First time to visit Totot traditional. The atmosphere is so good. The special Kitfo was so tasty. One special kitfo is enough for two people. I love the place. I will definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere alone was worth the visit. The food is amazing. This is by far the best traditional restaurant experience I have ever had. The waiter was extremely helpful and attentive. I will definitely return in the near future.

Best customer service in Addis. A beautiful restaurant with lots of detail of traditional culture. There is mostly meat dishes here with a vegetarian selection. Kocho is served here which I had never seen before. You will enjoy the ambiance and coffee ceremony. Lots of traditional antiques for decor.

We went to Totot to celebrate our 2nd anniversary with my wife. But we regretted visiting them. 1. The waiter who we asked him to take our order told us clearly that he could not accommodate us. 2. After a lot of begging, we have ordered the other waiter a special kitfo and he brought us a regular one. When we wanted him to fix it, we couldn't find him, and when we asked the manager, he angrily replied that only Gored Gored was missing. Unfortunately, they brought us two pieces of meat saying it Gored Gored. 3. They have a bad customer service 😔 We will never visit them again. They don't even deserve 1 star. Totot is totally a fraud

Good food and nice show, but we were highly overchared! Menu prices are not the one that they will charge and then comes tax + service charge. As of menu we would have had to pay 1500+tax+service, in scam "reality" the bill was 2100+tax+service. No that is no how you treat guests!

I always enjoyed being here with friends and families. Totot is one of the famous traditional restaurant with traditional live music and traditional dancers on the big stage, but the price is not traditional it is real. Have fun!

If you want the best food poisoning make sure you visit this place. I ordered raw kitfo and I had the worst food poisoning ever! Throwing up, stomach pain and diarrhea for about 10 days I felt extremely exhausted and lost weight. I was visiting so 10 days In bed I didn't do anything, you can imagine the frustration. I've been sick due to food before 2-3 days max but this one was intense. It's not even me being unlucky I told my friend and my cousin about it and they told me themselves and another family member were all severely sick after eating kitfo there! Just around me 3 people said they had the same experience and it happened in different times and different years so things never changed, at this rate you can imagine how many more people were poisoned. To the owner of Totot if you are reading this I suggest you train your kitchen staff on food handling , you are poisoning people!! You should take this serious it has been going on for years, I think it should be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Totot is such a vibe. Loved the live entertainment on a Sunday evening with people of all ages. This restaurant made me believe that people in Addis do not sleep. Sunday evening was so alive, alot of traffic on the roads for a Sunday evening. Got to taste injera bread for the first time and it was great paired with chickpea soup instead of meat.

We had booked a buffet for 35 people with 30 dishes. But they only served 13 dishes. They said they could not do anything more without apologizing. And we have to pay for the price we agreed on at the beginning. otherwise I call guards And then Mulu called 5 guards forced us to pay that money. What they are doing is robbery. She who booked is called Mulu. Feeling powerless 🤬

I had a lot of fun visiting this traditional restaurant as a group . The ambience is beautiful , the service is awesome! The food is great too, we had a buffet spread ( I think it’s a special service ) … the music and dance was so entertaining, we got invited to the stage for a group dance and it was an wholesome experience . If you’re visiting Addis Ababa ensure you visit here .

They don’t have security at the door for their customers. When you think about the food the prices you pay and the food it doesn’t worth. To be honest I’m not satisfied. I’m very disappointed and I hope you see the outside of your business as a business owner and fix the problems ⚠️. If you still want to go be careful their is people steal things from you at the door. They took my phone, bags 🎒 and they will run 🏃

The restaurant offers traditional culinary from the variety of Ethiopian cultures, the restaurant specialty being “Kitfo”, which was the gourmet dish of the South Western areas of Ethiopia, but has become so popular all over the country.

