Taste : 10 / 10 Atmosphere 10 / 10 Cleanliness 9 / 10 service 9 / 10 Really good Indian restaurant, I really enjoyed it. The dishes are large and inexpensive. I highly recommend. * It bothered me a bit that every minute the waiters asked if we wanted anything else. Thx guys :)

I really liked the food! Big choice, fresh food, nice service. The food was not too spicy, just enough spicy. Quite spacious restaurant, we found a place for 4 on a Saturday evening. Thanks a lot!

Great place, delicious food, they have very big menu and a lot of vegetarian options. I liked curry with rise and nan and of course sweet bolls for dessert with masala tea. Prices are good, location is fine, waitress was friendly and fast, I had a good experience!

Service was good, food was ok, flavours were mild, definitely not rich, it was not the explosion of flavours that you expect to experience with Indian cuisine. Portions were ok, but not large. I had higher hopes after reading the reviews.

Made a reservation for a fam of 7 on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant called back to make sure of our details. We were sat down right away & were warmly welcomed as well. We started off w/ some appetizers & drinks. Chicken samosas were the best to begin with along w/ some onion bahjee which were also very tasty. Dal soup was the perfect balance for all the main dishes. We ordered around 8 main dishes w/ sides of butter naan, garlic naan & paratha. Wait time was around 30 mins which is very reasonable & it’s to be expected as they prepare all dishes to order. We were occupied with enjoying the cozy interior. All the dishes were served at the same time & it was so worth the wait. Everything came well presented with perfect portions. Rice was so fragrant, all the naan were very fresh & fluffy & the garlic naan was full of flavour & was garlicky in the best way. With the amount of dishes, the portion sizes were perfect to share among 7 people. I ordered the chicken tikka balti for myself & it was heavenly. All the marinated spices weren’t too overpowering & sauce is a good amount for everyone to try & dip in. Everyone loved their own lamb & chicken dishes & we kept ordering more naan & paratha to finish them off. Chai was also very refreshing. You can adjust the sugar by yourself. Indian beer Cobra was also a good light beverage. We were so full afterwards but made sure to order desserts. I personally requested in advance for something along with the dessert cause we were celebrating my dad’s birthday. They were very nice about it & agreed right away. We ordered kulfi, kheer, ras malai & patiala along with some mango lassi. Needless to say everything was great. Nothing was too sweet & kheer was so savoury & authentic. We even ordered more ras malai by popular demand. Mango lassi came in a big glass. Tasty & for money’s worth! Overall, for a Burmese family who grew up eating good indian food, this place was the right choice for us. Flavours were very nostalgic. Service was beyond amazing & all our needs were met very easily. We left the restaurant full & happy:)

Visited the place for the first time post office, as I was super hungry, and based on the rating thought to be a good option, as it’s only 10 mins or less by bus from Amsterdam Zuid. The ambience was very nice and the lady serving us was also very humble and polite. Things went wrong after the food arrived, comparing the food to other Indian restaurants I have visited in Amsterdam, this is not the one I am coming back to. The food is super expensive and the quantities are quite less (again benchmarking with other Indian restaurants). Only the naan was delicious, rest was average or below average. Sheekh Kebab was very very dry, Dal Makhni and Paneer Tikka Masala was not well seasoned, the rice in the kheer felt a little hard.

Great place! Some dishes were a little less authentic and maybe a little too sweet than they come. Love that they play traditional music- deffo a plus! Staff was friendly and good service.

I am so happy we finally found an excellent Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is so delicious, and it had me reminiscing of when I would return again. For years, I have been looking for an excellent Indian restaurant in Amsterdam, which is not an easy task, I must say. The service is very professional and hospitable. I also like that it's very spacious, which is ideal if you are coming with a large group. They have plenty of seating inside the restaurant or outside on the terrace. The location is straightforward to find as well.

Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to a good Indian meal and picked Swagat based on the reviews. To start with the positives: service was good, also the onion bhaji and vegetable samosas were tasty. However, our mains were very disappointing. We had the tikka masala and lamb saag and both were extremely bland & portions very small. My Indian friend suspects that the restaurant potentially uses edible coloring in order to achieve the rich coloring, because it can't be from the spices. Long story short: I won't be coming back for more.

The hostess was very kind. We came with two kids 6 and under, she seated us under the air conditioner, and only looked at me funny once when I asked to swap chicken out for paneer. The food was amazing. Excellent presentation and so delicious!! Keep your eyes peeled for a fun surprise in the dining room art!

