👍👍 It had been raining the day before. I wanted to take the dog somewhere that wasn’t muddy. This is a great place as the walk takes you around the pit on a gravel path. There's plenty of grass, bushes, and wonderful views at the top.

Poolsbrook Country Park
Country park
👍👍 A delightful place to walk with family and dogs. A great cafe is open until about 2.30pm (in November) and there is a play area for children. Lots of geese and ducks hope to be fed. The circular walk around the lake will be achievable for most and wheelchair users will be able to get around it too.

Three Lakes Shirebrook.
Country park
👍 Beautiful place to go fishing or a walk to spend time with family. Mobility and pushchair friendly, car park availability and clear paths and signs. Could be some improvements such as benches, toilets and more rubbish bins though so be prepared to have a bag fir your rubbish.

Welbeck estate
Historical landmark
😠 Whitwell Wood is managed by Forestry England on a lease from Welbeck Estate. Welbeck Estate have some retained rights and one of which is for shooting. They have given the club the permission to shoot in the wood. Every single year in February, wood pigeons are shot, in the woods. The irony.