Totot is a special place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia To enjoy authentic Ethiopian food with amazing traditional dance as well as very patriotic Ethiopian songs. I really enjoyed the songs performed by different artists at this place. You will be amazed by the performance of the traditional dancers when they perform Guragegna, Gojam, Tigragna and Oromigna dance. Be ready to dance and engage with them very well in order to have a spectacular time at this place. I am pretty sure you will have a spectacular time & I highly recommend everyone to at least try the traditional dance.

I visited Totot after 6 years on March 18th, 2022 and it was still amazing as before. We had lunch from the fasting buffet and Tej. The only reason I am giving the place 4 star was the way the manager handled a small issue we had encountered. One of my friend ordered Kitfo and she found a stone in the meat. We showed him what we found in the food and he didn’t even care to address it properly. We didn’t ask anything other than just letting him know what had happened. I wish he was a little customer service oriented to lead such kind of business.

We took our family to this place and we strongly regret, we ordered shekila tebs; the waiters brought us regular one, when we asked the manager to fix for us he said that's how they do their shekla tebs. He was trying to make it that's our fault to ask for better customer service. Avoid this place at any cost!

The worst customer service given by one of your staff named Sisay who made us very mad even till we decide to leave the restaurant. He was very offensive to us My parents are respected people and I was heartbroken when he treated them that way. But thanks to you very amazing customer service fikerte she treated us like a queen we became calm and enjoyed your delicious meal. Please teach manner to your staff(Sisay) Thank you!

Totot is a great place to enjoy traditional food and a lively atmosphere with house music. However the prices can be quite expensive so be prepared to pay a premium for the experience.

They mainly serve different types of Kitfo, and other common Ethiopian traditional foods are not available. It's better to call it a Kitfo place than calling it traditional restaurant.

On October 14, 2023, I had a truly dreadful experience at Totot Traditional Food Hall | Gerji | ቶቶት | ገርጂ. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement. The restaurant staff, especially a person named Daniel, were utterly unprofessional and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. In fact, I was asked to leave the establishment prematurely, which is completely unacceptable. To compound the issues, the staff didn't even provide me with the correct change for my transaction, leaving me feeling like I was taken advantage of. Their behavior was aggressive and intimidating, and I felt genuinely threatened during my visit. Moreover, their attire was highly inappropriate for a dining establishment, adding to the overall sense of unease. The lack of customer service was astounding, as they rushed me through my meal and made it abundantly clear that they had no interest in providing a pleasant dining experience. This lack of professionalism and disregard for customers was truly disheartening. In summary, I strongly advise against ever setting foot in Totot Traditional Food Hall. My visit was marred by unprofessionalism, intimidation, a complete lack of respect for paying customers, and even issues with the transaction. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different restaurant for your dining needs. This place is an absolute disgrace and does not deserve your patronage.

A good traditional restaurant but lacks any vegetarian dishes. Ideal only if you like meat. Basic traditional vegetarian dishes are not there. Not good if you don’t eat meats

  • 3/5 Aman B. 10 months ago on Google
The restaurant had a good atmosphere, but my experience was overshadowed by the fact that the prices listed on the menu did not include the service charge (10%) and VAT (15%). These charges, which add 26.5% of the menu price, were written less noticeably in a small font at the bottom of the menu.

I recently visited Totot Traditional Food Hall and was surprised by their Atmosphere, and excellent service. However, the food portion wasn't great - it was a bit too less for my liking and could be improved with some adjustment. Overall I would rate Totot Traditional Food Hall 4 stars, as the positives outweighed the negatives.

I dined at this restaurant for the first time and enjoyed the delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere. However, I must mention that the customer service left much to be desired. During our dinner, we decided to move closer to the stage for the evening show and requested additional drinks, but we were informed that we could only order drinks if we also ordered more food. Despite explaining our prior dining experience to the server and even speaking with the manager, we received the same response. Consequently, we decided to leave the restaurant. I wouldn't consider returning unless I intend to dine twice 😜. I advise others against changing their seats 😜.