Food was really good and above all the service was excellent! It wasn't hard to find the restaurant as the location was great and then we ordered samosas for appetizers and I turned out to be very fresh and delicious..then we tried paneer butter masala, daal tadka and bhindi along with some breads.. Bhindi was the star amongst all but other stuff were equally good. Staff are also very friendly and polite. Overall, it was a great experience.

I am sorry to say that this restaurant did not meet my expectations. The service since the very beginning was quite poor, it took a long time to get a table (although we had reserved) and it was not even clean. The food was good but the portions was small. The naan bread was really below average, I have eaten so much better so cheaper.

We came here for dinner after a long 13 hour flight, not expecting much. But we enjoyed the food and service so much we came here twice during our stay in Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend!

Very good, well spiced Indian dishes (unusual for NL). Delightful and caring young, all female staff. Malevolent and depressing senior male overseer refusing to engage personally with customers or personally take any orders - only directing to the junior staff - created a somewhat spooky atmosphere.

The food was tasty. They served us onion and lemon which is a typical indian thing 😍. The Dal was tasty. So does non veg dish. The staff was really kind and attentive. They asked us a couple of times if we needed anything and offered us water bottles for free. ( Drinking water in Germany is paid service) Car parking is not available at restaurant

Loved the food and the atmosphere in this restaurant! However, the best part was the very polite and friendly staff. P.s. I definitely recommend the butter chicken. :)

What a great restaurant! Probably one of the only Indian restaurants open for lunch in Amsterdam. Easily accessible from the 24 tram. The food: excellent flavors, North Indian style. Be sure to ask for spicy if you like it hot. I had butter chicken, and everything was cooked to perfection. The staff: very nice people. Easy to ask questions and suggestions. The restaurant: beautiful. Lots of seating inside and outside. The decor’ is also very cool. Come here if you want to eat.

Amazing ambience ! The best & tasty food ever ! We travelled all the way from Utrecht and felt every penny worth it for the quality of food & service offered. We ordered the tandoori sizzler which is very very nice. It’s a must try.

What an amazing place. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and had no issues with our allergies and food requirements. The food was so so so delicious. I mean everything and we ordered a lot because the whole menu sounds to good. This will be the only Indian restaurant I go to in Amsterdam. It’s authentic, great vibe, beautiful to sit inside or out and I can go on and on…. Well done Swagat and see you soon :)

The best indian restaurant I've been in Amsterdam, and I've been on many. Portions sizes are perfect, the presentation is nice, courteous staff, nice atmosphere. Their garlic naan doesn't have eggs and is very light. The desserts are also nice, loved the patiala. Definetely my favorite now!

Ambience is great. Staff is very cordial , but food is a bit pricey. Overall quality of food is good. Keep it up. 1 star taken down for the pricey drinking water (6euros)

We made reservation for Friday at 19:00 for 3 friends. We got there on time and ordered 3 mains, 2 sides and a bottle of wine. The waitress was nice. The food and wine were nice. BUT: They don't serve tap water. It took an hour till we got our food. And at the end of the evening our hair, clothes and coats smelled of cooking. Bottom line: we don't feel the need to come back.

Food was good and service was excellent but did not appreciate the wrong depiction of the Indian flag placed in the restaurant, which provides a reason strong enough not to visit again till the time it is corrected. Would request the owners to either correct it or remove it altogether.

The staff was very kind and attentive and the food was impeccable! Very well balanced. As someone with Indian heritage, I find that Indian restaurants tend to be very extreme with their spices. This restaurant had a perfect balance of flavors and was a treat to my taste buds! A definite gem and a spot I will definitely visit again!

Lovely Indian restaurant catering with a welcoming atmosphere and very good service. The food was delicious and quick to arrive. Main courses include either naan or rice and we had a free poppadom tray and sauces too. Veggie options available too and the dishes are not too spicy. I’d suggest the onion bhajis and the chickpea curry/ both delicious. I’d recommend this place if you’re in the area!

One of the best Indian restaurants in Amsterdam. The food is delicious with the right balance of spices & oil. The service is amazing with everyone so friendly & attentive. It has an open kitchen so you can see inside. It is really clean & hygienic. We often eat there or order at home. A must try for authentic flavorful Indian food.

A colleague recommended this place, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is exceptional with balanced spice levels and minimal oil/butter usage. The complimentary chutneys and pickles were delightful, and the hospitality and friendly staff added to the overall fantastic experience
