After a long, hard drive up from Avignon I came across this gem of a restaurant and bar very close to the railway station. The service was superb and the meal was just what I needed. The staff were very obliging and understanding of a non-french speaking Brit (I failed French 45 years ago!), were more than happy to explain the menu and also make recommendations for both the food and in my case the beer.I would recommend anyone visiting Laon should stop here and enjoy the hospitality.

While visiting the upper city of Laon, we couldn't find a restaurant which was original. We stumbled into Kigo which was a pleasant experience. The food was amazing and you can feel that everything is homemade. The ambiance and the staff was very VERY friendly and welcoming. I would strongly recommend this place if you are visiting the city of Laon.

Calmly you won 't drink sour coffee there , waiting for your train ! Either order food , or drink coffee quickly and leave !!! This is the first time I 've met such a thing !

We came to Laon, passing through on our way to Saverne, to visit the 12th century cathedral surrounded by it's gorgeous medieval streets. We would strongly recommend that you stopped by the "Kigo" restaurant on your way down from the old town, after using the 350 steps leading straight down towards the station. The Kigo has a terrace and a veranda leading to a restaurant which decorum changes according to the 4 seasons, so we were told. A very welcoming place in any case. We had an evening meal (there's a menu for day meal too) and went for their delicious nordic pizzas filled with fresh tender salmon and generous goat cheese pieces on a hand made pizza base! A nice crispy cool rosée and a peach tarte tatin with a dolop or creme chantilly as light as a feather to finish this succulent meal. The team even tried to speak a bit of english and I would give them 100/cent for trying in the middle of a busy night! Thank you to all the team. Bravo to the" Kigo"👏

We dropped off the A26 motorway 3pm on a Sunday in January looking for a hot meal. Kigo took us in and served a special meal because the Sunday set menu did not suit our diet. The food was delicious, the staff were kind and helpful and the environment was very lovely. No more than 10-15 mins off motorway, easy parking nearby. Highly recommend.
