TOURING OLD HAVANA. MARITIME PROMENADE AND THE ALAMEDA DE PAULA. La Alameda built in 1777 with great influence of the French Enlightenment. The new work of more than a year ago of the Paseo, a Floating construction that goes into the bay with a structure fixed at the bottom of the Sea. An Alameda that keeps its Poplars, its streetlights illuminated since 1841 and other works that gave colonial life to the Heritage of Humanity. There is access for the disabled.

It's next to a big container where you're able to buy souvenirs and there s a lot going on on the plaza itself. Almost every morning they have box training outside. Sometimes there are people playing football or baseball.

I've always loved this place. I don't know why, but I find it to be a very calming walk.

Linear park with side benches and a fountain in the center. At one end the Church of Paula, at the other end a statue of Nicolás Guillén.

Very nice, quiet place, we stayed on the corner of Jesús María and José with Avenida de Paula. Nice when the cruise ships arrive at the port. There is also a beautiful church and in front of it the San José market full of beautiful souvenirs, part of Old Havana or the historic center.

La Alameda de Paula, its church with the floating breakwater in front and The Artisan Brewery to cool off from the heat.

Amazing architecture of buildings. You'll notice the aging of the building's, but also the efforts to restore them. The people are friendly and courteous.

It's a peaceful place… It is a meeting point between tourists and tourist agencies and guides. The meeting points are next to the statue of Nicolás Guillén (the guy who looks towards the port). In this place there are trucks and guides who identify themselves and take you (in groups of 10 people) to walk through the center of Havana (Old Havana). If you walk from the Vedado area it takes approximately 1:15 hrs to get there on foot (20 minutes by car)... And if you are located in Old Havana, you arrive between 5 and 20 minutes on foot.
