A kids friendly hotel with delicious pizza & juices.

I have been using the gym for quite some time. Even if they are renovating the old place, the new one is really substandard. Even the 'trainer' is not even willing to talk properly. No shower gel or any kind of soap, very few silipers. The receptionist are not available most of the time. The trainer' comes late and acts like both receptionist and 'trainer'. Despite all these I would like to appreciate the security measures they take. It is really customer oriented! Overall with current condition, I won't recommend anyone to join the gym.

Access, potentiality, and building layout is exceptional. Unfortunately it is extremely mismanaged we have given the hotel prepayment without access to the room and were forces to sleep somewhere else but it's nothing but typical mismanagement of the manager, especially Nathaniel. Wish it would improve and still always given it a 5-star rating.

I like the hotel in general. The staff if friendly, the room is clean and food good enough. Two things bothered me; the trafic noice and bad smell especially in the bathroom. I am going back to this hotel. Hopefully they can provide me a room from other side of the building and hopefully other rooms don't have the smell issues.

I've been part of the gym, swimming, and spa package for the last two months. While I've tried adjusting to the crowd by visiting super early, what's really been a downer is the spa. It feels like every time I want to use it, there's an issue. It's disappointing to gear up for a relaxing moment only to find it's not working. It's a bummer, especially when the rest of the facilities are okay. The staff are genuinely wonderful, always kind and eager to help. However, the spa situation really needs addressing. I'm on the fence about renewing my membership if this continues.

We had a KETFO and it was great(one of the best ketfo i had), the waiters are nice everyone is friendly starting from the gate, also the inside(restaurant) is clean and beautiful I can't think of anything bad, i dont know why i havent been there since it is near to my home.

The location of the hotel was good for the purpose of our trip. They have a spa and gym on the property which is good but the room quality was very poor and way beyond my expectation. We're planning to stay for the long term and want to check it out before deciding to stay for a couple of months. Our room was on the 5th floor, there was very loud music which is not encouraged especially for a family who is coming to stay in a quiet area (I believe the loud music is coming from their 6th-floor party or event area). Additionally, We found blood on the bedsheets and some oil spilled on it. We addressed our concern to the front desk and they told us it will be changed but when we went for dinner and returned back late at night nothing was changed. Furthermore, we also had an issue with the room phone line not working properly and the loud room bell when room service came for delivery.

The staff at ELGEL Hotel are top-notch. From the moment I arrived, I was treated as a VIP. The hotel is kept exceptionally clean. The food at the restaurant was excellent in taste and presentation. I was extremely impressed with the gym and pool. Both were well maintained and kept clean. Both breakfast and dinner were included with the room which was a huge bonus for me as it made everything accessible. Nahom was a great blessing for me during my stay. He assisted me with getting my covid test and the results for my return trip home. Overall, this was one of my best experiences in all of East Africa. Thank you Nahom and all the staff for your tireless work and assistance during my stay.

Great hotel with great service too. The prices are also reasonably good and affordable.

Very very very Good

I went there to have family steam and jacuzzi. We booked early, however they welcomed as like a surprise guest and told us to wait. After waiting for an hour they put us on under maintenance steam room. It was very disappointing and so many interruptions. We only use the steam for 10 minutes and then not working. I don't recommend their service. I think they don't know the hospitality service. They even didn't apologize.

It is a true definition of home away from home. The members of staff are hospitable, the rooms are clean and beautiful, well equipped gym and scrumptious cuisines. 🎉🎉

When you drive by the hotel, you only see the main hotel building. So i was surprised to find a beautiful backyard. There is this cosy place in the backyard which can be great for small parties like birthdays, baby showers. The view of the garden is amazing. And there is a small kids playground. There is also a parking space with a shade that can park few cars.

Over all the hotel is nice with clean and great custumer service but when It comes to the spa it is disastrous good massage can work wonders But only when it's not done right if not it does more harm than good and the therapists in hear are the worst with unprofessional techniques and bad attitude when given a comment I don't think they are even trained well other than these the rooms are very small and the staff's walking by talking and laughing out loud not relaxing at all!!! Never recommending the spa to any one better go to other spa service providing professional massage than these place.

