When
I
booked
this
hotel
on
booking.com
I
wrote
a
message
to
the
hotel
asking
to
confirm
if
parking
and
pets
would
be
an
additional
charge.
The
room
was
advertised
at
£40
and
I
clearly
stated
in
my
message
to
them
that
if
there
were
additional
charges
I
would
not
want
to
stay
there
as
we
have
a
specific
budget
that
we
were
working
with.
On
the
website,
I
tried
to
“pay
later”
but
the
site
would
not
allow
me
to
do
so,
therefor
I
had
to
“pay
now”
and
make
the
reservation.
I
received
an
email
straight
back
from
the
hotel
stating
that
there
would
not
be
any
additional
charges
for
my
requests.
A
few
minutes
later
I
received
another
email
stating
that
there
is
a
parking
charge
of
€8.50
per
night
and
a
pet
cleaning
fee
of
€9
which
would’ve
added
an
additional
30%
to
the
total
price!
We
called
the
hotel
and
asked
to
cancel
but
they
refused.
We
then
called
Booking.com
in
the
hopes
they
could
help
us
cancel
the
booking.
We’ve
explained
that
we
felt
that
the
hotel
forced
us
into
booking
before
we
could
get
an
answer
to
our
questions
and
it
felt
extremely
desperate.
We
literally
had
JUST
made
the
booking.
Booking.com
called
the
hotel
3
times
on
our
behalf
but
they
wouldn’t
give
us
a
refund
and
said
that
they
would
charge
us
regardless
if
we
show
or
don’t
show.
Although
they
offered
to
waive
the
pet
and
parking
fee,
we
were
no
longer
comfortable
staying
there.
We
didn’t
have
another
choice
though
as
options
in
the
area
were
limited.
When
we
checked
in,
the
entire
hotel
smelled
like
smoke,
it
was
gross!
The
receptionist
acted
awkward
toward
us
which
made
us
feel
completely
out
of
place
and
even
more
uncomfortable.
He
also
stood
in
front
of
the
main
building
door
smoking
and
dragging
in
that
nasty
smell
which
we
found
very
unprofessional
and
sickening.
When
we
got
our
keys,
we
inspected
the
room.
The
toilet
had
NOT
been
cleaned
and
it
looked
like
it
hadn’t
been
scrubbed
in
weeks!
There
were
urine
staines
all
over
it-
see
picture
below.
We
went
downstairs,
showed
the
picture
to
the
receptionist
but
he
didn’t
even
say
anything
-
no
apology,
no
nothing-
he
gave
us
a
key
to
another
room.
When
we
inspected
the
new
room,
we
noticed
staines
on
the
bed
sheets
and
pillows,
some
of
which
were
black
and
others
looked
like
dried
blood.
Note
-
this
is
my
worst
nightmare.
I
literally
felt
sick
to
my
stomach.
Luckily
we
had
a
blanket
in
the
car
that
we
put
on
top
of
the
sheets
and
we
used
our
own
pillows
that
we
brought
for
camping.
I
could
barely
fall
asleep,
that’s
how
disgusted
I
was.
The
room
was
quite
small
and
quite
uncomfortable
for
a
couple
and
a
dog.
The
nightstand
lamps
were
made
from
the
cheapest
plastic
material,
just
a
disgrace
really.
If
I
can
say
anything
slightly
positive
about
this
place-
it’s
the
price.
But...
you
get
what
you
pay
for-
which
in
this
case
is
very
accurate.
Although
I
must
say
that
we
had
stayed
at
an
amazing
place
for
the
same
money
in
Germany
a
few
days
prior,
so
in
all
reality
it
wasn’t
all
that
great
value
for
money
if
you
ask
me.
There
were
literally
no
other
people
staying
at
the
hotel
at
the
time
we
were
there.
This
makes
me
realise
that
they
were
extremely
desperate
for
money
and
hence
wouldn’t
let
us
cancel
our
reservation.
Nothing
else
makes
sense.
At
the
time
of
check
out
which
for
us
was
at
10am
(normally
11am),
no
soul
could
be
found
in
the
hotel.
We
were
hoping
to
pick
up
an
invoice
but
the
reception
was
closed.
To
sum
it
all
up
-
I
really
hope
our
£40
were
worth
a
BAD
review!!
I
would
never
ever
stay
at
this
place
again
and
would
recommend
that
you
think
twice
before
booking.
Have
a
look
on
AirBnB-
you
can
get
an
entire
apartment
for
a
few
bucks
more.
