Do NOT book this hotel!! Our room had mold and it smelled (the entire hotel smells like it), the sheets were dirty and the toilet didn't work. The staff couldn't book us to another room and asked if it was such a big deal to sleep in a room full of mold. The staff was not friendly or helpful at all. I would skip the breakfast buffet. The entire 5th floor with sun beds and restaurant is closed and looks like it has been for a while. The hotel is noisy, dirty, and has no standard at all. Definitely not a 3/4 star hotel, not even 2 stars. We had to stay one night at the hotel, but checked out two days earlier and booked another hotel.

Old Hotel, dirty, very deficient air con, breakfast with a lot of options, beautiful building and reception. Rooms old fashion, with a lack of facilities and amenities. Some of the tiles at the bathroom broken. Staff at reception very polite and helpful. What it makes me to rate so low it is the relation quality-price. I was in the past in hostels cheaper and better.

Once a classy hotel in the 1950's. No maintenance done since. No hot water, no light in the bathroom, broken tiles everywhere and dodgy wiring in the room. They are working to restore the building but for the high price check back in a few years. Staff OK and stable Internet WiFi in lobby.

Stale toast bread club sandwich, with cheapest ham, tasteless chicken, olive from the can. Tiny amount of crisps. Espresso awful. Service is attentive, friendly and polite Building in need of renovation. Toilets are dirty. No sparkling water.

Very worn. No hot water on the 3-5 floors. Seemed like a long term situation. Lots of tiles missing all throughout the building, lobby, etc... The beds were clean and the room was sparse, but tidy. My friends were in a room on the street side - windows missing - very loud. I’d be pretty interested in trying out the Parque Central next door - if I’m ever back in the locale.

Hotel needs serious exterminating service; in a six-day stay, I killed eight (8) roaches; Shower water pressure very poor and at times non-existent; Air conditioner in the lobby was not functioning and so lobby was extremely hot because they keep front doors closed; Phone calls can only be made from the lobby by a receptionist assistant; breakfast buffet mediocre; room and common areas somewhat clean; good location; hotel still has old colonial charm but needs lots of cosmetic upgrades. I recommend you spend a little more for a better place.

A trip from hell this is marked as four stars. But far from a one star. Staff think 24/7 how scam visitors in different ways. Food at both restaurant and bar is awful, i found hair in the restaurant food. But the breakfast was good considering the down economy

I was not allowed in my girlfriend’s room because I was Cuban and my girlfriend was Spanish. The doorman/ Security Guard told me I could stay there if I was a resident of other country. I was discriminated in my own city by someone who also could not stay there. Please don’t stay here if you care about fellow human rights. Please ask any Cuban born in Cuba if I am not saying the truth. Many of us can only dream to see the inside of some of these places. No more Dictatorship and abuse. Homeland and Life!

This hotel wasn't amazing. The rooms haven't been updated in quite a while. The beds were not comfortable and the the air conditioning was really loud. The experience wasn't totally awful when put into perspective that you are in Cuba. One of the benefits (which saved my hide) is that they had a few computers. A few of the hotels that did have wifi never worked properly because too many people were trying to access it. This was in a good location but if you're looking for a comfortable and luxurious hotel, look else where.

I rather enjoyed my stay at this Hotel. It had an Old Havana feel about it, the authenticity makes you feel as though your in a time loop. The rooms are spacious, but the Hotel does need a bit of a make over to enhance the aesthetic. Staff were friendly, and the Pianist created an ambiance that just soothed the soul. Situated close to amenities and worth the stay.

The building is old and it goes you a 50's feel when your in the lower levels of the hotel. The rooms are OK. They could use some updating and maybe some more detailed cleaning. It was comfortable. I think the place could have some real potential if money was put into the property.

Nice Old Havana Hotel with a lot of history. Rooms are what you would expect, and the service is very professional.

I couldn’t pay for my girlfriend’s place in my room; local money doesn’t accept dollars; they don’t accept cash; they only accept a card that goes to the outside terminal)) the rate at which they translate the prices that are indicated in local Cuban pesos at the reception and restaurant; this rate is 1 dollar 130 Cuban pesos normal the exchange rate on the street is 1 dollar 230 pesos, that is, they deceive us at 2 times more expensive, I still offered cash in dollars and they refused, I had to live in another hotel with my partner, despite the fact that I had paid for the Plaza hotel for 7 days))) ruined my mood and the employees communicate with clients without respect, they make a fool of you and don’t even know how to communicate with you))))) I hope the tax office will take care of this hotel - or at least someone will check how this hotel awarded itself 4 stars??? I would not give this hotel even 1 star and rename it a hostel! Old appliances, air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators, everything is old, no wifi??? Are you seriously? 4 stars? who allowed these scammers to give 4 stars??? I’m keeping quiet about a lot of things because the only educated employee of this hotel talked to me yesterday and apologized to the only normal manager of this hotel, so I won’t say anything about the details.

Great location, great staff. Very old building, no hot water...ever. Mattresses were almost unbearable, toilet broke on the 4th day. Almost 50% of the time 1 of 2 elevators was broken. Breakfast was very sub par. If it wasn't for the prime location I would have checked out early

Stylish and expensive hotel. Did not stay but had a drink in the lobby bar and watched the football. Looked nice but very much aimed at wealthy tourists. Staff were pleasant and offered to assist with taxis when we left.

I ordered a sandwich and a beer at the lobby snackbar. The bill came to 1,190 pesos. I paid using my credit card. When I got back home I discovered they charged my card US$1,190! I tried to call the hotel but they were not answering. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS SCAM!
