    A good place to purchase makeup. Many different luxury items and very popular brands. Most associates have basic general product knowledge, so if you come into this place looking to be educated and offered solid advice, then you should probably do your homework online beforehand. They do have an in-store eyebrow shaping and waxing station, they also offer makeup application and in-store facials. Sephora has an extensive line of Cosmetics, skincare and beauty products that can be significantly less expensive dollar-wise than the leading or popular brands, however you will compromise on quality. It is not difficult to walk out of the store $500 lighter in your pocket-book. The service at the cash was quick and we appreciated their attention to detail as they inspected every single item we purchased to make certain that everything was in tact with no damage or previous usage. They also offered us proper storage recommendations for each of the items that were purchased and updated the information on their points program. I would have rated them higher had the overall staff been better informed. It's very compartmentalised, so if you are there for something specific, chances are there is one person who has that specific product knowledge. Also, I found that many of the girls/ladies working wore makeup that was awful!!! It actually discouraged me from purchasing foundatiin and other certain products. Yikes! #localguide

    Beyond disappointed with the cashier experience today. Vanna was extremely rude, impatient and showed no interest at all in serving customers. It was also my birthday month and I had mentioned my free birthday gift. She flatly said "we're out. It's the holidays you know." I know it is busy with the Christmas holiday season. However customers still should be treated with certain level of respect and customer service. Perhaps even a smile. It goes a long way! I would like to mention that the young lady who helped me pick out brown gel was amazing! Super nice and knowledgeable. I wish I had noticed her name tag.

    I'm posting this because I had an absolutely horrible experience at your store. I was looking for assistance regarding a product and a very rude and unprofessional young woman dismissed me like I was some peice of trash. She ignored me when I requested her help and once she finally adressed me she rolled her eyes in such an unmistakable fashion I was actually shocked and speechless, her name tag said "Vanna" on it. I put the product down and left the store immediately after and wont be returning, I can only hope Sephora will see this review fire this young woman for being such a terrible employee. Having someone like that representing the Sephora brand will only create more bad reviews of your store like this one. Don't bother going to this store unless you would like to be treated like garbage by the staff (at least that individual) for simply inquiring about a product.

    If you don’t beg for help.. they won’t help you. They tend to look at your outward appearance before assisting you. Every time I go in Sephora, it’s to purchase something .. so staring at me while I’m looking for items is not “assisting customers”. It makes us uncomfortable. Some are just plain off standish. I rather shop online .. and regret going in EVERY SINGLE TIME.

    I did a same day order online. I got 2 items and got an amazing deal with a coupon and gift card. Then suddenly one the items is out of stock so they cancelled that item. I wanted to cancel my whole order to get the discount another time and it literally said "to cancel your order chat with a representative" so I did and they can't even do that. I ordered it 30 mins ago and apparently it's "out of the time frame". Don't have items on your website that are out of stock and let people cancel their orders when it's your mistake.

    One of the busiest Sephora locations in Ottawa. The staff is usually all over the place dealing with the downtown chaotic traffic, though if you're into fragrance they have a great selection of new releases. Ask for Elena, she's an expert and will sample you any fragrance or every scent you like!

    This was the first time I had terrible experience at a sephora store. Their customer service is horrible and staff is extremely rude! I asked a lady to help me out with the foundation shade and she sent me to another lady who was just terrible and irritated to being with. She used the shade finder in me like 3 times and when she finally found it. She didn't even let me see which was it! She told me to check my email.i asked her for a sample and she told me, "we don't do that here. You need to buy it." Not sure if sephora changed its policy or this girl was plain rude! Not gonna go to this store agai.

    Shouldn’t be surprised by the casual racism but 9 years later here we are again. As a former employee, went in store to replace items from my lost luggage with my partner. I spent time with two employees who were amazing and had the second employee (Mia) cash me out. At this point I had given my beauty insider information (which had my full name and purchase history) yet the tall bald man was aggressive and asked for my identification when using my credit card with the same full name. Having worked here before, I know they constantly only call black and people of colour as Nora’s (aka thieves) on the headset, never promoted BIPOC into management, and now I’m being racially profiled for using my own credit card. I’ve seen people of all colours make larger purchases that never needed id, yet when I make a normal purchase (with the highest ticket item being $160) I am suddenly being quizzed. Don’t come here. Sephora has not changed and continues to allow racial biases seep to the store level. Yucky and happy that I no longer have to represent a brand with such outdated values.

    Was looking for a particular item. A lady showed me where it was. I asked if they have a top of the line product for curly hair. She showed me a product. Started to ask questions about this product and she said she would be right back. Then I see her helping other customers. I laid down the products and left. Not happy. Wish I could have got her name

    I visited Sephora with a friend with an intention of purchasing makeup to restock, however, in the middle of our shopping we got stopped by a worker who accused us of stealing and even asked us to show our bags when all of the makeup was inside of the Sephora shopping bag. I never felt so uncomfortable and upset with a store who ruined our shopping experience and embarrassed us in front of other customers. I hope next time they carefully think before they talk.