I tried to book spa for my family as birthday gift and when i called the first time on Saturday January 28 around 4:00PM the staff was very helpful she really tried to help me, as i am leaving out of Ethiopian she explained all the services and the options to pay through bank, we agreed to book for Tusday which the service i chosen. However when i called on Monday at 10PM to confirm the booking before i diposit the money the rude impolite Staff answered the phone said that no booking for Tusday and i tried to explain regarding the previous conversation with the other staff unfortunately she hung up the phone on my face. I tried to call several time the phone was not picked. As international Hotel having this kind of unprofessional and Rude staff it will affect the performance of the hotel. Please give a proper customer service training for your staff.

This is such a nice hotel. I didn't expect their price to be good. I mean the hotel. I loved the vibe, and the service, they were attentive and caring and their food was comparatively cheap. I mean I pay more in places less luxurious than this. We celebrated a birthday here and we had a cake from them too and they even took good care of us to celebrate the birthday. They opened a birthday song on the TV and they brought the cake to us at the right time, but they didn't allow candles to be lit, and that was a bummer. But generally, it was a good experience.

Very courteous staff especially Yemisrach and Nahom! My favourite stay whenever in Ethiopia.

Never told us that swimming cap is needed for kids and sold us a very cheep cap for 4x expensive. Disappointing!!!!

The Hotel has a very attractive and beautiful view that would refresh a body and soul. They provide a very testy food and have a standard liquor to offer. the hotel is equipped with a standard gymnasium- and there is a massage service in the hotel with a professionals. When we compare the price, they charge some how expensive amount, which is higher that the price for a same product at hotels with same standard.

Wow! We stayed 2 weeks in this lovely hotel. The best point about it is the friendly and caring staff that makes you feel home! We also loved the beautiful and peaceful garden, where you can relax in the sun or shadow. The breakfast was good, too: There is cake, bread, coffee, hot milk, tea, egg, and different other dishes like fried vegetable or firfir. The bed was very comfortable and big, the bathroom is excellent (huge shower with constantly hot water!, good storage space for cosmetics). The cleaning staff was doing a great job. One thing that could be improved is the light system in the room. The light works based on a card which you need to insert into a slot. Unfortunately, the light in the bathroom can't be used separately. That means if one person wakes up and wants to use the bathroom, the light is switched on in the bathroom as well as in the sleeping room. That is not convenient for the person who is still sleeping. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and we will chose ELGEL Hotel again!

Me and my mother stayed for a month and a half at this hotel and it’s good over all. Rooms are clean, people are friendly and great location. A few problem I noticed was there was this awful smell coming from outside and I was told it was coming maybe 3-4 miles of the hotel from a trash dumping ground, this was a year ago. Fast forward on February I called to see if they have available room for one night stay since I was staying in Addis Ababa for 1 night and I was told the price was 120$ a day which I was surprised to because when I stayed there 6 months ago I payed not even half of it but ig it is what it is. Food is expensive though compared to other places but u get good food and good service for the price so I’d say it’s worth it.

The selection of buffet options is minimal. The Ramadan decor and buffet were unappealing to me ☹️. It was the worst, but I received excellent service, I can say that.

I am currently in their spa to use steam and sauna after they make me wait for 1 hr they let me into a crowded spa and after about 10 mins the electricity went out and it has been morethan 30 mins there is nobody to communicate at the reception and they are even letting more people in. I am really disappointed. Worst service ever. Iesson learned.

The staff was great.. accommodating... and overall welcoming... the from the guys at the door all the way to the housekeepers. everyone was great. when I come back I will bring something cool for everyone

This is by far the best hotel in Addis. Not far from anywhere you want to go in Addis. They also have solid gym space for any fellow gym goers with pool and sauna. The service was great and the price was affordable. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Ps I’ve been staying here for almost a month and service only has gotten better by the day. Thank you.

