He recommended me some nice/ cheap places to eat. He is also very helpful anytime you need. The place is clean which is very important to me when I travel. I met some great travellers as well. If I will come back to Havana one day, I will definitely, stay here again! Thank you Carlos!

Amazing place to stay. It is one of the cheapest spots in Havana, but nonetheless clean and save. The manager/owner, Carlos, helps you out with any questions. Finding something interesting to do during the day or night, or booking your bus/taxi/hostels for other towns, he will always be helpful and figure it out with you. I went to Cuba for Christmas trip and stayed in Havana for 5 days. Centrally located, clean place with nice vibe run by Carlos and his family. Carlos provides SIM card rental at a very reasonable price. Also had a list of hotel recommendations for other cities. Would definitely recommend.

This place is fabulous - it is in the heart of Habana Vieja and is clean but very simple (with lots of charme). The owner are great and very helpful. I have been to other hostels in Havanna and its been the BEST. Breakfast included! You have to go!

Could not possibly say enough about these people. We didn't even stay at their hostel and we received 5-star hospitality. When I tried to reserve the private room it was unfortunately booked during the time we were in Havana, but Carlos invited us to come on over and say hello anyways. Turned out we both had little girls the same age so our families spent 3 days together on and off so the chiquitas could play. They have a beautiful hostel with a great little terrace to chill on up top, super cheap dorm room options for backpackers as well as a private room option (still at a VERY good rate). Great little kitchen to do your own cooking if you wish, comfortable little communal area, everything super clean. Carlos speaks perfect English too for those who need it. Seriously an AMAZING family and great hosts. Plus their location is awesome in regards to Havana Vieja and everything you want to see! Highly recommended! Guaranteed you will feel like family. Need any advice for travelling around the rest of Cuba? Guaranteed Carlos will help you out with whatever you need! Just ask!

The best place to stay in Havana! The hostel is really great and the communal area is beautiful. Delicious breakfasts are served with loads of veggies. Rooms were cool and clean. Most importantly, Carlos and Annalise are the most hospitable hosts! We arrived in Havana very stressed from our journey. We were confused about how things worked in Cuba, but Carlos helped us with everything: currency, laundry, SIM cards etc. It made our trip so enjoyable and stress-free.

This is a great hostel with the best hosts you can ask for. Anelis and Carlos are very kind and warm-hearted people. They were super helpful, offering me reliable and relevant information for my trip in Cuba, they helped me plan my trip, and invited me to join a local celebration. Having stayed at primarily hostels on my trips abroad I can safely say that Hostel Mango is the most welcoming hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Breakfast is included with your stay and the food was fantastic, feels like home. Sitting just south of old town in central Havana it’s close to all the “touristy” stuff if you’re into it but my standout was this really fantastic bar “paco del Mar” ask for Rey he’s a gem. Highly highly recommend 👌👌

I came in March during the start of the pandemic with my girlfriend and we couldn’t of had a better stay. We contacted the host Carlos and he was fully booked and he still helped us in many ways to find a place(beautiful apartment for cheap$), places to eat, places to visit, how to get around and etc. He’s genuine and humble and enjoys what he does. I’m 18 and so is my girlfriend and he took us under his wing and guided us around. Great guy very helpful.

Best place to stay in Havana with the best hosts! We had an absolutely fantastic experience staying at this place, mostly because of the extremely kind, helpful and friendly owners, Anelis & Carlos. The hostel itself is clean and orderly and centrally located in the old town. The beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets. The top floor lounge area was beautiful and a great place to hang out and meet other travelers from around the world. The breakfast was great & fresh every morning. Most importantly, the owners made our stay so much better than expected. As Cuba is quite a quirky place to get around, they were extremely useful and helpful in providing transparent, authentic and useful advice about different options and prices for travel, staying elsewhere, getting internet, where to eat, etc. For example, they would provide several options about how to take transport to the theatre or beach and tell us exactly where to go to get the transport and what to expect. They were also extremely kind and generous. For example, one day they bought tickets to a ballet show and invited other hostel guests to join them and refused to be paid back for the tickets. There is also a German girl, Clarissa, who is temporarily working at the hostel for several months (2023), and she was super helpful and friendly, taking us to a shared taxi stand, or showing us where to go, and even going out with us to the beach or go dancing. We were supposed to stay in other locations in Havana, but after staying there for just two nights, we decided to book the rest of our entire time in Havana with them. Thank you so much to Anelis, Carlos & Clarissa for making our stay in Havana unforgettable. The vibe of the hostel was really great and we highly recommend all travelers to choose this place.

I’m a world traveler and this Hostel Mango is the best in Havana! Best location in Old Havana. All the tourist attractions, shops, restaurants & public squares are within few minutes walking distant. Carlos can speak perfect English very helpful & informative. Best customer service, very safe neighborhood day & night. Clean place. Feels like home here.

What a marvelous place. The rooms are clean, spacious with a private bathroom, the terrace is wonderful and cosy and the kitchen fully equipped. There is also filtered tap water to refill your bottles. Breakfast is rich and fulfilling and the hosts Carlos and Anelis are truly a treasure to find. They can also help with reservations in other places like Viñales, Trinidad, Varadero etc. I also washed my clothes as they provide excellent service. I’ve visited them twice.

Highly recommended! I absolutely loved my stay. The rooms are better then the photos show. This is not an ordinary hostel - the owners will welcome you into their family. I stayed with Carlos and Anelis 7 years ago, on my first trip to Cuba & made a wonderful friend out of that. Not only Carlos helped me draft a plan for going all around the country but also organised transport and a few well recommended Casas (accommodations) for me. Now after 7 years I brought a group of friends to Cuba and he helped us all like very first time. I stayed at hostal Mango twice, each time for about a week. I had a wonderful time. The service is great, the atmosphere is very nice, it's a great place to meet people, and the hosts are incredibly helpful with logistical help. One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at!

Only a few rooms so not many people around but almost only solo travelers so it was still easy to meet people, also a very laidback vibe. My room was the one facing the street, so it was quite noisy all day until midnight, however the provided mosquito nets, water, and wifi were great. Breakfast isn't as big as another hostel in Havana I was at but this one had much more fruit and vegetables. Big kitchen too. The best thing about this hostel is the location: it's in the old town but away from the touristy areas which allowed for a very genuine Cuba experience and relatively cheap food and drinks nearby. Carlos was also extremely helpful with local information for getting around that I would've a hard time finding elsewhere.

Carlos and his wife are amazing hosts creating a very comfortable vibe in this hostel. They're kind people always willing to help with your needs. Breakfast is full of fruits, vegetables, and fruit juice. They're also experienced backpackers themselves and can recommend both tourist-friendly and local favorite restaurants.
