Bayocean Peninsula Park

👍👍 Amazing park, said it once and I’ll forever say it. Trails for miles, secluded beach, parking, history. Absolutely beautiful place to spend the afternoon. Make sure to walk the trails to visit the old town of Bay Ocean, there are canisters with photos inside of what used to be. Folks are very respec...

Sand Lake Recreation Area

👍👍 Absolutely gorgeous sand dunes and trails! One of our very favorite memories exploring the Oregon coast was renting ATVs from Tsunami ATV rentals just up the road and riding them here near sunset. Going around the trees was a blast. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and even stop to take in...

Munson Creek Falls State Park

👍👍 Nice, short hike along the creek with a bit incline near the end of the trail. The waterfall has an impressive height, but the trail is blocked/stopped before you reach the foot of the fall. Parking is small and people do not seem to take long here--maybe 30 min. Makes for a great extra stop if in t...

😐 Would NOT recommend for tent campers. Lots of hidden fees when you show up to check in, even after paying upfront when booking. Our cost online was $89, showed up to check in and they charged us $38 more. When I asked where they post online about extra fees upon arrival, the teenagers running the ch...

Short Sand Beach, Oswald West State Park

👍👍 Beautiful state park! Worth a stop if you are driving along the coast. The hiking trails are well maintained and easy to walk on. Dog friendly, and you are rewarded a gorgeous ocean view at the end of the short sand beach trail. Try to catch this place when the sun is out.

Neahkahnie Mountain Trail Viewpoint

👍👍 Too gorgeous. Too stunning. Was my favorite sight of the entire trip, and that is saying a lot because each and every view we got in Oregon was amazing. The hike up gives you a taste of an Oregon forest where Bigfoot feels likely to pop out.

Tillamook County Parks

👍 This place is absolutely fantastic for tent camping. We have a motorhome, for RVs it is not my favorite campground, it's pretty tight. But, you can easily walk to the beach and that is very cool.

😐 Even though this isn't a campground, I was forced to stay here overnight after I broke a rear spoke and needed to do repairs that took a few hours. I'm sure that law enforcement would not have harassed me because it was the safer choice compared to riding through the Wilson River Corridor at night....
