Bar, popcorn, cheap drinks, 5 stars. Bartender amazing. The venue is dingy but not entirely grungy. I wouldn't bring my parents here but it was fine with friends. Lower your expectations and you'll have a good time.

I really enjoyed myself at Swizzles. I went with a couple of my friends for the Saturday night drag show and we had a blast! Seating is limited, so if you want a seat, either get there early or make reservations. We were lucky enough to get three adjacent chairs at the bar. For the most part, we could see the stage and the performers, but the standing room allowed others who arrived later to block our view. Oh well, I cheered even louder and eventually they moved. 🤣 Cheering is encouraged anyways. I can be my natural loud self there. I'm sure I'll be back. 🤗

This bar is small but very welcoming to everyone. Every night is a different fun event. Comedy mondays, Thursday Nights are a Drag, Basement Burlesque once a month, karaoke nights... The bar staff is so kind and remember my order. The pizzas are great and popcorn is available for munchies. Definitely recommend!

Queer friendly place to belt out some tunes! Feels almost like a friends basement and the warm welcome always feels like you're coming back to folks that you've known forever. Can't wait to come back!

Cozy venue for karaoke but you must book a table in advance. We arrived to find every table booked so we only stayed for one drink before moving on. But the barkeep was friendly and the atmosphere makes me want to try again.

Absolutely the best place to come with your friends! My friends and I have come for many Friday nights for karaoke! The owner and staff are all amazing and ensure everyone has a good time! Very inclusive bar and a welcoming space for members of the LGBTQ+ community! Swizzles is a second home!!!

Best damn bar in the city. All the bartenders are legends. Friday nights are packed, loud, fun and safe. If you go, tell them that Jack that tipped Tony $100 recommended Swizzles.

It's a nice place. Little small but cozy at same time. The staff are really polite and friendly. During the COVID restrictions, they are following all the rules, so it's a safe place. I've been there for a karaoke Friday night. It was really fun. I recommend it.

Friendly staff, welcoming environment for queer women in my opinion. Drinks are expensive, but not more expensive than other places today. Karaoke night was fun and was able to socialize. I would definitely recommend this bar.

I watched a man leave their bar who was so drunk that he could hardly walk or talk... he then targeted two women by proceeding to hit one in the back of the head and then threw a brick at the other. When the owner was questioned he victim blamed the women by telling them that they were targeted because of the clothes that they were wearing. I am disgusted that the owner thinks it's okay to over serve to his customers who are always so drunk that they cannot form sentences and then blamed the victims who are attacked by them. I have lots of videos to prove every allegation I have made.

Mel the bartender had no customer service with me enjoying my night dancing and keeping the bar vibe upbeat. Everyone loved it...except Mel. At one point she told me to "Move, out of her way..practically pushing her way around me" which I almost lost my footing because of her. The only good take away there was the kareoke that night and the general atmosphere. I will not be returning to Swizzles, thanks to Mel's horrible customer service.

I went for the first time last night with my partner on our first date. Welcoming atmosphere and great drinks. Since it was karaoke night I tried it for the first time. Definitely going back!

Very friendly little bar in downtown Ottawa. Staff was very welcoming and had a good selection of drinks. Wasn't busy but we were early ... karaoke was on offer this evening and they lots of information on this weekend's pride events.

Very undersold place. For a downtown bar - it's a surprisingly friendly, cozy, comfortable dive atmosphere. You can have a very fun and affordable evening here. Best drag show in town by far! And... only $5 cover show I know of here. Comedy night is also a must see - lots of local artists practice their trade on this very quiet night.

This may be a small venue, but it has the biggest heart in the whole damn city. The staff are all so kind and sweet (special shoutout to Tony and Griffin!), it's kept very clean, plus it's extremely safe and welcoming for everyone. They host all kinds of weekly events like drag and comedy, so if you need something to do in downtown Ottawa come here!

Sam is the sweetest bartender I’ve ever met! So thoughtful and kind. Really amazing service. Someone that is truly passionate about their job and shares their positivity with the world. A true asset to any business. An excellent experience on a Saturday afternoon while the bar was absolutely empty.

I went to Swizzles for the first time to see a Drag show and it was so much fun!! The staff are the sweetest, the performers were fantastic, the music playing before and after the performance was lit!! Such a warm, inclusive and fun place to go, I'll be back!!

Love the atmosphere and the servers but the new karaoke DJ is the worst. I leave my house once a month just for this guy to go out of his way to skip my song. 3 times now. I miss Dog

Swizzles isn't swanky but it's a great place to have a drink. Usually there's some fun event going on so it's rarely dull. Also the servers are all wonderful. I love going there.

I went to this bar with a couple of friends and we were forced to buy drinks!! As soon as we sat down the waiter rushed to us, said that people were waiting outside to order drinks so every one of us needed to buy drinks if we wanted to keep our table. He made us pay BEFORE getting our drinks from a table!! I would not reccomend this place for anyone looking for a chill bar

Very good place to go for local talent! The artwork on the wall is beautiful and adds a nice touch to the place. They also sell popcorn! My friends and I loved that!

Nice cozy place to have drinks

Drinks were cheap but great and we came during a comedy knight with no cover charge. Just pay what you can. Also my fiancee used to go here often for karaoke back in University and says it's super welcoming and fun. Love this place and can't wait to return.

This is a one of a kind bar with amazing Staff and patrons alike. The themed nights are what keeps me going back from drag and burlesque to karaoke! If your looking for a fun evening out on the fringe of Ottawa. Swizzles is the place to check out. It is definitely one of Ottawas most inclusive bars.

This bar was absolutely incredible, I strongly suggest making a reservation. We popped in last minute, fortunately it worked out that a group let us sit with them. By the time we left it felt like we had known everyone in the bar for years. I will be sure to make multiple reservations on my next trip to Ottawa. I cannot express enough how much we loved the owner, bar staff, the karaoke and the overall atmosphere.

This is my favourite bar in the entire world. Safe, fun, cozy, and the staff stick up for us. So many events, COVID safe! Come if you've got your vaccine, its always a good time.

This was my first gay bar experience and it has easily become one of my favorite memories. I can’t wait to go back again some day. Tony the bartender made every night I went fun and memorable. I’ll be back again next year for more memories
