👍👍 Idyllic spot standing on old coal mining area. Great for a relaxing walk around or, if you're a bit more sporty, a super jogging area with a testing incline. Monument remembering those miners that lost their lives down the pit in the parkland. Also former site of Kiveton pit head baths.

👍👍 Enjoyable time walking around this lovely wooded area. I parked at Peter Fiddler Nature Reserve Car Park. You can walk around this reserve, then on to Carr Vale Nature Reserve and then on to Carr Vale Pond. Lots of other paths to follow. Recommended.

👍👍 Great tree but a shadow of its former self. Estimated to be around 1200 years old. Thank you Sherwood Forest Trust for the very interesting information board. The tree appears healthier now than when the photos on the board were taken in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
