Trinity River Greenbelt Goat Island Preserve - Dallas County Nature Preserve
Nature preserve
😐 Tons of trash, graveyard for tons of tires, BUT some majestic areas of trees. Hiked over 3 miles and still so much more to explore. Presence of trash is typical for a Dallas hike, but area overall is worth the drive and time.

John F. Burke Nature Preserve
Nature preserve
👍👍 I've probably driven over this area numerous times, as it's just beneath a highway, crossing over the 'Elm Fork' branch of the Trinity river system, where you can spot alligator gar (a fish that can resemble alligator and grow to be as big.) This is a very similar--small--trail to the Elm Fork Natur...

McCommas Bluff - Dallas County Nature Preserve image

McCommas Bluff - Dallas County Nature Preserve
Nature preserve
😐 In a neglected part of far southeast Dallas, this nature park is a pretty slice of prairie and water features. Rustic truck path leads to a pleasant stretch of Elam creek that features shoal with fossil shells imprinted on it. There is no parking on Fairview street, you just have to leave your car...

Coombs Creek Trail image
15
Coombs Creek Trail
Nature preserve
👍👍 This isn't really a "trail". It's a walking path in an incredibly wealthy neighborhood, but we enjoyed the fairy houses.
4.70 (56 reviews) (~13.69 km from centre)
Cedar Mountain - Dallas County Nature Preserve image
16
Cedar Mountain - Dallas County Nature Preserve
Nature preserve
😠 This trail sounds similar to the bigger, better trails off Mountain View, however this one is located off of Belt Line road. Once you actually find the main trail which might require several visits you will discover the staff forgets they are run by the city and acts as if their dirt and trees are...

Lester Lorch Park - Dallas County Nature Preserve image
17
Lester Lorch Park - Dallas County Nature Preserve
Nature preserve
👍👍 Most of the people that come here are respectful BUT there are those that leave trash or blow air horns disturbing the wildlife. A preserve is a sanctuary and refuge for wildlife. Please respect that while spending time on the preserve!
