I have been to Cuba twice (7 years apart) and El Dandy remains my favorite local bar to sit, enjoy great drinks, and people watch. The staff are super friendly & the drinks tasty!

Our favourite bar/restaurant in Old Havana. The quality & prices are the best in Old Havana in our opinion. Also the staff is super super nice. That’s a bar you are looking for when you go to Cuba. Also the food for diner is really good! Some tapas, Tacos etc. super good prices. Also the coffee prices are half of the ones from other “famous” old Havanna bars. Go there!

I Had A WONDERFUL And AMAZING Experience At El Dandy!!! The Food Was Very Delicious, The Atmosphere Was Pleasant, And The Staff Was So Catering To Me... They Treated Me Like Royalty The 2 Times My Tour Guide And Translator Brought Me To The Restaurant! They Even Played Ole' School Hip-hop Music For Me When They Found Out I Was From America!😅 Definitely One Of The Best Restaurants In Havana, Cuba!!! Did I Mention The Food And Drinks Were Delicious!🥰❤️

Our favorite bar/restaurant in Cuba! It’s owned by a beautiful couple who came and greeted us, along with the most friendly host working at the entrance(thanks for all the music recommendations - we love them) We had the best mojitos in town and some delicious food and the price and the exchange rate is more than fair! They also have wifi which is a bonus in Cuba. If you ever read this - thanks so much for everything, we hope to return again! Lots of love x

Good mojito, good coffee, good tacos! What's not to love? It's a cute little place in a busy area but sitting inside helps you escape the chaos just a little.

Great location in one of the most authentic squares downtown, and very cozy decoration. Tried the coffee there and it was really good. I just wish there is no habit of stressing the customers that I see almost everywhere in Havana cafes, and where the waiters come to you every second minute to ask you if you’d like to order something more!!

Very nice stuff. Tacos was also very good. Unfortunately day after eating taco we came back and ordered 2 different pasta(carbonara and pesto) - they didn’t have any flavor and what is worst we get food poisoning. I don’t want to give one star because first visit was really nice, but after second we wouldn’t come back and recommend it

I ate breakfast here twice while visiting Havana. We also stopped in for evening drinks and appetizers. Nice place, nice atmosphere. I would return even though the price was higher than places just down the road.

This was my breakfast go to in Havana. The service is great, friendly, they speak multiple languages, and they keep it very clean and organized. The food is actually pretty good for Cuba. The prices are a little higher than other places around the neighborhood, but the great atmosphere and good coffee made up for it. Great location too, good place to sit and watch life in old Havana. No they do NOT have Wifi any more.

Really cool place in the centre of Havana. Having a coffee, cold drinks and great food while observe the daily life on the streets. We especially liked the amazing photos and artworks on the walls. And the bouncer/host/captain/mayor/whatever at the door: coolest guy.

Went here once while in Cuba. Although it was super hot, the vibes were on point and workers were very friendly. Unfortunately, half the menu was not available so I ordered one of their pasta dishes which was very tasty.

Congratulations -- you've just discovered, quite possibly, the best cafe in all of Havana. This place has it all -- the location, the decor, the music, the service, the cocktails, the coffee, the food, the VIBE. Was thoroughly impressed with all of it. If you're looking for a well-made drink, or a lovely brunch, this is your spot, ya dig?

Close to the Capital in Old Town. Great jazz music playing for a mellow start to the day. Best coffee I had while in Cuba, also the best bacon/ham and perfectly cooked eggs. Great breakfast - and sourdough toast! Fair price for tourist spot. Excellent staff - host outside has such a great way to manage street entrenched and is very welcoming.

We went here multiple times on our trip to Havana and LOVED it. I really enjoyed the Mojito El Dandy, which was made with basil. We ate some killer pulled pork tacos, prices were super reasonable and the vibe was great on a Friday night. It's definitely more of a tourist spot, but the cozy vibe and good food makes it worth a trip. Staff were super friendly and spoke good English, which was a perk. Definitely recommend and worth having dinner & drinks at!

(Translated by Google) Our favorite in Havana, cozy place and delicious food, in the form of tapas, special mention to tacos pollo! The cocktails are very good too. The food is not typical Cuban and the bill climbs if you take several small dishes and cocktails quickly but it's worth it :) (Original) Notre coup de cœur à La Havane, endroit cosy et nourriture délicieuse, sous forme de tapas, mention spéciale aux tacos pollo! A place that is deserving of the hype. All the cocktails we had here were well made and reasonably priced but the pina colada is probably the best we had in Cuba. Food was not bad either. What makes this place great though is the staff. Super friendly and create such a welcoming atmosphere for guests, whether its the guys on the door or the bar staff. There's a reason its busy no matter what time of day you walk past the place.

Place is cute but service is horrible, food tastes ok but is expensive for what you get. One piece of toast and eggs with no butter for the same price as what you can get down the street (eggs, toast, butter, bacon and fresh squeezed juice). I didn't even bother taking pictures of the food. I think it would be better to just come for a drink or a coffee if you don't mind waiting.

We stayed in the area and made this our night cap spot. The staff was super friendly & the drinks were very good and strong. We dropped in one morning for coffee as well and it was delicious too! Highly recommend. The spot is small but that makes for a better experience with people from all walks of life. Good mix of locals and foreigners. It’s location in the Plaza de Christo makes it easily accessible. They also have wifi so that’s a major plus!

  • 2/5 Frank van H. 1 year ago on Google
Been here multiple times during my stay in Havana and have mixed feelings about it. It’s probably the least Cuba-like cafe I’ve been to during my three week visit of this beautiful island, and it seems to me that tourists come here for this reason if they need a break from their stay. The food quality is good, but it’s overpriced and the portions are small. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you’ll likely leave hungry, while there’s better value for money everywhere else around this place. In the end, it’s just another tourist trap.

Super chill vibes, the servers know english. We tried their tacos and they were nice. Drinks are good too. The place had a nice crowd and good music.

  • 5/5 Tassos P. 1 year ago on Google
The place is the least habana-like tourist trap around. It’s really honest. The place that you how much you will pay in CUP, Euros, dollars as it is right there on the board. Prices are decent, food portions for pasta slightly on the smaller side (but cheaper for the same amount of food compared to the rest of the surrounding tourist places). Music is really good and there’s no one that will get a commission on your back. Really liked it.

Quaint lil bar-restaurant where the scrambled tomato egg was somehow tastier than most places I’ve been too. If you’re looking for a breakfast spot, this is a nice spot to park yourself at for the morning.

We were in Havana for a week. Found this place on the 3rd day and came back for breakfast each subsequent day. The food is great, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the drinks are excellent. The Mexican style eggs and the El Dandy baguette were fantastic. Make sure to try the sweet potato fries with aioli!

Hands down, the best food I've had in all of La Habana. The gazbacho was amazing and the food will not disappoint!!!

  • 3/5 Robin 4 years ago on Google
The staff were lovely, as was the espresso and decor. Sadly however it took almost 1 full hour to be served food, for what was two fried eggs with a topping, a little cheese and cilantro (it was nice though and the menu does look very good with a decent range of choice). The El Dandy "baguette" is not a baguette, but a panini, and very poor quality for $6.5 USD (even in England this would be less than $5). The pineapple, ginger and beetroot juice was good. Given the wait time, the 10% should have been discounted - I didn't complain but had I been serving I'd have done that regardless.

Located just next to a square with a cosy atmosphere. Cocktail quality is just good, and the bartender’s original one was pretty nice ( rum, lemon juice, orange and something) You might find a very talkative & friendly guy in the entrance, who is actually really nice. If you need some recommendation just talk to him.
