“Luis’s Ledge”
Tourist attraction
👍👍 Among all of the Luis’ Ledges that I have been to, this has to be in the top five. I was startled to find a platypus here - though I suspect it’s further evidence of global warming and climate change affecting our ecosystem. Pirates Cove Beach
Public beach
👍👍 Really nice beach my favorite part is to sit in the warm water stream at the end of the beach. I like to lay upstream with my mouth open sometimes I catch fish in it while the crabs pick at my toenails

African Burying Ground Memorial
Historical landmark
👍👍 A beautiful and moving memorial by the people of Portsmouth, for those forgotten and debased on these shores. It is not imposing; it is simply honest and respectful. This memorial should be an example to other places in America that historically contributed to the horror of slavery.

Goodwin Park
Park
😐 This was a peaceful little place in historical Portsmouth. I only give three stars because the upkeep of the landscaping is awful. Some of the bushes are dead. It needs to be redone. It was a nice place to sit for a spell.

Eliot Boat Basin
Boat ramp
👍👍 I grew up down the street and have been going here for 40 years. Locals call it "dead duck". Big fields, pavilion you can rent for parties and cookouts, boat launch, walking trails and a cute little beach ( be careful the current is strong)
