butterflies, ants, bees and lot of other species of insect. It is presented in large scale models as well as real preparated exemplars. Interesting and educational at the same time. Takes around 1 hour to go through.

🫤 Much as I think the collection of items here (and particularly the antique furnishings) is very good; I can't give this more than two stars because there is almost no English information at all. If they want to appeal to an international audience, then they need to address this issue. I like to kno...

👍👍 Rijetki gradovi u svijetu (a ne samo u Hrvatskoj) imaju ovako lijep i funkcionalan park za pse. Odvojeni su prostori za velike i za male (srednje) pasmine. Smještaj parka za pse je u Graberju, blizu središta Varaždina. Posjećeno i dobro uređeno mjesto.
