👍👍 Wonderful place! The lady in the information room was very attentive and helpful. Very welcoming, the city offers roasted and hot Portuguese chestnuts in front of the castle. Very attentive, the man who roasted the chestnuts.

Imposing fortified tower, home to a museum with antique weapons & Portuguese military artifacts.

Medieval residence with period interiors plus a museum including noteworthy tapestries & porcelain.

Modern facilities in an 18th-century villa offering diverse cultural events & landscaped gardens.

👍👍 Really good views (assuming it isn't raining). Easy walk from town with steps and handrails. Possessed of big lizards, almost Dragon sized, (very small dragons early season 1 GOT sized).

Hilltop Romanesque castle, founded in the 1000s & thought to be the birthplace of Afonso Henriques.

👍 Interesting place which houses a military museum which is only 1€ to see. Beware though, it's on four level's with steep steps.

👍 Paço de Giela was a very important place during the creation of the Kingdom of Portugal.Today, the castle stands on top of a hill, with a breathtaking view over the area. Inside the tower, you can find some exhibitions to understand its history and the importance of this place.

😠 The castle is cool and has a nice view, but there is a home at the entrance with a dog chained by it’s neck outside the entire day. It has its voice box removed and if you get close it is constantly crying. It’s really sad that no one has done anything about this given it is illegal in portugal and...
