👍👍 Wow. This is the #1 "must see" at Sleeping Bear. It's about a five minute sandy walk to the wooden overlook--which definitely offers the best views of the dune. In fact, the dune is so steep that you cannot see the bottom in most places. Adventurous (or crazy?!?) people were running down the dunes...

👍👍 An absolute incredible trail that is easy enough for everyone to enjoy. Maybe 1 1/2 miles total. Great for all the family. There is two overlooks along the way and the trail ends up where you can continue on along the sands dunes if you wish. Great views of Lake Michigan and the main part of th...

👍👍 I highly recommend this drive. It offers several picturesque stops with great views and trails to explore. Though it was a bit crowded, we managed to find parking at each viewing area. Some spots required a climb up sand hills, but it was not too challenging. Amazing lake color. It was fun watching...

👍 It was a beautiful stop just wish the place would stay open a little later. Would be great of they allowed you to come in just until after sunset but still a great spot to stop and snag a few pictures while taking in some of the nice views from the beach. There was a few people I think that run the...

👍👍 For the first time ever, I was able to hike a trail at Sleeping Bear Dunes in perfect solitude. In mild rain, nobody else was at Alligator Hill. There was a ghostly view of a freighter in Lake Michigan at the Islands Overlook. Trails are wide since they are also used as equestrian trails. It's impos...

Swimming lake
👍👍 This is one of the most unique swimming lakes I've ever been to. It borders Lake Michigan with just the slimmest of sand bars separating the two. The North Bar Lake is 10 degrees warmer than Lake Michigan, and it's as calm as the moon. Lots of visitors had tubes or paddle boards, and it looked perfe...

👍👍 A wonderful and lesser-known place to visit in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The trailhead is not prominently signed and has space for only a few cars to park on the side of the road. An easy, short trail up the driveway of the old farm, by the buildings (which are being preserved by a fou...

👍👍 A beautiful scenic drive thru the forest to an overlook with great views and (leashed) dog friendly dune area. Take a path to a pier-like overlook or traipse down the dune to the beach. Fair warning-make sure you can get back up the very steep dune or you may have to pay a $3k fine if additional sup...

👍👍 It's a great trail with amazing views but it's a workout. 4 miles in and back of climbing over dunes so I would recommend two bottles of water per person. Past midday the sand gets quite hot if it's full sun so you may burn your feet if you don't wear shoes. I wore flipflops and just slid them on fo...

🫤 The water was deliciously warm and we loved playing in the shallows. Unfortunately we all contracted swimmers' itch. A warning sign would have been helpful. We still would have gone swimming but we could have taken measures to prevent the swimmers' itch.

👍 Really nice view sure it would be even more beautiful during the sunrise... the only down fall is it is not that big of a space. We were lucky enough to have it to our self on a Friday but I'm sure this place can get pretty packed at times.
