Lake Pukaki Viewpoint
Scenic spot
ππ Aoraki/Mount Cook in Maori, it means "Sky" or "Cloud Piercer."
Climbing Aoraki/Mt Cook isΒ more technically difficult than EverestΒ according to a Nepalese sherpa who has conquered both mountains and nearly lost his life on New Zealand's highest peak.
Sherpas are some of the most gifted mountaineers...

Tasman Glacier Viewpoint
Scenic spot
ππ Amazing view of the turquoise water and the mountains. Don't be fooled by the distance to walk to the viewpoint quite a lot of stairs to get there about 20 minutes to get up there but definitely worth it for the view of the lake and the valley behind.

Lakestone Lodge

ππ My wife and I just spent four days at the lodge and it was absolutely amazing, Mike and Anna are genuinely the nicest hostess, along with a quality team of workers including their chef Stefan.
The views from the room are the best views Iβve seen in New Zealand!

Farm Barn Cafe
Store
π Bit of an odd spot, entering the beautiful building I was pretty excited to have my first cup of coffee for the day. The young man in front of me wanted a medium coffee to take away and thatβs when I found out they charge 50c for a takeaway cupβ¦ knowing the industry quite well cups cost at most 15c...

ππ Such an awesome pub with loads of character, great staff and a really nice atmosphere. We rocked up here with a motorhome and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. π Loads of vintage stuff, nice to see. Small place, with the back kept for their furniture making workplace. Didnβt try their coffee or tea so not sure how that tastes like. Stopped by for 5 mins had a look around then left

Albury Tavern & Inn

ππ Wow. Just wow! Who'd have thought a place in the middle of nowhere actually serves rather decent American-Chinese food?
First off, let me write you through my encounter. 3 of us stepped into this place filled with people to the brim. We couldn't even get to the bar counter for the menu without effo...

Tasman Delta Cafe
Restaurant
π It was touching to be sold the most expensive take away coffee in my 50 years on earth under the premise of caring for the environment. Take away cups are deplorable but what is worse is the cafe is owned and operated by the lunatics who are flying helicopters onto the rapidly receeding Mt Cook gla...
