I was lodged here for three days. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, not far from the Wole Soyinka train station (about 10 minutes drive). What I liked about staying there: proximity to the train station, the room can get pretty chilled fast, affordable, complimentary breakfast meals, clean & well flowing water, spacious room, good service, tasty meals from the restaurant What i didn't like: the generator switched off for hours in the afternoons to conserve diesel (under the guise of getting serviced), the intercom not working, WiFi not working, the air in the room was a little damp and made it hard to breathe (more apparent when the AC isn't working), the location made it a bit hard to get stuff in town

It's quite okay, especially the maintenance and service. They do well in that regards. It's a low-key inn but with lots of prospects if they continue doing good service

This was an experience worth every moment of it. I stayed here for a few days visiting a conference in Lagos, one and half hour drive from the hotel. But the hotel ambience, the restaurant and catering staff, and overall top-notch service made it worth the long drives. At the price it's value for money. The rooms are big. You have a dedicated hanger and bag room, and the hot water works well. Too well sometimes. Definitely will visit again.

The location is a bit off the road and I wasn't so comfortable at first but it turned out to be a decent value for money. The rooms are nice, service was good and I enjoyed my stay.

The room and the bathroom are clean. The DSTV channels are limited, but at least there is CNN which works for me. The room is comfortable. Service: VERY POOR!!! I asked for hot water at 5am to make my morning coffee and the server brought me luke warm water that could not dissolve my coffee. I had to go down to the restaurant myself since my call wasn't being answered. No water is coming out of my shower. I called reception 20mins ago and they promised to send up someone to have a look. I'm still waiting. If you are a morning person, be prepared to travel with your kettle, mug and beverages so you don't have to rely on House 56 for that. If you have an important appointment to meet up with, don't wait until 30mins before you intend to leave to take a shower.

Clean rooms, nice ambience, wonderful staff & brilliant customer service. Very close to the train station and the hotel driver Mr Segun was a star. If you want to truly experience Abeokuta & have fun please lodge here. The owner was very polite and on top of his game. I will recommend House 56 over and over again.

Nice hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms reflect the price but the bathrooms needs revamping. Remove the small cubicle; too small for an adult to take decent shower and put in a standard shower.

I had a very good experience at the hotel. The room was spackling clean and everywhere smells nice with 24/7 aircondioning. The one ok f their staffs are very nice, starting from the receptionist and all. They cooked nice food and which are delicious African delicacies, I wish I took the pictures but I think my anxiety make eat before taking the pictures 😋. Maximum security is provided and light doesn't trip off at all. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to have a lowkey/solo vacation probably with your spouse. You will thank yourself later

Secluded secure evironment in the heart of Abeokuta. Well maintained. We had issues with water at some point. What o admire most was the unrelenting efforts made by the staffs to restore it.

This is the most classical hotel in the southern part of Nigeria apart from Abuja Hotel. The room and flat we stayed was exquisite and beautifully furnished with a touch of England in the decors. Love it and wished I could replicate the design of the flat in my new home. Probably classy than Conference Hotels. The only down side is the road leading to the hotel is not motorable for the first 300 metres. The staffs were well mannered, friendly and very professional 👏 👌 👍

Nice place but I think it's expensive compare to what other hotels can offer in the center city. Their basic rooms (Even with discount @ N14,000) does not have refrigerators and wardrobes and the bed in the room looks quite small. The bar person is not always around and you have to keep calling and looking for him. Apart from what I stated above, the place is a nice place inside Laderin Estate, easy to locate but hidden.

House 56 has one of the most spacious hotel rooms I've seen in a while. The location is also calm so if you don't want traffic horns blazing then this is for you. The staff are courteous and the building is well lit. Was a worthy stay.

I have been to Abeokuta several times over the years and stayed in various hotels but the experience in House 56 was unique and different. This hotel is so many things rolled into one, beautiful, comfortable, classy, it is simple, affordable luxury. Right from the time we did the reservations, I was called to ensure that we would get the best rooms. We also got discounts on the already excellent rates. We arrived by train and we were picked up at the train station and also dropped off at our departure date. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. We travelled with kids and it is very kids friendly. The interior was beautifully and tastefully finished, sheets are clean and soft. Overall cozy environment. They served complimentary breakfast and the restaurant had a choice variety of delicious dishes. It was an overall peaceful and restful experience and I will definitely be using the same hotel on my next visit.
