Rock Island Trailhead Hartman Park
Park
ππ I got here early on July 4th. It was a beautiful walk! So much to take in and enjoy. There were deer along the way. Lots of friendly folks, though by 9am it was getting a little people-y and traffic picked up. A beautiful and amazing trail for anyone up for adventure!

ππ This park/splash pad is fun for kids of all ages. There is playground equipment for various age groups, swings, public restroom, walking trail and the splash pad is large enough that you don't feel too crowded. There's also plenty of covered seating and tables that provide shade.

ππ ~8 inches is snow were recently dumped here and created a wonderful opportunity for sledding. The slopes that lead to the baseball field below were a great way to spend a snow day from school!
We used a $5 rolled plastic sled from Target that we bought several years ago, and it worked very well. Yo...

ππ My wife and I took our 3 yr old son to this park and he loved it. We were able to eat some food while my son played since there weren't a lot of people there. All the playground items were really close to the shelter so we were able to keep a close watch on him while he was playing. He ended up play...

Joseph A Dyke All Inclusive Playground
Park
π My kids love this park - they call it the rocket ship park because of the weird sound the spinning ball makes when you go "fast". The park is located by the ball fields at Legacy Park. As the name suggests, it's an all-inclusive park, meaning every part of the park has a ramp or bridge available a...

Legacy Park Baseball Fields
Baseball field
ππ Best sports field complex for youth and adults I've ever seen. Baseball, softball and soccer/football fields, almost too many to count.
Professionally housed permanent snack stands.
Modern restrooms (air conditioned,) cleaned at least twice daily (that I observed - probably more).
Permanent asphalt...

Lee's Summit Skate Park
Skateboard park
π We were super excited to have ice skating here locally. The cost is $7 for Lee's Summit residents and $3 for skate rental, which is comparable to other ice skating rinks. But the ice rink is small and quickly gets crowded. The ice is not smooth and has several divots in it. We were there right after...
