👍👍 An amazing place that I spotted on my journey that I was able to pull over and walk back to. I was privileged to meet a Biker couple who knew the sculpter who told me a bit about him and his work. Not saying anymore as you need to visit to feel it.

Garden of Remembrance
Memorial park
👍👍 I don't think "loved it" is correct response for a garden of remembrance i respected it and what it stood for. The Garden of remembrance was very respectfully done for the victims of Pan am flight 103 as well as the others burried/scattered there. It had a surreal feeling. Reading the names of the...

RAF Metheringham Memorial

👍👍 Nice memorial, worth a look if you are passing by . Peaceful quiet place. Shame people don't seem to respect it though , while we were there a group of bikes thought it appropriate to put their helmets , food and rubbish on the memorial and piss up the back of it 🙄

Town Hill County War Memorial
Memorial park
👍👍 A beautiful needle monument that stands over stunning views. A real tribute to the men that fell world war I. The walk is a steady incline that goes from track and I to a field where there are sometimes cows grazing and is steep in places and can be muddy after wet weather. It is well worth the effo...

👍👍 Brilliant sculpture of 'Tommy' Set on the seafront at seaham, plenty of benches around to sit on. Lovely sea views, some lovely cafes and chippies to choose from. Free parking. Seaham is an historic mining town and to be honest their seafront and beaches are lovely. Definitely worth a trip.

Aberfan Disaster Memorial image

Aberfan Disaster Memorial
Memorial park
👍👍 This is one of the most emotionally moving memorials in this world. Aberfan is a tiny village in the Merthyr Tydfil Valley of Wales. In 1966 we heard on the Radio that a disaster had occurred in Wales. It turned out that a Coal Slag Heap above the village, following torrential rain, had slid silentl...

Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial
Military cemetery
👍 This cemetery was very beautiful, I felt very emotional reading about how amazingly brave the soldiers were in the war. I felt it was insensitive to take pictures of the crosses themselves so i only took pictures of a few of the lovely decorations. The place is very well looked after as it should be...

👍👍 We loved this place, if you're into aviation and anything WW2 then this is the place for you. Reasonably priced entry, great gift shop and lovely food. The Lancaster Bomber is very impressive, especially when they taxi is out of the hangar and start up those 4 Merlin Rolls Royce engines.

👍👍 A beautiful, enigmatic, and important memorial to those who were killed and injured in the terrorist bombing in the nearby Manchester Arena in 2017. It's designed as an open city space, with a ring of marble memorial stones and paths and planting amongst them. A place to come and remember, a plac...

Memoria Amber Valley Memorial Park and Crematorium
Cremation service
👍👍 Well organised service, staff to guide you in and check numbers, seat you distanced, then move away. It's not a place I would want to visit but as the need presented itself, in these strange times, I felt safe and comfortable. I hope you don't have to go but it's the place if you do.

👍👍 What a lovely walk, everyone is so nice and friendly. So much to see, fresh air to smell especially if you come from smoggy city town centre like London/Birmingham/Manchester. We walked for few hours and enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely will be back to finish off the hike.
