What happened? This store used to be great! I walked there while my daughter was at basketball practice. They've closed off all street entrances, so definitely don't want you walking there. Grocery carts are strewn everywhere due to this policy. Food selection isn't what it used to be. I think they are going for Costco low variety, but lots of single products. There were no baskets for limited purchasing and I couldn't find a small cart, so I ended up pushing around a broken large cart. I should have just stuffed everything in my backpack as I walked around. And the place is a mess inside too, but alas no photos there. GO TO FARM BOY if at all possible. It is only a block away and they act like they actually want your business.

Westboro has experienced a lot of gentrification over the years in good and bad ways. The MEC started this process but it was the Superstore that cemented this fate for the neighborhood. Gone are the days of this neighborhood having a culture and a soul, replaced by boring suburban yuppies devoid of personality. Thrift stores and bars swapped with un-interesting clothing boutiques and medicore over priced donning food. And the you can feel the void of what the neighborhood used to by from the Superstore its self. Like a black hole only taking and never giving back to the community. ..... Also the food is overpriced and low quality with a bad selection. Go to the farm boy or the college square superstore instead.

Almost endless list of issues with this store. Used COVID measures as an excuse to close all but one entrances/exit. As a result, all customers are forced to crowd together to use a single narrow entrance to handy thousands of customers daily. This action confirms COVID related measures were not the real motivation. Subsequently these entrances/windows were covered up with cheap advertising or film that contributes to an unpleasant experience and a blight to the community.

Yesterday I went to this store to buy groceries. I have a handicapped permit because I have lung issues. I don’t always use it but the air quality was poor. The cart guy had left carts blocking 2 of the handicap parking spots. Well I guess I will have to tough it out. I park and go inside where they are bringing in the carts, nobody is cleaning them, even though there is a guy standing counting people. I grab a cart and wipes to wipe it down and inside the cart are dirty plastic gloves. I’m pretty disappointed with this store.

The non-exchange and non-returnable policies of Joe Fresh over their undergarments are unfair to the customers. Sadly, customers won't know until they have already bought their unfitted clothes and wasted their money. (The return policy was unobviousely displayed at the cashier side of the Joe Fresh counter, which most customers are unaware of). Their "unhygienic" excuse does not stand logically, as from hats to shirts, pants, and underwear, no garment can be guaranteed germ-free, when they all have been gone through countless hands from factories, to distributors, to retailors. If the person cares about hygiene, they will wash the new clothes first before wearing them, which I always do. Companies like Walmart, the Bay Company, La Senza, etc. accept returns or exchanges on undergarments because it makes sense: no one knows if the clothes fit without trying. Being store (assistant) managers, Jamie and Mat, claimed that it is store policy and they can not make an exchange. To me, though there is an unsensible policy, there are also obnoxious attitudes of the managers.

Today we went to The Real Canadian Superstore on Richmond Road. The man working the checkout was named Elton, and he was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. However, we hoped to price match diapers, and he wasn’t sure if the advertised diapers matched what we were purchasing. He offered to call a manager to verify. Manager Scott Holtz came over, and despite the diapers not matching exactly, he allowed the price match. We are so grateful for his kindness! The diapers were not for us, but a young woman standing outside in the freezing, snowy conditions, who needed some items for her baby, but couldn’t afford them. She was also very grateful!! Thank you, Elton and Scott, for allowing us to help this young Mom!

Have been doing 85% of my shopping here. I tried pickup this Friday for the first time after hearing many success stories. Sadly it didn't work out. Raspberries were molded, squished, and looked like they were missing a couple. Kefir was sent already expired. I need to do another grocery run because this is supposed to be my breakfast. I like the convenience of the pickup, so might be inclined to shop elsewhere. E: store refunded us for expired products

Weekday shopping here is wonderful. Weekend shopping is very busy and they have lots of cashes open to keep the traffic going. There is a lot of selection. Don't be surprised if you spend at least a half hour here as the shop is huge. The environment is clean and well organized. The last experience with a cashier was very pleasant. Good job.

Our impression when we walked into this massive grocery store was of curiosity, as we explored the expanse that it covers and the offering and quality of products we began to take a liking to this quirky, bustling, all Canadian retailer. We felt the offering to be rich with good prices and good quality produce and products, standard good quality is the name of the game. You get a bakery, butcher's, fresh produce, pharmacy and your staples. You get as many standard products as good international brands from, India, Pakistan, Mexico, Italy, Taiwan, among others. This is not a luxury store, but you get pretty good, solid quality, every day products. Pay them a visit for every-day good quality, reasonably priced items that you'll usually need to run a household.

I used to really like this store. Now you’re lucky if there’s a cash or two open, the lineups are ridiculous, I’ve gone in and walked out multiple times because the wait times make it untenable, even on what are normally quieter hours during the week, I’m not shopping on Saturdays. There’s nothing that they sell that merits waiting in line when there’s two cashes open and a dozen people in the self checkout line, and that’s the norm now. When I can go to any other grocery store and get faster service. And it’s not as if their prices are competitive.

