Terrible service from both Torpedo 7 Manukau, and Torpedo 7 generally. This is the short version of the story. We purchased two items for click and collect; got home, opened item 1 - no issues. Opened item 2 and it’s clearly a returned item resold as new. Essential parts were missing, and there was a grubby pair of scissors inside. We called the store expecting an easy fix, and, at the very least, an apology for the inconvenience. Wrong on both counts. The first person spoken to asked why we didn’t check inside the box before leaving the store, as though this was somehow our fault. Should we assume that ‘new’ items from Torpedo 7 are incomplete second-hand products needing to be checked? The second person told us that other stores have either zero stock, or only display models, but the Distribution Centre has 72 in stock. We asked if they could get one in, and we’d bring the incomplete product back to swap over. Now it gets ridiculous. We were given two options: 1) Bring the product back so that they could “inspect” it, and THEN they would order the replacement, making a simple click and collect a three-trip endeavour spread across weeks. 2) If we didn’t want to make three trips, then we would have to order the replacement model, and pay for it BEFORE they would get it in. Remember, this is all because they messed up and sold an incomplete second-hand item as new (with bonus grubby scissors included). This is also a standard item that they stock, and already have in the Distribution Centre. Thinking that this ridiculousness was at the store level, we contacted customer support, and were told the same thing. We just wanted the product that we paid for, but Torpedo 7 weren’t interested without us having to jump through ridiculous hoops. In the end we returned both products, got a refund, and went elsewhere. There are better alternatives to shopping with Torpedo 7. Save the hassle and avoid them altogether. TL;DR: Torpedo 7 tried to sell an incomplete second-hand item as new, and then made it as difficult as possible to remedy the issue. Terrible customer-service. Don’t bother with them.

Honestly the store manager was horrible. He clearly did not know what to do and his staff clearly aren’t trained properly. Horrible customer service. Not helpful. He treated me as if I was stupid. Bad place. Don’t go there. Go to any other torpedo 7 but manukau outlet.

My self and children came into Torpedo7 this morning . We’re looking at the bikes, worst customer service ever not even a hello are you okay? can I help you? from 3of the girls they were too busy giggling behind the counter, And stared at us when we left. We ended up going to 99 bikes and brought 2 bikes from there and had fantastic service.

Staff were very unhelpful at this store and the selection is minimal... more a clearance store than an actual Torpedo7 store. Had trouble finding hiking boots, asked a female staff member who said she would check the stock but she never returned. I then asked a male staff member for help who recommended I try Kathmandu Manukau. Best advice as Kathmandu Manukau was awesome and I bought some great boots there.

Bad service from store manager/ person claiming to be store manager 07/01/22. Camping kitchen purchased over the web did not match any of the picture descriptions both online and in store. Appeared to be a design flaw produced for the batch. The wind guards had excessive amount of vent opening defeating the purpose of having it in first place. Provided the feedback to staff and requested a swap out of the wind guard for a display unit setup instore as all other units they had shared the same issue. Store manager not willing to be flexible and accomodate my request as a paying customer and threatened to not refund my money back as well. He appeared to not appreciate the feedback on false advertising store wide and online. Upon changing my tone a little he quickly changed decision and refunded my money back even though i had still offered him to swap out the wind shield with display unit. Things went sour by that stage and i have left the store regretting buying anything from torpedo 7 and will not be heading there anytime soon. Sad to say what seemed to be a simple fix escalated to a disappointing end.

Bought a Gaiam ultra sticky yoga mat. It was terrible, I wasn't sweaty at all and hands just slid forward doing downward dog - this product is not fit for purpose. Took it back next day & they refused to refund $ would only give store credit. Said it was because it wasn't wrapped... um how would I know it was terrible if it was still wrapped?

The young girl who served us, Naomi I believe her name was, was super helpful and we ended up getting exactly what we wanted 😊 Great service!

Absolutely stoked with the staff working this morning on 5/6/22. Came in looking for a bike helmet and one or 2 other small things as I've just recently taken up mountain biking, the man who helped me out was absolutely fantastic and even gave me a full rundown of MIPS helmets and the pros and cons of everything I asked about so I felt like I was informed and listened to properly. The 2 other staff on the counter were very polite, friendly, easy to talk to and sparked up some great conversation that really brought my mood out of the gutter and told me about promotions and stuff that I wasn't aware of that brought my bill down from about 200 to 177 which naturally I was happy with too. If management is reading this. Give these 3 pay rises. they're fantastic and also guaranteed you my business in the future. if I could rate more than 5/5 I would.

It is the 2nd time I have had a negative experience with this branch. The first one was when I am at their physical store, and the staff was not that helpful at all. I had inquiries but he seemed like he's not interested unfortunately. The second one was today when I made a call to ask for the final price of an item after deducting the staff discount, but the lady on the phone is very consistent on saying that they are NOT allowed to give a discount over the phone. IT'S JUST SO WEIRD BECAUSE I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE FROM THE SAME STORE, AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE FINAL PRICE FOR THE ITEM I WANT TO PURCHASE. IT WAS VERY HARD TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! BETTER GO TO TORPEDO7 MT WELLINGTON BRANCH AND DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS PLACE.

The shop is best for all the sport equipments and accessories. Specially for bike. this one is better and cheaper than Bike Barn for most of the stuff. They do have bike workshop which is very cool. And they do have all kind of bike with different range.

Did not know the store was here, plenty of parking available on site as well as surprisingly good range of products. Got a really friendly greeting I walked in and it was to navigate your way around the store. Displays were great and pricing was available on the product. Fitness area was a real surprise, well stocked and the team could talk to it

Horrible service. Checked Availability online and drove 40mins there. Stuff told me that they won’t give the prices that shows online. Does this store works independently??

I recently had an unpleasant experience here particularly with a staff member named Jackie(Manager). The customer service was subpar, and Jackie's communication was not only rude but also displayed a lack of understanding and empathy. Despite the situation being governed by company policy, Jackie insisted he was doing us a favor. This encounter left me with a negative impression, and I won't be returning to this store. It's disheartening when a simple exchange becomes an unpleasant interaction due to poor communication and arrogance. I hope my feedback encourages improvement in customer service for others.

Terrible service and products, brought two bikes which were immediately faulty and developed more faults, took them back to the service department at mt. Wellington, they failed to fix the faults, then got blamed by the Indian manager at manukau for mistreating the bikes, took 9 months and considerable stress to get our money back

Order things online. Either they never arrive or they disappear once they arrive. They try and refund you but keep the shipping cost. Avoid these stores at all costs. Scam.

I bought a bike holder yesterday. The staffs was friendly. They introduce the product and agreed to help me install it after serving other customers. While I was waiting by my car, another staff just finish loading sth for another customer came over helped me install it and showed me how to do it myself and also told me what needed to be aware of. Good job guys, very happy.

Popped in for some gym equipment the other day. Had Amanda help me. She was ultra helpful and made my day 👍👍

Went to Torpedo 7 Manukau to get and pickup a treadmill and the Manager Shardeen?? (Sorry if that's spelt wrong) and Amanda were of great help. They both even came outside in the rain might I add, to help load the treadmill. Always good to see people that actually care about helping others, and doing what they are paid for ... to do their job. So a big thank you to Shardeen and Amanda once again.
