Wetherby Bridge
Bridge
👍👍 Interesting old Grade 2 listed bridge spanning the River Wharfe. Dates from the 13th century. The original bridge was only 3.5 metres wide and was humpbacked. The bridge was rebuilt in the 17th century and widened twice in 1773 after flood damage and in 1826. The three original bridges are clearly e...

👍 The Miller Bridge, formerly named Mill bridge, was erected in 1818 to the design of John Rennie. It was a replacement of earlier bridges, one of which was destroyed by a flood.

👍👍 Love this walk. Stumbled on this back 2019 and use it as a stop off point on our return from North Wales to the Midlands. You get to be in 2 countries at the same time, with a foot either side of the boarder. The views are great from this height and a beautiful walk past some houses😁

The Sankey Viaduct (Nine Arches)
Bridge
👍👍 The other posts say it all. This is a part of world railway history. The arches are nearly two hundred years old and a marvel of the engineering back then. Still taking modern trains. A walk along the Sankey Viaduct is well worth the trip to see the arches. I’ve heard that they are bing done up...

Aldford Iron Bridge
Bridge
👍 A grand bridge straddling the River Dee, built by William Hazledine and designed by Thomas Telford. A lovely spot along the Dee. We canoed here from Eccleston Ferry Parking ~ 2 miles back towards Chester. Beautiful stretch of the Dee with very little flow to paddle against surprisingly. Plenty of wi...

👍👍 written in 1805 about the docks here Chains will be found to extend along the dock quays; which became necessary to prevent strangers and others from falling into the dock in the night, from missing their way, through intoxication, etc. To read more historical facts about this area and of Liverpoo...