The store is well located on Richmond near downtown. Washrooms are clean. Great products selection. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh.

This store has misleading price-tags, and cashiers who know neither arithmetic nor politeness. Avoid if you can, and, if you absolutely must buy anything from there, make sure to check your receipts before leaving.

Not sure what happened as it used to be great with helpful and courteous staff in the garden centre. Our latest experience today was awful to say the least. We saw easter cream eggs on sale, so picked up several. As we left, we noticed the price rung up at 8.29 for 154g – instead of 1.25 each as advertised. There was a huge line-up which we didn’t want to hold up – so went to customer service instead. The initial cashier that dealt with us was very nice and paged for a price check 4 times but didn’t get a response. She then paged the manger twice. After we waited 30 minutes, the manager finally showed up. We showed him the photo – and asked that he honor the price that was advertised. He said that we made a mistake, and it was not the right product, even though the pallets of easter crème eggs were all around the sign. He said the sign of the actual price $8.29 must have fallen off. He said there wasn’t much room in the store for chocolate displays & signs. This clearly did not ring true (as there was a huge display and numerous pallets all of Cadbury crème eggs around the sale sign. When we asked for his full name, he refused to provide it. Even though his full name (Jamie?) was displayed on his name tag, he hid it with his fingers and refused to provide it. He was very unprofessional and while he did offer us two packages at the “advertised price”, we declined. What kind of manager of a store would refuse to provide his name? The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths and no desire to return to the Westboro store. We will be going to the nearby Farm Boy instead.

Really wide range of groceries so you can pretty well be sure you will find what you are looking for. Good range of ready to eat.. Small joe fresh too. No name goods are more costly than no frills. Why? Not a discount store although big. Some things are cheaper if you buy two or more but I would rather have lower unit prices.

I bought flash foods . The lady at the service desk actually took my name and found my food best service I've had in a store for a long time . Most of the time in kelowna, my food is gone, and I need to get credit .as we are to get our own food . They take our word for it ...lol what a joke . Will do way more online from this store. It's so worth the drive . Thank you for the service .....

Great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables! Can be really busy during peak hours but there are some quiet times during other parts of the day that make getting in and out really fast easy!

This has to be the most poorly designed grocery store I've ever been to. The main entrance at the rear corner of the building is always congested, so you have to be very patient trying to navigate in and out of the building. Not a great selection of products. The organics section is pretty good, and it does have a large Joe Fresh section. Difficult to find good deals in the meat department compared to grocery stores, but the meat/poultry is pretty decent quality. Rarely enjoy my grocery shopping experience here. Would much rather shop at Farm boy down the road.

The only reason I go to superstore is to get my favorite melona honeydew melon popsicles...and luckily they were in stock so I was happy!!

You can find better prices at other stores, but hard to find one with this much variety. This place has it all. With the bad weather and ice storms we get here in Ottawa its nice to do all the shopping you need at just one place. Also, considering the location, it's surprising i never have a problem getting a parking spot.

Bad management. They absolutely refuse to provide the small carts. They have only big carts and I can't get it into their thick heads that most customers are looking for small carts. UPDATE: NOW THEY HAVE REMOVED ALL SMALLER CARTS. THE MANAGEMENT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION FOR ELDERLY, SENIORS AND THOSE WITH HEART CONDITIONS WHO CANNOT MOVE THE LARGER CARTS. They are located well and hence have lots of customers because of good location hence they don't care about customer satisfaction. However, I am boycotting them because of unavailability of small size carts and I recommend this too so that they start caring.

  • 4/5 Shane 5 months ago on Google
One of the only supermarkets that do price matching. Use the flipp app to find the best deal, show it at the cash register, and they'll match that price! Took one star off because their parking lots are always full, and you have to circle the lot for 10-20 minutes until you find a spot.

Pros: generally good prices and availability of goods, as expected from a store this size. Shopping on weeknights is actually a pleasant experience. Cons: shopping here can be an exercise in frustration for some. Shopping baskets have not been offered for years, and they recently phased out the small shopping carts. Now we’re left either using a large lumbering cart that takes up half the aisle space, or we’re hand-holding our groceries. The store management should expect more and more people to start using their reusable shopping bags as basket replacements, and with that, possibly more shoplifting. Also, the store layout is backwards. From the main parking lot in the back, customers must wind their way through a narrow corridor through the takeout foods and the produce section. When finished with the checkouts (which are at the BACK of the store (??!!)) customers are forced to double back. The corridor is narrow and often congested, making weekend shopping a frustrating experience. This wasn’t too bad in the past when the Richmond street entrance was open, but it has been closed, which forces EVERYONE through the narrow corridor.

This was a very unpleasant shopping experience. The store is very poorly laid out so shoppers have to navigate back through the produce section to exit the store. The aisles are very narrow so it is challenging to pass by people going in opposite directions. Since there is no clear or easy flow people are going back and forth, crossing each other's paths. To compound matters there was a slight dinginess to the store, giving the feeling that it could really do with a good cleaning. Overall it got the job done, but I will avoid this store from now on.

