Cribyn

👍 Decent hike with 3 main peaks with constant descent and ascent straight after. Not a very challenging hike overall, depending on where you start it fromand how long you would like to make it. Up at the top it was very foggy, and super super widy. Some drops are very sharp so stay away from the ridge...

Lake Vyrnwy
Historical landmark
👍👍 Stunning, even through the gloom of a rainy autumnal day. The dam in full flow was impressive and noisy! Hope to revisit and do the waterfall walk at the opposite end of the lake. Just the drive around was lovely with all the leaves changing colour. Well worth the visit.

Miller’s Dale Monsal Trail Peak District National Park
National reserve
👍👍 Good size car park, fairly reasonable. Cafe and toilets in original station building. Access straight onto the trail. Turn left and walk towards the old mills, now converted into living accommodation. Turn right and head towards monsal head, probably the more interesting direction.

Y Berwyn National Nature Reserve

👍👍 The waterfalls are a fantastic place to visit - well worth the trip, although do be wary of the 4 mile single track road leading up to it! Take care, there are plenty of passing places so it's not a major issue - parking can be tricky on busy days, the car park at the falls themselves costs £4 - the...

Sutton Park Streetly Gate
Tourist attraction
👍👍 If you want a peaceful walk, use this gate, no playgrounds but lovely walks, we walked up to bracebridge pool and then over the 40 bridges to the cafe, it can get muddy and boggy in places when it's been raining, but not too bad

Camel's Island/ Velvet Beds

👍👍 The South shields coastline is amazing for a nice walk along. You can go from the little haven hotel all the way along to Marsden beach (Roughly 6 miles there and back). Make sure to stop at camels island when the tide is out and look at the rock pools and some caves but be careful as the tide will...

Cam Long Down
National reserve
👍👍 Free but very small car park. The route to the top of Cam Peak is muddy and slippery (in December), but worth it for the views. I carried along the Cotswold way heading North. The paths are very undulating to say the least, but, the countryside is worth it.
