👍 Easy to miss if your not looking for it as it's just off the main street. Carpark available. The bridge and river are beautiful, picnic benches near by,unfortunately the weather was not on my side so didn't venture far. Definitely worth a quick rest stop to have a look at the area and views

Shame to hear that where the castle once stood is now a sewerage works. The castle was demolished in 1934. What a sight it would have been. So many of the great houses...

A walk along the Sankey Viaduct is well worth the trip to see the arches. I’ve heard that they are bing done up...