This store is absolutely huge! It sells every food item you could ever dream of but they also sell clothing, towels, dishes and more household items. As with all Superstores they have a flash foods option that always saves you money on food by ordering off of the flash foods app. This also saves you time at the cash as you simply pay online and go to the customer service to get your items. I really do love this store. Manys the trips to town much esiercz$

Pretty large selection. Sometimes have good flashfood produce boxes that are a steal. They price match. Which can be confusing some times but when you figure it out it comes in clutch in these times. They get a 3 stsr because the company is losting a massive increase in profits while Canadians starve. Its pretty horrendous.

I rarely go to this neighbourhood store anymore as every I go there is some basic thing i cant find. One time a roasting chicken. Other times sauerkraut and baking bran ( like doesnt anyone make bran muffins or banana bran loaf?) i can understand weirder things like israeli couscous but they seem to sell a lot of pre-packaged foods for people who don't cook or dont have have tastebuds.

Their web site said they had a product I wanted in stock, so I went there despite the distance. After a fruitless search, finally found customer service tucked away in a back corner, who checked their computer and said they had never carried it. Half a day wasted.

The store was clean and had many good selections. Lighting in all area was bright. Parking lot was large and accessible. Upon this visit there were no shopping carts available. Carts were all in stalls at the far west end of parking lot which was not convenient at all.

This store has items for almost all of your needs. They have food. You can eat food, smell food, taste food, hear food, feel food and see food. That is all of the five senses! Amazing 😀🤩! No other store has food like this store 🏪. Did you know that Logan skips classes? It's true! And he's failing the class!

  • 3/5 Faiien W. 1 year ago on Google
A little on the small side, sells out of items quicker as a result. Their pharmacy is unreliable when it comes to pickup estimates, and we have had multiple issues with them. Generally clean and parking available.

  • 5/5 Mohammed Z. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place especially in good weather. It can get busy very quickly though. However they have great items and I use their mobile shop to buy my cellphones from. Good deals plus a lot of PC points. I got 300 dollars worth of points at my last upgrade.

Having an employee stand by the self checkouts and handing out bags instead of just having them there is the wackiest idea I've ever seen. I cannot fathom why they do this. Was it people not paying for bags? Because there is no way that employing someone to do it for an hourly wage is cheaper. If we pay 5¢ a bag they must get them for pennies, if that! So with some gracious estimates on their bag price at 1¢ and the minimum wage being $15, people would have to "steal" 1500 bags every hour. No way, and this is coming from a proud bag buying boy. If it's to help the environment then why not make the full switch to paper bags or have the employee standing there selling the reusable bags, people would learn quickly to bring their own bag. If you're still selling plastic bags and I ask for 25, your minimum wage employee is not going to say no. So it's not helping the green cause. Finally, it slows the process of using self checkout, which certain people can fly through faster than a cashier. But now you gotta flag down an employee, pay for your bags after scanning everything, then bag everything post scan. And that's if the employee is there at the moment and hasn't been called away for something else. In closing, it's a silly idea that doesn't help anyone but hampers plenty. No other Loblaws or superstore that I've been to is doing this.

I'm trying to see how I can attach the photo of the pint if blueberries i bought for 4.99!!!! About 40% of the pint is inedible. Also bought a pre-made Greek salad. Its safe to say they use the produce thats almost expired. Found at least 8 pieces of lettuce with black on it. BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION. WITH FOOD PRICES RISING SO HIGH THIS LEVEL OF STANDARD IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Superstore always has great produce! Photo attached of meal prepared from the groceries bought from their store. I prefer not to go inside due to the pandemic and online ordering/pickup is so easy and the employees were very nice/happy.

The overall experience is great. Shelves are always well stocked. Prices are always better and lots of offers for customers. Just a little suggestion, since many Asian people are already living within the area, you may want to add on some more options for them specially Indian, Filipino and Chinese food choices. This will greatly help you since there are no Asian store in West K. Thanks,

I went into the Westbank Superstore on Black Friday around 8:pm, hoping to do a little personal shopping when things had quieted down. I actually ended up seeing some good pricing on nice cheese and decided that maybe this was a good time to buy for our Christmas gift baskets. Gary, the deli manager on shift asked me if I needed help (I was loading up 36 blocks of cheese) and help he did! Between he and his sidekick, I went from a basket to a buggy with extra boxes to load 36 boxes of crackers 36 packages of pepperoni meat and my cheese! Then I went to the "sweets" isle where I met Raj (self admitted to having a sweet tooth) who helped me with the cookies I needed, yup 36 of each. From there, I literally Grinch sledded my way to the till where a lovely lady with a ton of patience checked my order. She then had a young man help me load my car. First, I sincerely apologize for not knowing the names of the helper in the deli, the woman at the check out and the young man who saved my back, lifting my heavy load. But... All 5 of you demonstrated outstanding customer service, which can be difficult at times, especially a "Black Friday" and I just want to say that you made my day. That was the best shopping experience in a grocery store that I have ever had. As well, it reminds me as to why I shop at Westbank Superstore! Thank you to the 5 of you😊
