Almost
everything
about
Chez-Nous
was
impressive
from
the
DJ
dishing
out
contemporary
Naija
afro-pop
to
classic
high
life
tunes.
This
watering
hole
could
easily
compare
to
regular
rendezvous
in
bigger
cities
such
as
Lagos,
Port
Harcourt
or
Abuja
with
its
jazzy
wall
motifs,
outdoor
bamboo
canopies,
and
centre
stage
DJ.
Though
sitting
in
the
outdoor
seemed
inviting,
we
decided
to
sit
under
the
shade.
I
visited
there
after
a
long
dayβs
work
on
the
field
and
headed
towards
the
male
toilets,
I
was
glad
to
find
no
complaint
in
that
quarters.
A
few
meters
away
(walled
off)
was
the
ultimate
outdoor
loverβs
delight
β
catfish
β
I
was
mesmerised
and
immediately
ordered
four
mid-sized
pieces.
Despite
the
best
intentions,
my
co-adventurers
and
I
found
the
spicing
rather
too
peppery
while
the
marinating
was
not
well
done.
This
poor
spicing
dampened
what
would
have
been
the
wolfing
down
of
a
greatly
made
grilled
catfish
and
as
a
result,
a
denial
of
the
full
five
stars
that
I
would
have
scored
this
location
(-β).
Asides
the
fish
experience,
the
beer
was
cold
and
washed
down
the
cuts
of
the
fish
well
enough.
Servers
were
courteous,
while
the
barman
was
generous
to
assist
with
charging
my
dying
phone.
If
I
am
in
Aba
again,
I
will
certainly
visit
Chez-Nous
but
with
the
option
of
choosing
another
finger
food
to
wash
down
my
beverage
;)