    I was travelling from Montreal and forgot my makeup bag at home. Instead of offering to make and exception to the new ‘’no sample’’ policy since COVID they suggest I buy everything I needed for 1 night….but my main issue was how come you cut down in ALL darker shades ??? The employee did try to help me but all I needed was fondation and concealer.

    My fiancée was trying to buy a brush on boxing day. The written price for each brush was $10 ( because of discount in boxing day) but we were getting charge for $24. The cashier refused to match the price. Then I ask for a manager some one pretend to be manager and refused to match the price again. as far as, I know there is something called "Scanner Price Accuracy" that store like this won't ripe off customers. stores are supposed to be clear and honest with customers about their price, but this store is stealing from people! Imagine how many people thought that they were buying this product in boxing day with discount but they were paying full price $24. This is scam!

    They followed me around the whole store and accused me of stealing. When I offered my bag several times they refused to look and started being extremely condescending. Nothing wrong with the products, I love their stuff but their employees and security were so rude. The situation made me so uncomfortable to the point that Idk if I want to shop there again.

    I appreciate that when you don't necessarily want to speak to an employee while shopping, they keep their distance, but when you do, they're always willing to help. The store is as clean as it can be with the amount of people that flow through and the number of products that they carry. I like having the option of seeing products in person before buying to get a sense of the quality and size. My only area of discomfort is whenever something strange seems to happen at checkout, sometimes management will place the blame on me even if it was a systems issue or a lapse in standard operating procedures occurred on their end.

    In my 8+ years of being a loyal Sephora customer I have never encountered a Sephora employee as rude as Christal. She is dismissive and disrespectful to customers. The store closed at 6, and at 5:40 when I tried ask to step in to grab a few items, Christal curtly interrupted me to say “We’re closed” in a disdainful tone. She never offered any explanation (the store was closing early that day despite not being posted anywhere, which I only found out afterwards) or even an apology for the inconvenience. There was absolutely no level of empathy for customers who travelled to the store thinking it was operating on usual hours. Luckily I didn’t take it personally because I witnessed her barking the same thing rudely at other customers trying to enter the store which was usually open at that time. As someone who works in customer service, I absolutely can’t imagine speaking to customers that way, and I’m shocked a store with such a great reputation has employees like this. I understand being frustrated after a long shift or by having to give customers bad news, but I absolutely don’t understand speaking to them as less than and unworthy of courtesy of an explanation.

    My last visit at Sephora was but a dream. KAT is the employee who helped me. I appreciated 3 main things about our interaction: 1. She did not lie: When I presented her with my dilemma, Kat, said: I do not know, but we'll find out. She did not lie about knowing the answers, she tailored the experience to my needs. The fact that she did not try and lie, makes me trust her 100%. I would definitely always try and find her for help. 2. She was curious: I TREMENDOUSLY appreciate the curious nature of her questions. She did not try to tell me about other people's experiences, but drawing from it, to ask the right questions. I believe it requires some level of empathy, to put yourself in someone else's shoes and ask the pertinent questions. THANKFUL for that aspect of our exchange. 3. She actually provided me with insight: I bought the AMIKA BLOWDRYER and wanted to purchase one of the line products along with it. She was able to ask me what my experience with other products was to really let me know about what I COULD get from the oil from the AMIKA line. I ended up going for what I usually go for, the Moroccan treatment oil, but the back and forth was insightful for both of us. I gave her my insight on how some oils perform on my type of hair and she was so receptive of the information... it was spectacular. (Bonus) 4. She did not shy away from my questions, and accepted the ''challenge'' like freaking CHAMP: What I mean here is that, KAT, did not try and divert the topic at hand. She did not try and find someone that LOOKS LIKE ME to help me. She handled the whole interaction with such poise, understanding, and expertise. Whenever I was asking her questions about what other clients that have the same hair type as me have said, she had answers, which made me believe that she can ACTUALLY CATER TO DIFFERENT populations, groups, etc. and relate. All in all, Kat was fabulous... I loved her, and it was a pleasure typing up this review for her. She deserves it. She was fantastic. Good job Kat, and I wish you NOTHING BUT SUCCESS. CALL ME, IF YOU WANT TO OPEN A YT CHANNEL SO WE CAN REVIEW SEPHORA PRODUCTS ♥♥♥ Meow meow.

    Got wrongfully accused of stealing and the person didn’t care to apologize. When I spoke to the manager she couldn’t care less, she asked me to give them my phone number but never heard back. The manager didn’t apologize and didn’t ask me who disrespected me like that. It was very humiliating.

