Best places: Nature preserves in Lakeland, United States

👍👍 A real gem of a place on the Minnesota side of the river. Beautifully maintained, great walking trails, nice visitor center. Also a nice market with apples, honey, maple syrup and other products.

Large preserve with hiking & cross-country skiing trails, plus a play area & orienteering course.

Woodlands featuring 6.7 acres of paved trails, plus picnic areas & access to fishing on the river.

👍👍 A wonderful gem in the middle of the cities! We actually started at Central Park and walked the paths connecting each of the parks including the Arboretum. 5 miles including the boardwalk. Really great location and amenities.

Riverfront park on former industrial land with cliffs & wetlands teeming with birdlife & an apiary.

👍 I would suggest taking the path least traveled. It’s a very pretty view of the inside of the hills but be warned it IS dangerous. Don’t go on it unless your prepared.

👍👍 This place was totally beautiful and amazing! We will definitely be visiting there again. A family could spend all day there. My wife, kids and I all had a blast exploring all over the place. And I highly recommend water shoes.

👍 A nice, small park and trail system. There is a parking lot, restroom and covered picnic tables. We usually go through here at the beginning and end of our walk or ride around Birch Lake.

👍👍 Great grassy prairie flatland kinda style loop. No challenging inclines of any kind. It can be a quick stroll or as long of a walk as you want it to be trails ranging from 1-4 miles.

👍👍 Well maintained paths through natural beauty! Walking quietly, see if you can see deer and owls! Just a block from where North Saint Paul borders Maplewood and Oakdale, where those communities also have some of their nature preserves almost bordering Southwood Nature Preserve!

👍 Was a decent state park. You do need a state sticker to enter. Hiking trails. Picnic tables and restrooms where we went. Can see the water below which was pretty awesome. Not many people at all when we went here on a Wednesday. Was not my favorite state park but nonetheless nice.
