Fun little ropeways for under ¥1000 yen round trip in December 2019. The top does not have a lot to do, but there are some excellent views of Lake Biwa, cats, and a shrine for love. Should have brought someone with me. Ended up taking a picture for some other couple instead. The gold-painted Torii and shrine at the top was unique, too.

We did not use the ropeway . We hiked. Get very 🥵 sweaty and tired 🤤 but its worth it!!! More hiking 🥾

Ropeway that goes up the the top of an old castle and temple. Costs 500 yen one way or 890 return. Leaves every 15 minutes.

This is a beautiful spot off the beaten path of non-Japanese tourists. It has a great view of Lake Biwa and a rich history.

This review is for the ropeway only. The views from the top and the town don’t count. The ropeway is super expensive at ¥890 for a round trip for such a short little ride. It keeps in step with other ropeways in overcharging the tourists who have no other choice other than walking.

So beautiful on the top of mountain

Cute little ropeway, takes about a couple minutes to get up to the top. Nice view of lake biwa up there with a slight hike of about 7 minutes.
