👍👍 Such a lovely little harbour village! I visited after opening hours for any cafes. I just wanted to see the Thor house. But I stayed and watched the ocean for a while as it was a sunny day. I’d come again as they offer a lot of activities at the harbour.

👍👍 This beautiful display of water at work is truly a gem of Manchester and the pride of Levenshulme. The Fallowfield brook is a lovely brook to take a stroll along and the waterfall is always a highlight of such a trip. Unfortunately the waterfall does suffer in the terrible droughts often struck on t...

Monton Lighthouse
Tourist attraction
👍👍 Very unusual but an excellent, quirky local landmark! Can't go inside as it is private property, but the Bridgewater Canal is lovely along this stretch towards Worsley and you can get some great views of lighthouse from the towpath. You can see the top of it from the road if you're driving past.

Apethorpe Palace image

Apethorpe Palace
Manor house
👍👍 This is now a privately owned property and the owner very kindly allow limited numbers of visitors to tour ( accompanied by a guide ) at a cost - which we didn't find too excessive. The palace is undergoing restoration - and the upper floor looks like it's just been painted in Farrow and Ball histor...
