Thorncombe Beacon
Historical landmark
👍👍 We walked past here doing part of the south coastal path (west bay to golden cap) cloudy day but still lovely to see the views and have hike up. Not a bad hill to walk up, we didn't find it difficult at all. Can get blowy on the top and no shelter from the rain if it comes in.

St Catherine's Chapel
Chapel
👍 Very atmospheric and interesting place. The view opens in almost all directions. The church is not big, not working, but always open. Be prepared that the hill will be difficult to climb on foot. And also a very strong wind, sometimes it blows right off your feet. The place is worth visiting.

Abbotsbury Castle
Historical landmark
👍👍 Warning: no castle exists, just the site it once sat.
Quite remarkable how you can still see some of the outline, where the gates where, and the original path to it.
I just couldn't work out what the mound was from.
Has a trig point, explains why they chose this spot.

Kingston Russell Stone Circle
Historical landmark
👍 Lovely hill top location with splendid views. The postcode on the English Heritage website takes you to the wrong access point, where there is no signage to the circle. It is best to access the stone circle from the direction of Abbotsbury.