Took a day off to have a spa day and pamper myself. Both the steam and sauna wasn’t working and they failed to inform me with a simple call. I booked it weeks ago and this completely ruined my day.

My family and I were pampered for 9 days in this beautiful hotel. We were the first family to book accommodation with breakfast and dinner included in the price. Honestly... Elgel Hotel has more amenities and well organized than those top rated hotels in addis. I have been a guest for the last two years and the service gets better every time I visit. Location is away from the crowd and safe gated parking. They accept major credit cards. Very convenient.

The staff were very polite and deliver prompt service. The manager was very always available to attend to customers. Housekeeping was fantastic. The gym and spa was a complete experience. All these services at reasonable rates.

Amazing and friendly service, delicious dishes. The buffett is also fine. And I liked it's location being a little bit farther from the center of the city as the environment is clear from the buzzing noice of the city center; it's calm and steady. And ofcourse reasonable price. But the water of swimming pool was a bit cold.

I had a great experience for the period I stayed in the hotel. Very hospitable staff and nice facilities. The hotel is a home away from home. I look forward to visiting again and recommend highly

I have chosen ELGEL HOTEL for multiple stays in Addis and as this time I am at Room # 407. I constantly chose to stay here because of the amazing customer service, cleanliness and amazing staff. The Manager Natnael has been one of the most helpful people I have met. He is knowledgeable of the services provided, humble and polite. In the restaurant, the service provided has been superb but I would like to mention Bethelehem and Aster for going a above and beyond. I will definitely be coming back during future trips. Binyam Et

Beautiful hotel, great staff

For the past eleven months, I had used most of the services in this hotel I had used their gym, spa, lounge, and everything was excellent. Unfortunately, this particular day a bottle of water had me experience an awful day at the hotel. Four security guards were yelling and screaming at me. Not one of them couldn't think of a better way to deal with the problem. Smh... The manager I spoke to was polite and he has an excellent way of understanding my point. The company should educate their staff about “policy appropriately” and whether some policy is adjustable.

Yet There is a lot to do but still a great hotel

The first thing I noticed on my first arrival at Elgel Hotel was the meeting at the entrance by staff. Then there was the design and decor of the public areas, cleanliness, friendliness of both staff and management, spa and wellness facilities, salons, restaurants. But MOST of all for me whenever I visit a hotel is it's rooms. I have stayed in many hotels in Addis Ababa, and I can say without any doubts that Elgel rooms are the best or one of the best when it comes to decor and comfort. They have one of the most relaxing accommodation! Another thing Elgel Hotel have that, so far, I haven't seen in Addis is a very large outside backyard ground of recreational space. The only little "weakness" is it's location with respect to traffic/time to the airport. But overall, it's an excellent place to stay!

My wife saw the advertisement on social media and was excited so we gave it a try and generally it’s not that satisfactory. The staffs are kind, greetings with smile. Major disappointment spa for the family is very below my expectations like the steam chairs don’t seem clean, resting chairs not comfortable, steam room needs fixing of the wood floor generally spa service for family/private here is not recommended. The food at the restaurant is okay with good service. Bedroom not bad could be better i booked for two persons there should be available things for two persons minor things slippers, water, ….

Our group of 15 people collectively agrees on this rating, which reflects on the overall perception of your establishment. It's concerning that a 4-star hotel is at risk of slipping to a 3-star rating due to these unresolved problems. Our feedback is intended to encourage timely rectifications, especially since we are in the middle of a year-long package. Unfortunately, the majority of us have decided to leave, opting for alternatives like the Laphto Mall. Specifically, the gym facilities are a major letdown. Despite the high fees, only 3 out of 7 treadmills are functional, most exercise bikes are out of order, and the equipment is outdated with limited options. Our usual workout time is between 5pm and 6pm, after which we look forward to unwinding at the spa. However, the steam room has been malfunctioning for five weeks now. It appears operational, but the power is noticeably lower since its last repair, rendering it unusable. Additionally, the gym's cleanliness is not maintained daily. The one redeeming aspect of your hotel is the commendable friendliness of your staff, which has been the sole highlight of our stay."
