Danebury Iron Age Hillfort
Historical landmark
👍👍 such a beautiful place, the scenery is England at its must beautiful and when we went there were so many wild flowers and the sound of the insects was glorious! quite a steep walk up, but then it is a hill fort! worth using the upper car park if, like me, you find walking more difficult.

So round up the dogs despite a wet day and arrived at Bartlow Church. Short walk later we came ac...

Holnicote Estate image

Holnicote Estate
Hiking area
🫤 I must admit I was disappointed in this. The areas included in the Holnicote estate are beautiful for hiking but the house and park itself, although lovely, does not offer much and we turned back to some of the hiking tracks and towns around after a short visit.

👍👍 One of the lowest of the Dark Peaks gritstone edges. Easily accessible from the Robin Hood car park - includes standing stones, iron settlements, high cliffs and views south to Baslow and the White Peak as well as the Chatsworth Moorlands and the high edges beyond Curbar. Its one of view places in...
