Mid East is by far the most consistent Arab food store in the Ottawa area. You can always count on Khaltou Mado & Ali the manager to assist you with any product requests. Customer service is on point, store is well kept and there are public washrooms available. Recently, I went on a mission to find 2 specific seeds that are only sold here. They are always stocked and offer great selection of produce and meat as well. Check out their Olive oil isle also!

Cannot recommend Mid East catering ENOUGH! Eli stepped up to provide us with a beautiful buffet after our caterer canceled 2 days before our daughter's wedding! The food was plentiful and delicious! And very grateful for the special touch of his Mother's decorating the platters!

I shop here regularly. They have a very nice little meat counter. A great place to buy lamb and veal. Great selection of middle East spices, pastas, rice varieties, couscous, beans and lentils. They also have great produce. Prices are competitive with other grocery chains.

This store offers a huge variety of different products! All the prices seem fair and it's so cool discovering new ingredients and items. We bought some of the breads and pastries and they were delicious. The house made hummus, tabouli and hareesa where also so fresh and good. There's hot food you can buy which looked really good too and I was also able to find Chinese Pomelo for only 3.50 which is cheaper than what I've seen in Chinatown! Our cashier was very kind and I will definitely be back with my roommate especially as Ramadan approaches!

Every time I go there I’m greeted by a lovely lady that works there! Ghalia. She’s one of the most beautiful souls that works there. Every time I go I make sure to go see her in the bakery just so I can have a sweet conversation with her. Her costumer service is outstanding and amazing! This is one of my favourite stores to go to for fresh produce, and baked goods.

Great place to shop or pick up takeout! I honestly need to stop here more often because there are so many hot food takeout items . You can't go wrong here with the Lebanese pies! As well, there are several dessert takeout options!

Nice selection of spices, cheese, and olives. Staff are always friendly and helpful. They carry some staple gluten free products as well. I find it can be a little too busy and difficult to not get each other's way.

They have a really good hot and cold food bar. The pasta salad is my favorite. I also come here for their large selection spices. But I usually end up leaving other new things to try.

Today was my first experience at Mid East. The food was delicious. The staff was welcoming. The environment made me want to sit at a table and read a paper. I was so happy with my experience and I will be back many time. Thank you, Mid East.

By all means this is the best place to buy your meat and cheese pies. They are made of the original Lebanese home made recipe. No cutting corners no artificial flavors or additives . Shopping there is so enjoyable as if you are in Lebanon.

A grocery that is well-stocked with whatever grocery items you may be looking for, including Subcontinental and Middle-Eastern. The same goes for the Butcher/Meat Section. And they will prepare the meat according to your specifications. One good thing about this store is that the aisles are wide (very necessary) and clean. A visit there is usually always very productive.

Great store. AMAZING pies. Highly recommend the zataar and cheese. Well organized. You can always find very interesting things there.

I would describe this place as one stop for quick and proper meals and middle eastern food and grocery and other household items. Fresh pies, buffet, ready to eat food items, nuts, varieties of drinks, cooking utensils and what not. Must visit, highly recommended if you looking for traditional items.

This grocery store has lots of fresh produce, near, cheese, and baked goods. It offers spices and canned food from all over the world. Their tea and coffee is tasty with competitive prices. It also offers pots, pants and cooking tools. The wait at the cash is short.

This is a very nice Arabic supermarket with a great selection. The spinach pies, meat pies and kibbeh that are baked and refrigerated for sale are fresh and flavorful. Watch out for summer of the shelf goods as they are purported to be Arabic but are actually from Turkey. Take time to shop the whole store and you will discover some very hard to find items from Syria, Lebanon and the rest of the Arab world.

What a great grocery store! Expanded their floor space since I was last there but they still have an amazing selection of herbs and spices and now a huge selection of fruit, veggies and pre-prepared meals as well! Lots more but just commenting on what I was looking for today. :-)

Fabulous grocery store filled with a huge selection of middle-eastern foods. The selection of olives and varieties of feta is astonishing. Their cardamom coffee is delicious! Plus there is a counter with hot food and a sitting area to enjoy it in.

"I recently tried to buy a shawarma from the guy making the sandwiches, but unfortunately my experience was far from enjoyable. The guy who was making the sandwich had visibly dirty clothes and was very rude to me, which made me feel uneasy about the hygiene of the food. Despite this, I decided to go ahead with my order. However, when I received the sandwich, there was burly any meat and it was filled with vegetables, which was a major turn-off. Overall, I cannot recommend this place due to the hygiene concerns and lack of attention to detail."

Good sized ethnic grocery store with bakery, butcher, fresh produce and many specialty items from arabic, latino and other regions. Prices are fair and the selection is impressive.

Honesty is the most important thing for me. How can one earn halal rizik if they are not honest. I went to get meat the guy charged me 2 dollars per chicken to remove skin. I mean how long does it take to do that. I have never been charged before, usually there is an older guy who does it and he has never charged me extra. What double standards! I asked if they have organic chicken and he told me yes this is organic - aka the chciken on display. I have bought enough organic chicken to know that if a chicken is the size of small turkey it is by no means organic. How can one lie so bluntly!!! They have good stuff but I will shop for meat elsewhere.

I used to come here once in a while for fruit and veggies that are harder to find elsewhere along with some middle eastern specialty items but with Adonis down the street so much brighter and well laid out, and prices that seem competitive, I haven't come Herr very often. They still have a good olive selection and occasionally I can find quince fruit here too.

This place is a fun to shop at. Many international products at reasonable prices. You name it, they have it in quantity: spices, teas, desserts, nuts, fresh olives, ...... A deli and meat counter.

2022-11-23-checked out this shop while waiting for auto repair. This place is busy on wkends but nicer if you are in the area mid-week. Found the spices I couldn't find elsewhere & a few other items.Bought samosas & had one heated to have with a coffee. There's a small break area & they have public washrooms.

Best babaganoush in the city, hands down! Since I come from out of town Lena from the bakery gave me a little tip, you can actually freeze it without any change in texture or taste. So I buy it by the kilo when I come in. Tried em' all, theirs is the best.
