Bray Head Cross

👍 The trail was steeper and tougher than we expected. There were many wet and slippery rocks and at times even running water since it rained the day before. You'll definitely need a good pair of shoes and to be careful as you traverse the hike. In the end the view was worth it.

Altar Wedge Tomb

👍👍 I was driving past the Altar Wedge Tomb, and happened to notice the turn-off sign to the tomb. Without thinking, or planning, I pulled in, thinking it would be a waste of time in the cold, foggy, drizzly weather. And boy, I'm really glad I did. After parking in the free parking lot, my son and I got...

👍👍 Went down to Dublin with my Mammy has have a photo of my Daddy who wasn't that long passed away and the photo of him was taken at the monument in the 60s (I think) and wanted to retrace his steps. National Famine Memorial
Monument
😐 Monument didn't really tell you too much apart from it's in aid of the famine. You only need 5 minutes but don't park in the car park over the road as waste of money for 5 minute view. Park down by the abbey which is down the side road, free parking and actually more interesting to see the abbey.

Statue of Oscar Wilde and Eduard Vilde

👍👍 I think everyone love this statue and has their photo taken here. It is a true part of Galway The statue of the two writers, by Tiiu Kirsipuu, was constructed in 1999. The imaginary conversation between the Irish writer Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) and Estonian writer Eduard Vilde (1865-1933), depicted i...

The Croppies Acre image

The Croppies Acre
Monument
😐 When my friend, who is a professional nanny, told me she took the kid to Croppies Acre I was horrified! To me, Croppies Acre is the park to be avoided, the park where you watch out for syringes. Anyway, I decided to check it out for myself, and found that it's changed a lot in the last few years. It...

Connolly's Folly
Monument
😐 This is a very impressive structure that I definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area. Unfortunately there's only a small area directly in front of the landmark to park, directly in front of the "no parking" sign. The landmark is also surrounded by a rather ugly metal fence. I'm taking star...
