A truly beautiful site to encounter nature in its fullness. Massive water bodies fall down the heavy rocks forming a stream with unknown depth as it flows down. Large tree canopies surround this area. And it is truly an adventurous walk down to this waterfall. It's a beautiful place to capture if you love nature. You'll be blown away. I loved the energy of the water. We gathered that the rocks you can see now will be covered by water in the leak of the rainy season. I cannot imagine that sight, but I'm sure it will be beautiful. This place is not for the weak. There are lots of sunflies that will make it rather uncomfortable. Make sure to have insect repellent or another alternative. Don't forget to share your pictures when you visit. It's in Akamkpa though. Enjoy!

Is it beautiful? Yes!!! It's more adventurous during the dry season as the water level is low & you're able to explore more & move with ease

This is an excellent location to feel nature, the water fall, the awesome views, I saw a rainbow too. Oh and there was this little boy who took us around, I was amazed at his diction, his English was very smooth and he carefully pronounced every word, I honestly think hes wasting away in that remote place. I hope he moves to the city soon.

Located in cross river state, kwa falls is one of the inder visited falls in the state. Its recreational and relaxation spots are no more. I think its mostly visited by explorers and not even by people of the state. It a beautiful place for green bathing. Bird watching, and nature lovers would love this place.

Kwa Falls today is a shadow of itself. This natural reserve used to be a nice place to hangout with family and friends but today it's dilapidated with no existence of government or private sector. The resort house is dilapidated and the roofs have fallen off. The steps going down to the foot of the waterfall is broken and needs replacement. Government or the private sector needs to wake up and give this place the attention it deserves. It's a tourist attraction that shouldn't be left to waste.

Needs renovation, wouldn't recommend you pass the night in that open place, do well to carry a sweater or hoodie for cold and socks to protect your legs from the mosquitoes as well. A good repellant won't be bad, go with snacks too as there are no places to buy those apart from town. Ummm! Your sneakers shouldn't have an all flat sole to enable you hike without slipping and please keep off the wave, it could result to lose of life.

Government attention is needed at kwa fall. The old dilapidated reception building has been converted into a living room. The place is something else

Awesome place..lots to explore.... Lots and lots to explore. Rock climbing included.... Best to go just before at the beginning of the rainy season about early May. Incredible view and scenery.... good to get there early so you have enough to take pictures.. explore the rocks...picnic. The water fall is spread across a vast array of land... So there are many small individuals falls. Please be well dressed for the trip... Joggers and non slippery footwear. It's a 45min drive from main Calabar town... You'll pay a token of N500 for access and additional N500 if you want to get a tour of the rock....

Kwa Falls was cool, but the tour guide was the MVP. Lots of scary stories Like one time, he took us to the foot of the water and then he said “my Queen, I've brought you two sacrifices” My heart sank, when I turned to look at him, he smiled and said “don't enter the water, it's faster under the surface” The silly boy made our day. If the government or some private agency builds a couple of cable cars across the river, it'll be great. Oh, and remember to take photos with the art works at the reception. I uploaded mine.

A natural quiet place to relax. Just about an hour drive from Calabar. The place is begging for resort managers to upgrade it to a more pleasant inviting location.

I had a swell time with my friends; thr tour guide received us well, allowed us time to be ready for the adventure, he took his time in showing us everything. I loved that I could feel every bit of nature there. The view is awesome.

Great view especially the falls. Heavy rains made hiking a risk, so it will have to wait till when it is safer. Lots of work to be done on renovations as the rails are really a safety concern.

You get to feel nature at its best. Serene environment with lushy green vegetations surrounding the falls. The sound of the rushing/falling water against the backdrop of the chirps, sings and shriek of birds is just on a whole new level. The tranquility is awesome. At the base of the fall, there is a flowing stream. You can equally take a dip well kitted and under supervision of the tour guide. (Not advisable during the rainy season, because the flowing current is quite strong) and base stream becomes deep. Oh!...the long stairs to the fall (200plus steps), this will surely test your fitness level.

Kwa falls is an exciting place to visit , you can hear the raging water as you climb up to the reception, there's 234 steps(according to the guide) down to touch ground, the current and greenery around is a sight, I was disappointed at the state of disrepair the reception area is in , it needs intervention. There's chairs to relax under the trees for shade and rest ,it's a fun workout all in all

Kwa falls is beautiful! 234 steps later, we were at the body of water. It is quite refreshing to take a dip after the long walk. The sight is peaceful with lush greenery. However, the government seems to have neglected the area. The steps need a bit of work and the area made more attractive for visitors. You could go there to have picnic with your friends. There is an entrance fee of not more than 500 Naira. You could also support the local art musuem on the site.

This place is really amazing, I went on a vacation to calabar with my friends and this part was the most memorable for me. The sights, the adventure of getting to the source of the fall, the atmosphere, just to mention a few. You won't regret your vacation. The tour guides are very young, and a bunch of characters you will definitely love meeting. Give it try!

A natural resort in a primitive village, this place could be an international vacation site if the government show interest or NGO's

  • 5/5 williams N. 3 years ago on Google
Absolutely picturesque but incredibly humid. I’d advise you go in comfortable clothing. There’s a token fee to access the falls and the experience is much better under the afternoon sun.

Kwa Falls is a beautiful place to connect with nature. The water flow, the sound from the water and trees, the beautiful rocks, the sun, and the way it evaporates the water splash, is simply amazing. I wish I could go there more often.

Totally enjoyed my experience at the falls. If you are into hiking and some adventure, then this should be your thing. 1 hour ride from Calabar city to the falls. The young tour guide was quite impressive, knew his onions. We walked down the steep 130 stairs then begin another long hike towards the actual water falls. Be careful as it can be dangerous crossing the falls, also note the way back is the way you came in that means jumping rocks and hanging on to tree roots for support and of course the treacherous climb back up to level ground! Exciting! 😅

It was an amazing experience. There are about 204 steps although some are bad. The tour guide was the best. He knew the right places to take pictures and he is also good at taking pictures. The place requires proper maintenance. It is a nice tourist centre and also good for relaxation.
