👍👍 Absolutely Gorgeous!! Check the times for low tide before going to the cave for safety. Be extra careful when going down to the cliffs. Walking to get to the caves can be slippery, expect to get wet. It’s was a great day exploring the caves!!!

Cowles Mountain

👍👍 Fun hike with a decent amount of elevation. Super crowded on weekends as you’d expect so getting there early is key - once the sun comes out, it can get pretty toasty on the trail too.

Mother Miguel Mountain Trailhead
Hiking area
👍👍 Peaceful hike along the side of the mountain which had lots of switch backs but you could easily walk straight up not realizing your not on the path but on a wash out. Your supposed to stay on the trail and not cut through but at times I found myself cutting through by accident. No shade except a li...

Mission Trails-Kwaay Paay Peak

👍👍 If you like hikes with a goal, this is a good option. Unlike Cowles mountain this trail is greener and offer occasional shade. There are some steps to climb, but other than that it's your regular unpaved hiking path. On the way back you may want to slow down a bit if you want to take easy on your k...

👍👍 During rainy season this hike is a lo5 of fun. If it has recently rained be prepared to cross minor water. Waterfall is not very big but the hike along the river is beautiful. There is a parking lot but it only fits a handful of cars.

Lower Otay Reservoir Bike Trail Trailhead
Hiking area
👍 We went when it was a little wet so there were no bikes, but if you start to think you might be going the wrong way., you might be! Not all roads lead to Rome and I found myself pretty lost going down the wrong trail. Follow signs and pay attention friends.

Otay Mountain Summit image

Otay Mountain Summit
Hiking area
👍 This is an incredible road for biking! The route starting from the east (I park near the end of Calzada de la Fuente off of Alta Rd) is an ideal grade for riding. Downsides include sketchy access (no trespassing sign), off road trucks and dirt bikes, border control agents in giant black SUVs, and ai...