    I’ve just got out from the store Jan 15 2023 at around 2pm I asked a Sephora representative for a blonde purple shampoo and showed a picture to specifically show which one I wanted, and when I showed to him he had an attitude with me because it was was out of stock, I’m sorry but I was just looking for the one that I’m used to take and that’s better for me overall I’m not coming back at that specifically Sephora

    I went there today with my 8month old daughter, my hair was a mess and I had no makeup what so ever on my face. Stephanie helped me with finding my shade of foundation and primer. While doing all of that my daughter was climbing all over me, and saying hello to Stephanie. Stephanie was so kind, so patient, and just a really lovely person you totally would want to spend your entire day with. Truly such a beautiful person she was. Thank you Stephanie for showing the kindness you don't see too much these days ❤️

    Ultimately disappointed and disgusted by the customer service in that store. The so call manager Laura was rude, shouting, and aggressive over a simple product return. She didn't hesitate to lie and I had to call her out. Please do not waste your time and your money going there. The staff has zero respect for the clients, and they don’t care since Sephora will not take any accountability. Terrible place to do business with.

    The employee working there named Nona was very knowledgeable in the products and was very helpful. I came in to buy my sister a gift and I was clueless about women’s products. Nona was very patient and made sure I received legendary customer service. I left the store with a bunch of products and my sister was very happy with the choices Nona recommended us. If anyone ever comes by the store I recommend getting help from this young lady specifically due to her excellent customer service and knowledge of products.

    Hello I want to share something There birthday gifts and free samples of perfumes are not good in quality and quantity. I have received ILIA mascara as a birthday gift and it has so bad smell gives so much itchiness to my eyes like ash from cigarette.when I have complained in the store they have oh it’s nothing. They did not entertain .( just gave the excuses) said we do not have any more. I have ordered some stuff online and added free perfumes sample. It came but just for formality, the sample was lower than half. Improve your services, if you are selling so expensive products. Thank you

    I come here often and everyone is extremely helpful and go above and beyond! Except for one new girl - I recently went during their Black Friday sale and she was on cash. I told her to choose my rouge account when cashing me out and she told me it wasn’t rouge. I told her again it is rouge and I know ift but she still refused (which I didn’t understand at the moment). She offered me a birthday gift and first I said no then I said nvm I’ll take one. She rolled her eyes and made a face as if it’s a big inconvenience for her to grab it again and put it in a bag. I was still polite and thanked her and even apologized for changing my mind. Later I found out she put my purchases on the wrong account even after telling her several times to put it under my rouge account and repeatedly told her my email. It was so simple and could have been done politely. I’m only there to spend money in your store anyways so no need to be rude and just take a minute to listen to your customer rather then belittling them on the spot.

    I had a great experience having my makeup done by Kat. Highly recommend her if you want a makeup artist who will also explain what they're doing so you can try to recreate the look! If I was rich though I would have Kat do my makeup everyday. For now, I'll be going to her for special nights out!

    Wish I could give this location 0 stars! Stay far away from this location!! I made an online order and they refuse to let me return/refund the product after showing them proof of purchase. I’m gonna think twice before supporting this horrendous company. The manager was clueless about the policies (how you literally work there) alongside the co workers there they were unhelpful and wasted my time! I hope it gets shut down

    I went in with my friends and we were being followed by employees and a security guards, we had no bad intentions while walking in there. We felt really uncomfortable and felt the need to leave the store immediately. While walking out the door watcher had pointed and said “you bye!” To one of my friends. I’m extremely disappointed and uncomfortable with the experience me and my friends had at sephora. Will not be returning this this location!

    Absolutely so disappointed that we are not respected to browse or given a comfortable atmosphere to try without being pressured to buy immediately or staff will sort of wait around annoyed with your interest in the products! Also if you are genuinely interested in spending time in store getting to sample you are rushed and expected to have an idea beforehand because good luck trying any fragrance in peace. You are not supposed to sample on the skin, and aren’t given any premade if you were to ask. You are treated as if you are a thief for simply coming into store with curiousness - I assume if you aren’t in need of help or recommendations because you prefer to try by trusting your own nose is considered suspicious. Thanks but no thanks. I would rather shop at other such stores where they don’t treat customers like this. Totally uncomfortable today - I really wish this experience could have been a little more relaxed… as if to offer assistance because you are determined to deter potential “theft” it’s very obvious that the staff are more concerned with being the head of loss prevention team rather than building lasting impressions on their customers. I am not welcome to touch anything without glare and it is VERY implied with body language … asked a price on the product and I was given “it’s 1 HUNDRED” ! all answers were very abruptly said when asked about details or notes on any of the fragrances and it shows the level of inexperience and willingness to assist in a positive manner and it’s hard for any customers who show interest for any product to get an idea of it really … when you make someone feel unable to shop at least attempt to do that service with an ounce of enthusiasm instead of hostility. How upsetting as someone who collects fragrances. No one can comfortably try but no one is versed enough in fragrance to help you and the samples are not offered anymore. Thumbs down. Omg.

