👍👍 There is a car park found off of the main road. It's a national trust car park. If you're not a member you will have to pay either by phone or use the app. It cost me £4.50 for 2 hours. All around below there are smaller roads and people park along here, and this is the reason why. However, the car...

Derwent Dam Viewpoint

👍👍 There has been a lot of effort put into pathways around the dams to ensure a lovely long and comfortable walk, and it's great for cyclists too. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed at all times due to the livestock and wildlife. Beautiful scenery and many historical info boards and features dott...

👍👍 Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil and visually expensive. Easy accessible walk. I've seen old people, young people, hikers, walkers, runners, and everyone in-between up here. Plenty of seating but as it's a 360° view then it can get windy so bring a light jacket.

👍👍 We had our to young daughters with us 7 and 10 years and they managed the hike to the top fine. We also had our dog Sam. Great views from the top and there is a nice little coffee place if you are on the clay bank side that is very reasonable. 50p for a bottle of water.

👍👍 England's highest waterfall. Lovely 2.5 mile walk from Cross Keys Temperance Inn. Can park in layby, then down a small set of steps near a fishing sign. Cross river on foot bridge and then follow the grassy path to the waterfall. Wouldn't advise climbing to high on the path in bad weather, can get s...

👍👍 You park up at the car park for Helsby quarry. Short walk up a steep hill gets you into wilderness to explore. 👍👍 2/1/23 Great place for relaxing and walking around to absorb the fresh air and calm scenery. Even though today is freezing but I saw a lot of people walking, running and parking and picnicking in their cars. It is a friendly area for dog walks too. 👍👍 Great little find, perfect pit stop on our bike ride and very dog friendly too (there were plenty of owners meeting to have some free training). 👍👍 My life coach, Waxy Al, often takes me here to reflect on things. Mostly I rant about this ginger guy from my work who literally chats about the gym like he's shredded (he's not)... It's a great place to express your feelings, the acoustics are incredible!

👍 There’s free parking for probably about 10 cars in a car park just off the reservoir. The walk takes about 20 minutes for one round, I usually walk two. You can get a pram / pushchair around here, I use an all terrain one, but any with good sized wheels would be fine.