    I always get my eyebrows done at Bayshore Sephora, and have been happy for the past few years. Since my girl there is on mat leave, I decided to try Rideau, and it was the most dissappointing experience. My eyebrows look chopped, are half cleaned, and I was covered in wax. The girl who was doing it skipped the usual steps (like drawing the lines, applying ointment, and did not offer to fill in), and acted like she did not want to be there. It was on September 12, at 6.50 pm. I will think twice before going to sephora for this now.

    When I first booked my appt, I didn’t know any of the girls at Sephora but the name Mercedes stroke my mind. Bear in mind that the person is as gorgeous as their name. She’s bubbly, very transparent about the services, likes to know what you’re looking for. She found the way to my brows aka my heart hihi! Not only she did an amazing job, but she’s a keeper, I’m definitely going back for more. She shaped my eyebrows and I was shook when I saw the results because I had no hope for my scarce hair, she got the magic hands fingers, call it whatever but she’s amazingly awesome.     As an older man, I have to say I was a little overwhelmed at first. Myriads of young ladies bustling about trying all manners of free samples to pretty themselves and I have to say I felt really out of place. However, i felt much better as i saw men try products as well! And the customer service is emaculate and the sales representatives were extremely well informed what worked and for what skin profile and condition and I was able to find the exact product for my fiancée easily and I felt very well looked after and not rushed at all no matter how busy she was and how many customers were in that store at one time. This business concept itself of letting people try products seems like a winning strategy as no matter what I saw many women getting expert advice and even had make up stalls for customers where experts would give them entire makeovers. I could sense the enjoyment and how much fun all these women were having so definitely a place for all men and women to get their beauty products from here. Highly recommend!

    I went to Sephora for the first time in years the other day looking for a perfume and I was very pleased with my experience. Your employee, Tanya, was incredibly helpful, friendly and communicative. She listened attentively to what I was looking for and made several wonderful recommendations. She was giving us her enlightened opinion and she was just a ball of sunshine. I absolutely loved her energy, and I ended up buying the perfume she recommended. I will definitely be returning thanks to her!!!!!!

    I got help from an associate Nikki and she was honestly amazing!! I don’t think she realized how much of a help she was, I have been struggling with under eyes issues with makeup and have tried everything and she honestly gave me the best product to fix it. This woman deserves all the credit, she made my week!

    It was my first time at this location, yes it was busy but having a busy store is good. I was there to specifically get the new Sol De Janeiro body lotion and unfortunately it wasn’t on their shelf’s yet but it is just rolling out currently. I asked an employee there, and I really wish I had gotten their name, if they had the product in stock and they mentioned it was coming within the next week and they kindly asked if I would like to be notified when it does. I mentioned I was from out of area and leaving the following day but I appreciated them asking. I continued shopping for a couple other products and the same employee came back to check up on me and brought over a small size of the exact body lotion I was looking for and said this was the only one available. I do appreciate an employee that looks into things for a customer and even more so when they follow through. thank you for the great customer service! Would recommend visiting this specific location

    I only recently started getting into makeup due to the ample time on my hands during the pandemic. This past week I decided to splurge on myself and visit the Sephora in the Rideau centre. I was a bit nervous because Sephora has always overwhelmed me. I had a list of things to pick up but needed help picking my shade in the Fenty Beauty foundation. A young lady by the name of Nirvana managed to pick my perfect shade without even touching me! As soon as she realized that I was more comfortable speaking in French, she quickly switched over and had just as much knowledge and advice in French as in English. She then brought me over to the checkout and asked me if I had an account. After searching a few email addresses, and yielding no results she offered to sign me up with a whole new account. Admittedly, I asked questions about every single product in my basket and without any frustration or hesitation, she explained every advantage and/or disadvantage of each product and provided her honest opinions which I appreciated! I was hesitant about buying a certain setting powder due to its price and Nirvana was able to find me a mini-size instead and reassured me that if anything didn’t work out, she’d be able to accept a return or exchange in the future. She then asked me if I’d like to try a product from a brand they had on special that day, explaining that I would get a free gift with purchase. I declined and she was still courteous and wasn’t pushy at all. At the end of the transaction, she still gave me one of the free gifts that contained anti-wrinkle properties because I had mentioned being concerned about wrinkles, as well as a plethora of samples that she scoured the store for. She also gave me a sign up gift for creating an account and handed me a pamphlet explaining the benefits of a membership. Overall, she was extremely polite, helpful and made me feel much more comfortable during my visit. One of my best customer service experiences, give this young lady a raise!!
